技术领域
本发明涉及一种显示装置及其控制方法,更具体地讲,涉及一种包括源极模块和阵列模块的显示装置及其控制方法。
背景技术
在显示装置中,使用源极(source)模块来将数位值转换成模拟工作电压值,模拟电压值经过阵列(array)模块上的数据线路,从而显示像素信号。
图1示出根据现有技术的显示装置100的框图。
显示装置100可包括源极模块101和阵列模块109。源极模块101可包括:接收单元102、移位寄存器103、行存储器104、电平升压单元105、数模转换单元106和放大电路107。通常使用差分信号(例如,低电压差分信号(LVDS)或mini-LVDS)来传输图像数据。接收单元102用于将接收到的差分信号转换为数位信号。移位寄存器103用于将串行传输的数位信号转换为并行传输的数位信号。行存储器104用于按照显示装置100中的显示位置对数位信号进行有序存储。电平升压单元105将行存储器104存储的数位信号的电压值升压至模拟工作电压值。数模转换单元106将模拟工作电压值转换为灰阶电压值。放大电路107进一步放大灰阶电压值,以提升显示装置100的驱动能力。
然而,源极模块101中通常包括960个通道,并且每一个通道都需要一个放大电路。当显示装置的负载长时间很大时,放大电路的电流就会很大,从而使得源极模块的温度很高。在某些情况下,源极模块的温度可能会超过节点温度,从而使得源极模块无法正常工作。

根据本发明的示例性实施例的一方面,提供了一种显示装置,其中,所述显示装置包括源极模块和阵列模块。源极模块包括:接收单元,接收图像信号并从图像信号中提取出控制信号和像素信号;时钟信号产生单元,产生多个时钟信号,其中,所述多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的周期相同并且所述每个时钟信号的高电平时间段彼此不重叠;电平升压单元,将提取出的控制信号和像素信号的电压升压至模拟工作电压;数模转换单元,将升压后的像素信号的电压转换为灰阶电压。阵列模块包括:移位寄存器,基于升压后的控制信号和产生的多个时钟信号输出具有灰阶电压的像素信号。

这里,根据本发明的示例性实施例的显示装置200可以是具有显示功能的各种类型的设备,诸如智能电话、数字电视机、平板个人计算机(PC)、便携式多媒体播放器(PMP)、个人数字助理(PDA)、导航装置、数字相机、监视器、膝上型计算机等。此外,可使用以下项中的任何一项来实现根据本发明的示例性实施例的显示装置200:有机发光二极管(OLED)、液晶显示器(LCD)和有源矩阵有机发光二极管(AMOLED)。以下,将使用TFT-LCD来实现的显示装置作为示例进行描述。然而,对于本领域技术人员而言显然的是根据本发明的示例性实施例的显示装置200不限于此。
接收单元202可接收图像信号并从图像信号中提取出控制信号和像素信号。这里,可通过使用差分信号(例如,低电压差分信号(LVDS)或mini-LVDS)来传输图像数据。以下,将以mini-LVDS作为示例对根据本发明的示例性实施例进行描述。当使用mini-LVDS来传输图像数据时,能够有效降低传输工号并减少传输过程中的干扰。
根据本发明的示例性实施例,接收单元202可将图像信号的行起始信号提取为控制信号(STH)。接收单元202还可提取从图像信号提取出像素信号。时钟信号产生单元203可产生多个时钟信号CLK1-CLKn,并将多个时钟信号CLK1-CLKn提供给移位寄存器206。根据本公开的示例性实施例,多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的周期可相同并且所述每个时钟信号的高电平时间段可彼此不重叠。例如,时钟信号的周期可以是多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的高电平时间段之和。参照图4,时钟信号的周期可以是CLK1、CLK2和CLK3的第一个高电平时间段之和。根据本发明的示例性实施例,多个时钟信号的数量可大于或等于3。
电平升压单元204对提取出的控制信号和像素信号进行升压。具体来说,电平升压单元204将提取出的控制信号和像素信号的电压升压至模拟工作电压(VAA),并将具有模拟工作电压的控制信号提供给移位寄存器206。数模转换单元205可将升压后的像素信号的电压转换为灰阶电压,并将具有灰阶电压的像素信号提供给移位寄存器206。
根据本发明的示例性实施例,移位寄存器206可基于升压后的控制信号和产生的多个时钟信号输出具有灰阶电压的像素信号。具体来说,当控制信号和多个时钟信号中的第一个时钟信号转变为高电平时,移位寄存器206在所述多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的高电平期间依次输出相应的像素信号。
通过基于提取出的控制信号和产生的多个时钟信号有序地输出具有灰阶电压的像素信号,能够在源极模块中省略行存储器,从而能够节省源极模块的制作成本。此外,在这种情况下,电平升压单元204和数模转换单元205仅需要分别为正和负的两个通道,而在如图1所示的显示装置100中每个通道(例如,960个通道)中分别需要各自的电平升压单元和数模转换单元。因此,能够节省源极模块的制作成本。以下,将参照图3和图4详细描述移位寄存器206输出像素信号的处理。
根据本发明的示例性实施例,放大电路207可对由移位寄存器输出的具有灰阶电压的像素信号的电压进行放大以显示图像。可通过逐级放大的运算放大器(例如,偶然级运算放大电路)来实现放大电路207。根据本发明的示例性实施例,通过将移位寄存器206和放大电路207整合到阵列模块209中,能够有效提供阵列模块制程的有效利用率,并改善源极模块温度过高的问题。
图3是示出根据本发明的示例性实施例的移位寄存器206的电路的示图。图4是示出根据本发明的示例性实施例的移位寄存器206的输出的时序图。
如图3和图4所示,将使用3个时钟信号的情况作为优选的实施例对移位寄存器206的电路结构和输出时序图进行了描述。然而,对于本领域技术人员而言显然的是,根据本发明的示例性实施例的移位寄存器206不限于此。
在图3中,Q可表示晶体管,C可表示电容器,INPUT可表示输入端,OUT 1至OUT 5可分别表示第一输出端至第五输出端。如图4所示,当控制信号(STH)的电平和第一时钟(CLK1)的电平都为高电平时,可通过第一输出端(OUT 1)来输出输入端(INPUT)接收到的电压值(即,具有灰阶电压的像素信号)。同时,CLK1可对C1充电使其电位为高电平。
随后,当第二时钟(CLK2)为高电平时,Q4导通,C1的高电平使Q6导通,此时,如图4所示,第二输出端(OUT 2)可输出输入端(INPUT)接收到的电压值。同时,CLK2给C2充电使其电位为高电平。另外,由于控制信号和第一时钟都为低电平,因此Q1、Q2和Q3截止,第一输出端保持原始电平。
当第三时钟(CLK3)为高电平时,Q5导通,C1的电位放电至0V,并且,Q7导通。此时,C2的高电平使得Q9导通,因此,如图4所示,第三输出端(OUT 3)可输出输入端(INPUT)接收到的电压值。同时,CLK3给C4充电而使其电位为高电平,并且CLK2为低电平,Q4和Q6截止,这样,第二输出端保持原始电平。
当第一时钟信号(CLK1)再次变为高电平时,Q8导通并将C2电位放电至0V。此时,STH的电位为低电平,因此第一输出端(OUT 1)无法与输入端(INPUT)导通。另外,Q17导通,C4的高电位使得Q18也导通,从而如图4所示,第四输出端(OUT 4)可输出输入端接收到的电压值。同时,CLK1给C5充电使其电位为高电平。
这样,通过CLK1\CLK2\CLK3的不断循环,可通过第一输出端(OUT 1)至第n输出端(OUT n)来输出一行的像素信号。当接收到下一个行起始信号STH时,从第一输出端(OUT 1)开始依次输出输入端接收到的电压值,直到图像信号均得到相应的电压为止。
移位寄存器的第一输出端(OUT 1)至第n输出端(OUT n)可分别与放大线路中的相应的输入端连接。
图5是示出根据本发明的示例性实施例的控制显示装置200的方法的流程图。
参照图5,在操作S501,源极模块可接收图像信号并从图像信号中提取出控制信号和像素信号。
在操作S503,源极模块可产生多个时钟信号,其中,所述多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的周期相同并且所述每个时钟信号的高电平时间段彼此不重叠。
在操作S505,源极模块可将提取出的控制信号和像素信号的电压升压至模拟工作电压。
在操作S507,源极模块可将升压后的像素信号的电压转换为灰阶电压。
在操作S509,阵列模块可基于升压后的控制信号和产生的多个时钟信号输出具有灰阶电压的像素信号。
根据本发明的示例性实施例,所述多个时钟信号的数量可大于或等于3。阵列模块可对输出的具有灰阶电压的像素信号的电压进行放大以显示图像。
根据本发明的另一示例性实施例,源极模块基于图像信号中的行起始信号来获得控制信号。
作为另一示例,当控制信号和多个时钟信号中的第一个时钟信号转变为高电平时,阵列模块在所述多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的高电平期间依次输出相应的像素信号。
如上所述,根据以上示例性实施例中的一个或更多个,能够提高阵列模块的制程的利用率并降低源极模块的成本的同时改善源极模块温度过高的问题。
此外,其他示例性实施例也可通过介质(例如,计算机可读介质)中/上的计算机可读代码/指令来实现,以控制至少一个处理元件实现任何上述示例性实施例。介质可与允许计算机可读代码的存储和/或传输的任何介质相应。利用包括记录介质(诸如,磁存储介质(例如,ROM、软盘、硬盘等)和光记录介质(例如,CD-ROM或DVD))和传输介质(诸如,互联网传输介质)的介质的示例,计算机可读代码可以以各种方式在介质上被记录/传输。因此,介质可以是根据一个或更多个示例性实施例的包括或携带信号或信息的这样定义和可测量的结构,诸如,携带比特流的装置。介质还可以是分布式网络,使得计算机可读代码以分布式方式被存储/传输和执行。此外,处理元件可包括处理器或计算机处理器,处理元件可分布和/或包括在单个装置中。

Claims (10)
1.一种显示装置,其中,所述显示装置包括源极模块和阵列模块,其中,源极模块包括:
接收单元,接收图像信号并从图像信号中提取出控制信号和像素信号;
时钟信号产生单元,产生多个时钟信号,其中,所述多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的周期相同并且所述每个时钟信号的高电平时间段彼此不重叠;
电平升压单元,将提取出的控制信号和像素信号的电压升压至模拟工作电压;
数模转换单元,将升压后的像素信号的电压转换为灰阶电压,
阵列模块包括:移位寄存器,基于升压后的控制信号和产生的多个时钟信号输出具有灰阶电压的像素信号。
2.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,阵列模块还包括:
放大电路,对由移位寄存器输出的具有灰阶电压的像素信号的电压进行放大以显示图像。
3.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,所述多个时钟信号的数量大于或等于3。
4.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,控制信号是基于图像信号中的行起始信号来获得的。
5.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,当控制信号和所述多个时钟信号中的第一个时钟信号转变为高电平时,移位寄存器在所述多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的高电平期间依次输出相应的像素信号。
6.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,电平升压单元和数模转换单元使用分别为正和负的两个通道。
7.一种控制显示装置的方法,其中,所述显示装置包括源极模块和阵列模块,所述方法包括:
源极模块接收图像信号并从图像信号中提取出控制信号和像素信号;
源极模块产生多个时钟信号,其中,所述多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的周期相同并且所述每个时钟信号的高电平时间段彼此不重叠;
源极模块将提取出的控制信号和像素信号的电压升压至模拟工作电压;
源极模块将升压后的像素信号的电压转换为灰阶电压;
阵列模块基于升压后的控制信号和产生的多个时钟信号输出具有灰阶电压的像素信号。
8.如权利要求7所述的方法,其中,所述多个时钟信号的数量大于或等于3。
9.如权利要求7所述的方法,其中,阵列模块对输出的具有灰阶电压的像素信号的电压进行放大以显示图像。
10.如权利要求7所述的方法,其中,源极模块基于图像信号中的行起始信号来获得控制信号,
其中,阵列模块输出具有灰阶电压的像素信号的步骤包括:当控制信号和所述多个时钟信号中的第一个时钟信号转变为高电平时,阵列模块在所述多个时钟信号中的每个时钟信号的高电平期间依次输出相应的像素信号。
