待洗衣物上的污渍通常有两种;或i)粘土污渍颗粒,通常由硅铝酸盐负电荷层和正电荷阳离子,例如Ca++组成,正电荷处在硅铝酸盐层之间,并将其聚在一起;或ii)油或油脂产生的污渍,典型的有煎炸用油,油脂,蕃茄或通心面酱油,人体的汗渍(脂肪),和不可皂化油污如机油或石油产生的污渍。通常用干洗法去除油性污渍,但这很昂贵。以前,这种油性污渍都是在很热(典型的60-90℃)的洗涤条件下去除。但是,现在的趋势是节约能源,使用低得多的温度范围在15-50℃洗涤;然而不利的是,油性污渍在这种温度下不容易去除。

本发明聚合物可以用任何适宜的方法制备,例如,采用美国专利第4797223号,美国专利第4404309号,美国专利第5008329号和美国专利第4956421号描述的方法,这些方法在本文引用作为参考。
在本发明的一个方面中,聚合物在预先使用处理工艺中与织物接触。
应当注意,应使本发明方法中所用的聚合物组合物以下列至少一种方式与织物接触:1)通过例如,在织物接触污渍之前,在织物上喷涂,浸渍,或喷雾含有该聚合物的溶液,这可以采用织物预处理的方法保护织物表面,防止使用中弄脏;2)将织物与聚合物溶液在洗涤之前通过如喷涂,浸渍,或喷雾方式接触,称为“预敷(pre-spotting)”织物处理操作;3)将聚合物组合物与织物洗涤剂结合,以使聚合物通过“彻底洗涤”处理工艺与织物接触和4)将聚合物组合物通过洗涤过程中的漂洗循环与漂洗用织物柔软剂结合。
本发明所用聚合物组合物可以采用固体形式,如喷雾干燥制备的粉末或颗粒,或采用液体形式,优选使用作为水基溶液或共溶剂基溶液。
聚合物组合物也可以含有交联剂以增加聚合物分子量和制备改性聚合物结构构型。所用材料包括如亚甲基二丙烯酰胺,季戊四醇,二-,三-,和四丙烯酸酯,二乙烯基苯,聚二丙烯酸乙二醇酯和双酚A二丙烯酸酯。
本发明聚合物可以按其原(酸性)形式或中和成含羧酸酯阴离子盐的形式使用。优选碱金属离子典型地包括钠或钾,碱土金属阳离子如镁和钙,铵或四烷基铵盐,如四甲基铵,或有机胺盐,如三C1-C4烷基胺,羟乙胺,或单-,二-或三-C1-C4-烷醇胺的盐,或其混合物。
除了促使油性污渍从织物上,特别是从棉和含棉织物上去除之外,本发明也具有减少织物污渍的优点,即,尽管织物经受重复的洗涤而没有明显的变暗。在本发明的一个优选的具体实施方案中,聚合物组合物也能有效促使粘土污渍从织物,特别是从棉和含棉织物上去除。
本发明将参考下列实施例描述。通过实施例,本发明的确定疏水改性聚合物可以按照下列实施例1-6制备:
实施例1
在1升带有搅拌器,冷凝器,热电偶和添加单体与引发剂投料口的圆底四颈烧瓶中加入130克异丙醇。制备89.05克冰丙烯酸和16.85克65%表面活性剂单体溶液(C12甲基丙烯酸酯4EO)的单体混合物。制备1.43克70%叔-丁基过氧特戊酸酯与10克异丙醇的引发剂混合物。将烧瓶中物料加热到78℃,两小时内线性加入单体和引发剂的混合物。加料完成后,反应在78℃保温1小时,然后冷却,出料。所得固体量占43.7%。部分样品在升温条件下与氢氧化钾发生水解反应。用凝胶渗透色谱法测定的最终主链分子量为Mw=9080和Mn=5800。
实施例2
在1升带有搅拌器,冷凝器,热电偶和添加单体与引发剂投料口及氮气入口的圆底四颈烧瓶中加入100克甲醇。制备61.92克冰丙烯酸和58.58克65%表面活性剂单体溶液(C12甲基丙烯酸酯4EO)的单体混合物。制备1克2,2’-偶氮二(N,N’-二亚甲基异丁基脒)二氢氯化物与96克甲醇的引发剂混合物。将烧瓶中物料加热到64℃,并在两小时内线性加入单体和引发剂的混合物。加料完成后,反应在64℃保温1小时,然后冷却,出料。所得固体量占36.2%。部分样品在升温条件下与氢氧化钾发生水解反应。用凝胶渗透色谱法测定的最终主链分子量为Mw=34300和Mn=15900。
实施例3(实验聚合物6)
在1升带有搅拌器,冷凝器,热电偶和添加单体与引发剂投料口及氮气入口的圆底四颈烧瓶中加入65克甲醇。制备89.05克冰丙烯酸和16.85克65%表面活性剂单体溶液(C12甲基丙烯酸酯4E0)的单体混合物。制备克2,2’-偶氮二(N,N’-二亚甲基异丁基脒)二氢氯化物与96克甲醇的引发剂混合物。将烧瓶中物料加热到64℃,在两小时内线性加入单体和引发剂的混合物。加料完成后,反应在64℃保温1小时,然后冷却,出料。所得固体量占39.7%。部分样品在升温条件下与氢氧化钾发生水解反应。用凝胶渗透色谱法测定的最终主链分子量为Mw39500和Mn=14000。

实施例5(实验聚合物11)
在1升带有搅拌器,冷凝器,热电偶和添加单体与引发剂投料口及氮气入口的圆底四颈烧瓶中加入125克甲醇。制备89.05克冰丙烯酸和6.46克月桂基甲基丙烯酸酯和10克甲醇的单体混合物。制备1克2,2’-偶氮二(N,N’-二亚甲基异丁基脒)二氢氯化物与96克甲醇的引发剂混合物。将烧瓶中物料加热到64℃,在两小时内线性加入单体和引发剂的混合物。加料完成后,反应在64℃保温1小时,然后冷却,出料。所得固体量占29.4%。部分样品在升温条件下与氢氧化钾发生水解反应。用凝胶渗透色谱法测定的最终主链分子量为Mw=29200和Mn=13100。

在1升带有搅拌器,冷凝器,热电偶和添加单体与引发剂投料口及氮气入口的圆底四颈烧瓶中加入100克甲醇。制备89.05克冰丙烯酸和12.7克聚乙二醇-400单甲醚单甲基丙烯酸酯和10克甲醇的单体混合物。制备1克2,2’-偶氮二(N,N’-二亚甲基异丁基脒)二氢氯化物与96克甲醇的引发剂混合物。将烧瓶中物料加热到64℃,两小时内线性加入单体和引发剂的混合物。加料完成后,反应在64℃保温1小时,然后冷却,出料。所得固体量占28.4%。部分样品在升温条件下与氢氧化钾发生水解反应。用凝胶渗透色谱法测定的最终主链分子量为Mw=25400和Mn=12500。
结果评价
本发明聚合物在液体和粉末洗涤剂配方中功效的评价是通过利用美国试验公司Terg-O-Tometer(7243-S型)洗涤设备设置在典型的美国洗涤参数条件下在市售粉末和液体洗涤配方和原始液体洗涤剂中洗涤脏的棉绒织物(纯棉)来进行。洗涤条件详见下表1,用于评价本发明聚合物组合物的原始液体洗涤剂见于表2。表3是其它适宜的可能用于但不仅限于用于本发明聚合物的粉末和液体洗涤剂配方。
试验规定
a)在弄脏和洗涤之前直接用聚合物预处理织物.
聚合物组合物通过将1.0克1%已中和的聚合物溶液直接喷涂到布料上的方式用于购自Test Fabrics,Inc.(West Pittston,PA)的棉绒织物上。然后将织物空气干燥过夜。
然后将棉绒按特定尺寸(3.5英寸×4.5英寸)切成试验片,并用0.6克混有粉垢的脂肪乳液或25%泥浆(水液)用中国毛刷(10号)涂脏.混有粉垢的脂肪乳液购自科学服务公司(Sparrow Bush,N.Y.),是按照Spangler规范(JAOCS,42,723(1965))制造的。用于弄脏织物的本地泥土是深橙色的并要反复研磨至200目过筛。污垢在布料上“涂”在直径2英寸的圆圈内,在按照表1详述的典型洗涤条件洗涤之前空气干燥过夜。
每一块布料的反光度都用Hunter实验室比色计(ColorQUESTTM45/0)测量,数据用X,Y和Z颜色等级记录。反光度(Y)通常在洗涤之前测量以使只有同样反光度的布料用于给定试验中。然后在洗涤之后测量以评价洗涤剂的功效。表4ΔY值是反光度相对于未用聚合物预处理的织物在洗涤剂中洗涤的对比布料的变化情况。
每个污渍试验的评价至少要经过两次试验。表4所列数据是从单独的污渍试验得到的反光度值的复合平均值。

从表4结果,我们可以看到实验的聚合物组合物在典型的洗涤条件下,促使沾污油脂污渍从棉织物上去除。而在同样的棉织物上使用油溶性和水溶性非离子醇乙氧基化物(分别见比较例1和例2)和传统的聚羧酸均聚物(比较例3)都在洗涤中只有最小的效果。
本发明的聚合物具有高的侧接的表面活性剂单体与主链单体的摩尔比是特别有利的(例如见实验例14,15,22和24),因为这样能促使沾污油脂和粘土污渍从棉纤维上的粘土基污渍上去除。
b)在弄脏和洗涤之前用添加到漂洗用织物柔软剂中的聚合物预处理织 物。
也可以评价混入漂洗用织物柔软剂中的本发明聚合物的去污效果。棉绒织物在原始液体洗涤剂(表2)中用美国试验公司的Terg-O-Tometer在典型的美国洗涤条件(如前所述)下洗涤。在短的漂洗循环中,在漂洗水中加入50ppm的二牛油脂二甲基氯化铵(Adogen 442-100P)或二牛油脂esterquat(Stepantex VL90)。使不同聚合物组合物按照典型的5-25ppm的浓度与四元表面活性剂一起加入。这一工艺重复三次完整的洗涤/漂洗循环(见表5)。然后将织物风干过夜,弄脏,第二天洗涤。
每种织物的反光度用Hunter Lab比色计(ColorQUESTTM45/0)测量。数据按X,Y和Z颜色等级记录。反光度(Y)通常在洗涤前测量,以保证在给定的实验中只用相同反光度的布料。然后在洗涤之后测量反光度以评价漂洗循环中添加剂的功效。(二牛油脂二甲基氯化铵,除非另有注明)。表6中的ΔY值是相对在RAFS中没有加聚合物洗涤的对照布科反光度的变化。
每个污渍试验的评价至少要经过两次试验。表6所列数据是从单独的污渍试验得到的反光度数值的复合平均值。
从表6结果,我们可以看到添加到漂洗织物柔软剂配方中的本发明聚合物组合物可以促使汗渍/衣领污渍的混合物从棉制服装上去除。这种改变了的清洗效果在漂洗中使用的聚合物浓度低达5ppm时也能观察到。

Claims (6)
1.促使油性污渍从织物上去除的方法,包括使织物至少与一种式1聚合物接触:
其中:
A是聚合单体基,其单体选自C3-C8单烯属不饱和羧酸中的一种或几种;
B是聚合单体基,其单体选自乙氧基化C1-C24烷基丙烯酸酯,乙氧基化C1-24烷基甲基丙烯酸酯,聚亚烷基二醇丙烯酸酯,和聚亚烷基二醇甲基丙烯酸酯及其相应的马来酸单酯和二酯中的一种或几种;
C是聚合单体基,其单体选自可与A和B中单体共聚的烯属不饱和单体中的一种或几种;
A基、B基和C基在该聚合物中无规排列;
S和T是端基;
m是A基的总数,为0-500;
n是B基的总数,为>0;
p是C基的总数,为0-500;
m和p的和至少是1;
q是0-100;和
D是C2-C4烯化氧基;
E选自C1-C50烷基和C6-C50的芳基,
X是官能团;以及其中聚合物在织物与污渍接触之前用于织物上。
2.按照权利要求1的方法,其中聚合物在织物预先使用处理工艺中通过喷涂、浸渍或喷雾方式直接与织物接触。
3.按照权利要求1的方法,其中聚合物在弄脏之前通过进行弄脏之前的洗涤过程施用于织物上,其中聚合物通过洗涤过程中的漂洗循环与漂洗用织物柔软剂结合。
4.按照权利要求1的方法,其中聚合物在弄脏之前通过进行弄脏之前的洗涤过程施用于织物上。
5.按照权利要求1的方法,其中聚合物与织物洗涤剂相结合,以使聚合物通过彻底洗涤处理工艺与织物接触。
6.权利要求1的方法,其中比率m+p∶n是10∶1至1∶1。
