Abstract

发明背景
颁发给Turner的美国专利号4,566,237教导了用于消除弹道碎片和热辐射威胁的庇护所的装甲板结构,其包含粘接到蜂窝芯的铝合金片的内部结构板和在多层树脂基质层压板中的芳纶纤维织物的外部面板。该面板据称与该内部结构板具有特定的间隔关系,以使得冲击射弹的能量分布在大的面积上,并且该面板在吸收这样的能量中允许向内弯曲。

发明概述
在一个实施方案中,本发明提供结构隔热板,其可以提供对爆炸和弹道事件的防护。在另一实施方案中,该结构隔热板可以附加地提供信号防御。本发明的结构隔热板包含金属片材、聚氨酯或聚异氰脲酸酯泡沫和聚碳酸酯片材、膜或层压件。由于它们的构造材料,本发明的板是轻质的,并且多个这样的板可以快速和容易地组装成坚固的、隔热的、临时或永久的庇护所用于防护多种情况和环境。

发明详述
现在将出于举例说明而非限制的目的来描述本发明。除了在操作实施例中,或另有说明之处,在说明书中所有表达量、百分比、OH数、官能度等等的数字应理解为在所有情况下均被术语“大约”修饰。除非另有说明,本文中以道尔顿(Da)为单位给出的当量和分子量分别是数均当量和数均分子量。
在一些实施方案中,可用于本发明的结构隔热板的聚碳酸酯片材、膜和层压件是透明的,但是本发明人设想了其中当使用层压件时它们可以是半透明的、或不透明的、或甚至装饰性的情形。适于制备可用于本发明的结构隔热板的片材的聚碳酸酯树脂是均聚碳酸酯和共聚碳酸酯,直链或支链的树脂以及其混合物。
在本发明的一些实施方案中,该聚碳酸酯具有10,000至200,000的重均分子量(通过凝胶渗透色谱法测得)。在其它实施方案中,该聚碳酸酯具有20,000至80,000的重均分子量。在一些实施方案中,本发明的聚碳酸酯具有1至65克/10分钟的按照ASTMD-1238在300℃下的熔体流动速率,替代地,该熔体流动速率可以为2至35克/10分钟。可用于本发明的实施方案的聚碳酸酯例如可以通过已知的两相界面法由碳酸衍生物如光气和二羟基化合物通过缩聚来制备(参见德国公开说明书2,063,050;2,063,052;1,570,703;2,211,956;2,211,957和2,248,817;法国专利1,561,518;和H.Schnell的专著“ChemistryandPhysicsofPolycarbonates”,IntersciencePublishers,NewYork,NewYork,1964)。
在本文中,适于制备可用于本发明的实施方案的聚碳酸酯的二羟基化合物符合下面的结构式(1)或(2)。

可用于制造用于本发明的实施方案的聚碳酸酯的二羟基化合物尤其是氢醌、间苯二酚、双-(羟基苯基)-烷烃、双-(羟基苯基)-醚、双-(羟基苯基)-酮、双-(羟基苯基)-亚砜、双-(羟基苯基)-硫醚、双-(羟基苯基)-砜和α,α-双-(羟基苯基)-二异丙苯,以及它们的核烷基化化合物。这些和其它合适的芳族二羟基化合物例如描述在美国专利号5,401,826;5,105,004;5,126,428;5,109,076;5,104,723;5,086,157;3,028,356;2,999,835;3,148,172;2,991,273;3,271,367和2,999,846,其内容通过引用并入本文。
合适的双酚的进一步实例是2,2-双-(4-羟基苯基)-丙烷(双酚A)、2,4-双-(4-羟基苯基)-2-甲基-丁烷、1,1-双-(4-羟基苯基)-环己烷、α,α’-双-(4-羟基-苯基)-对二异丙苯、2,2-双-(3-甲基-4-羟基苯基)-丙烷、2,2-双-(3-氯-4-羟基苯基)-丙烷、4,4’-二羟基-联苯、双-(3,5-二甲基-4-羟基苯基)-甲烷、2,2-双-(3,5-二甲基-4-羟基苯基)-丙烷、双-(3,5-二甲基-4-羟基苯基)-硫醚、双-(3,5-二甲基-4-羟基-苯基)-亚砜、双-(3,5-二甲基-4-羟基苯基)-砜、二羟基-二苯甲酮、2,4-双-(3,5-二甲基-4-羟基苯基)-环己烷、α,α’-双-(3,5-二甲基-4-羟基苯基)-对二异丙苯和4,4’-磺酰基双酚。
可用于各种实施方案的芳族双酚的实例是2,2-双-(4-羟基苯基)-丙烷(双酚A)、2,2-双-(3,5-二甲基-4-羟基苯基)-丙烷、1,1-双-(4-羟基苯基)-环己烷和1,1-双-(4-羟基-苯基)-3,3,5-三甲基环己烷。
适于制造本发明的实施方案的结构隔热板的聚碳酸酯可能需要衍生自一种或多种所述合适的双酚的它们的结构单元。
适于本发明的实践的树脂尤其是基于酚酞的聚碳酸酯、共聚碳酸酯和三聚碳酸酯,如美国专利号3,036,036和4,210,741中所述,其均通过引用并入本文。
本发明的一些实施方案的聚碳酸酯还可以通过在其中缩合少量如0.05至2.0摩尔%(相对于双酚)的多羟基化合物来支化。这种类型的聚碳酸酯已经描述在例如德国公开说明书1,570,533;2,116,974和2,113,374;英国专利885,442和1,079,821以及美国专利号3,544,514中,其通过引用并入本文。下面是可用于此目的的多羟基化合物的一些实例:间苯三酚;4,6-二甲基-2,4,6-三-(4-羟基-苯基)-庚烷;1,3,5-三-(4-羟基苯基)-苯;1,1,1-三-(4-羟基苯基)-乙烷;三-(4-羟基苯基)-苯基-甲烷;2,2-双-[4,4-(4,4’-二羟基二苯基)]-环己基-丙烷;2,4-双-(4-羟基-1-异丙叉基)-苯酚(2,4-bis-(4-hydroxy-1-isopropylidine)-phenol);2,6-双-(2’-二羟基-5’-甲基苄基)-4-甲基-苯酚(2,6-bis-(2’-dihydroxy-5’-methylbenzyl)-4-methyl-phenol);2,4-二羟基苯甲酸;2-(4-羟基-苯基)-2-(2,4-二羟基-苯基)-丙烷和1,4-双-(4,4’-二羟基三苯基甲基)-苯。一些其它多官能化合物是2,4-二羟基-苯甲酸、苯均三酸、氰尿酰氯和3,3-双-(4-羟基苯基)-2-氧代-2,3-二氢吲哚。
除了上面提到的缩聚法之外,用于制备本发明的聚碳酸酯的替代方法是在均相中的缩聚和酯交换反应。合适的方法公开在美国专利号3,028,365;2,999,846;3,153,008和2,991,273中,其通过引用并入本文。
在一些实施方案中,用于制备聚碳酸酯的方法是界面缩聚法。形成本发明的聚碳酸酯的其它合成方法,如公开在美国专利号3,912,688(其通过引用并入本文)中,可以替代地使用。合适的聚碳酸酯树脂是可商购的,例如来自BayerMaterialScience以商标MAKROLON。在各种实施方案中,该聚碳酸酯以片材或膜的形式在本发明的结构隔热板中使用。合适的聚碳酸酯片材以商标HYGARD是可商购的。
在制造本发明的实施方案中使用的硬质泡沫时,可以使用两种预先配制的组分,通常称为A组分(也称为A侧)和B组分(或B侧)。通常,A组分含有异氰酸酯化合物,其与含有多元醇的B组分反应以形成泡沫,形成泡沫的成分的剩余部分分布在这两种组分的一种或两种中或分布在另一种组分或两种组分中。
在本发明的多个实施方案中,有机多异氰酸酯可以用于制备该硬质泡沫,包括芳族、脂族和脂环族多异氰酸酯及其组合。合适的多异氰酸酯例如描述在美国专利号4,795,763、4,065,410、3,401,180、3,454,606、3,152,162、3,492,330、3,001,973、3,394,164和3,124,605中,其全部内容通过引用并入本文。
这样的多异氰酸酯的实例是二异氰酸酯,如间苯二异氰酸酯、甲苯-2,4-二异氰酸酯、甲苯-2,6-二异氰酸酯、2,4-和2,6-甲苯二异氰酸酯的混合物、六亚甲基-1,6-二异氰酸酯、四亚甲基-1,4-二异氰酸酯、环己烷-1,4-二异氰酸酯、六氢甲苯2,4-和2,6-二异氰酸酯、萘-1,5-二异氰酸酯、4,4'-二苯基甲烷二异氰酸酯(MDI)、聚合的MDI(PMDI)、4,4'-联苯二异氰酸酯(4,4'-diphenylenediisocyanate)、3,3'-二甲氧基-4,4'-联苯-二异氰酸酯、3,3'-二甲基二苯基甲烷-4,4'-二异氰酸酯;三异氰酸酯,如4,4',4'-三苯基甲烷-三异氰酸酯、多亚甲基多苯基异氰酸酯(polymethylenepolyphenylisocyanate)、甲苯-2,4,6-三异氰酸酯;和四异氰酸酯,如4,4'-二甲基二苯基甲烷-2,2',5,5'-四异氰酸酯。
在替代实施方案中,在本发明的泡沫的制备中还可以使用预聚物。预聚物可以通过使过量的有机多异氰酸酯或其混合物与较少量的通过公知的Zerewitinoff测试确定的含活性氢化合物反应来制备,如Kohler在“JournaloftheAmericanChemicalSociety”,49,3181(1927)中所述。这些化合物及其制备方法在本领域是公知的。使用任意一种特定的活性氢化合物不是关键的,任何这样的化合物都可用于本发明的实践。
在一些实施方案中,包含在该泡沫中的优选异氰酸酯是聚合的MDI(PMDI),或PMDI的预聚物。
本发明的结构隔热板的泡沫的多元醇组分是至少一种聚酯多元醇和至少一种聚醚多元醇的多元醇共混物。该聚醚多元醇与该聚酯多元醇以70:30至40:60的比率存在于该共混物中。
可用于本发明的实施方案的聚醚多元醇包括多官能活性氢引发剂与单体单元如环氧乙烷、环氧丙烷、环氧丁烷及其混合物的反应产物,环氧丙烷、环氧乙烷或混合的环氧丙烷和环氧乙烷在各种实施方案中是优选的。在一些实施方案中,该多官能活性氢引发剂具有2-8的官能度,替代地该引发剂具有3或更大(例如4-8)的官能度。
多种引发剂可以被烷氧基化以形成可用的聚醚多元醇。因此,例如,可以使以下类型的多官能胺和醇烷氧基化:单乙醇胺、二乙醇胺、三乙醇胺、乙二醇、聚乙二醇、丙二醇、己三醇、聚丙二醇、甘油、山梨糖醇、三羟甲基丙烷、季戊四醇、蔗糖和其它碳水化合物。在一些实施方案中,包含基于蔗糖或山梨糖醇的聚醚多元醇。这样的胺或醇可以使用本领域技术人员已知的技术与环氧烷(一种或多种)反应。成品多元醇所需的羟基数决定了用于与引发剂反应的环氧烷的量。该聚醚多元醇可以通过使该引发剂与单一环氧烷反应来制备,或与顺序添加的两种或多种环氧烷反应以提供嵌段聚合物链,或与一次性添加的两种或多种环氧烷反应以实现这样的环氧烷的随机分布。多元醇共混物如高分子量聚醚多元醇与较低分子量聚醚多元醇的混合物也可以用于各种实施方案。
可用于制备该多元醇的环氧烷包括具有环状醚基的任何化合物,优选α,β-环氧乙烷,并且是未取代的,或替代地用在制备多元醇中遭遇的条件下不发生化学反应的惰性基团来取代。合适的环氧烷的实例包括环氧乙烷、环氧丙烷、1,2-或2,3-环氧丁烷、己烷氧化物(hexaneoxide)的各种异构体、氧化苯乙烯、表氯醇、环氧氯己烷、环氧氯戊烷等等。基于性能、可用性和成本,最优选的是环氧乙烷、环氧丙烷、环氧丁烷及其混合物,在一些实施方案中,环氧乙烷、环氧丙烷或其混合物是最优选的。如果用环氧烷的组合来制备多元醇的话,该环氧烷可以作为完整混合物反应,提供氧化烯单元在该多元醇的氧化物链中的随机分布,或者替代地它们可以逐步的方式反应以提供在该多元醇的氧化烯链中的嵌段分布。
可用于本发明的实施方案的聚酯多元醇可以通过已知方法由多元羧酸或多元羧酸衍生物(如所述多元羧酸的酸酐或酯)和多元醇来制备。该酸和/或醇可以作为两种或多种化合物的混合物形式用于制备该聚酯多元醇。在一些实施方案中,使用具有小于350毫克KOH/克的OH数的聚酯,替代地,在该泡沫中可以包含具有小于300毫克KOH/克的OH数的聚酯。
在本发明的各种实施方案中,该多元羧酸组分是二元的,并可以是脂族的、脂环族的、芳族的和/或杂环的,并可以任选被例如卤素原子取代和/或可以是不饱和的。适于制备该聚酯多元醇的羧酸及其衍生物的实例包括:草酸;丙二酸;琥珀酸;戊二酸;己二酸;庚二酸;辛二酸;壬二酸;癸二酸;邻苯二甲酸;间苯二甲酸;偏苯三酸;对苯二甲酸;邻苯二甲酸酐;四氢邻苯二甲酸酐;苯四甲酸二酐;六氢邻苯二甲酸酐;四氯邻苯二甲酸酐;内亚甲基四氢邻苯二甲酸酐;戊二酸酐;马来酸;马来酸酐;富马酸;任选与一元不饱和脂肪酸如油酸混合的二元和三元不饱和脂肪酸;对苯二甲酸二甲酯和对苯二甲酸双-二醇酯。
任何合适的多元醇可用于制备该聚酯多元醇。在各种实施方案中,该多元醇可以是脂族的、脂环族的、芳族的和/或杂环的,并选自二醇、三醇和四醇。具有不超过20个碳原子的脂族二元醇是非常令人满意的。替代地,该多元醇可以包含在反应中为惰性的取代基,例如氯和溴取代基,和/或可以是不饱和的。也可使用合适的氨基醇,例如单乙醇胺、二乙醇胺、三乙醇胺等等。此外,该多元羧酸(一种或多种)可以与多元醇和氨基醇的混合物缩合。
合适的多元醇的实例包括但不限于乙二醇;丙二醇-(1,2)和-(1,3);丁二醇-(1,4)和-(2,3);己二醇-(1,6);辛二醇-(1,8);新戊二醇;1,4-双-羟基甲基环己烷;2-甲基-1,3-丙二醇;甘油;三羟甲基丙烷;三羟甲基乙烷;己三醇-(1,2,6);丁三醇-(1,2,4);季戊四醇;对环己二醇;甘露醇;山梨糖醇;甲酰醇(formitol);α-甲基-葡糖苷;二甘醇;三乙二醇;四乙二醇和高级聚乙二醇;二丙二醇和高级聚丙二醇以及二丁二醇和高级聚丁二醇。特别优选的是氧亚烷基二醇,如二甘醇、二丙二醇、三甘醇、三丙二醇、四甘醇、四丙二醇、三亚甲基二醇和四亚甲基二醇。
可用于制造可以在本发明中使用的聚氨酯泡沫的其它组分包括本领域中已知的那些,如表面活性剂、催化剂、颜料、着色剂、填料、抗氧化剂、阻燃剂、稳定剂等等。
本发明的结构隔热板的泡沫的反应性可以用催化剂水平来调节。基于胺的催化剂用于引发聚氨酯反应并减少凝胶时间。但是,非常高的基于胺的催化剂水平会导致在提高温度下加速的聚氨酯泡沫分解反应,并因此降低长期的热稳定性。在本发明的泡沫中的优选催化剂是胺催化剂。
合适的叔胺催化剂的实例包括1,3,5-三(3-(二甲基氨基)丙基)六氢-s-三嗪、三亚乙基二胺、N-甲基吗啉、五甲基二亚乙基三胺、二甲基环己胺、四甲基乙二胺、1-甲基-4-二甲基氨基乙基-哌嗪、3-甲氧基-N-二甲基-丙胺、N-乙基吗啉、二乙基乙醇胺、N-椰油吗啉、N,N-二甲基-N',N'二甲基异丙基-丙二胺、N,N-二乙基-3-二乙基氨基丙胺和二甲基-苄胺。合适的有机金属催化剂的实例包括有机汞、有机铅、有机铁和有机锡催化剂,其中有机锡催化剂是优选的。合适的有机锡催化剂包括羧酸的锡盐,如二-2-乙基己酸二丁基锡和二月桂酸二丁基锡。金属盐如氯化亚锡也可以充当该氨酯(urethane)反应的催化剂。也可以任选在本文中使用用于多异氰酸酯的三聚反应的催化剂,如碱金属醇盐或羧酸盐。还可用的是羧酸的钾盐,如辛酸钾和乙酸钾。这样的催化剂以可测量地增加多异氰酸酯的反应速率的量使用。通常的量为每100重量份多元醇0.01至5.0份催化剂。
当制备基于多异氰酸酯的泡沫时,可以有利的是使用较少量的表面活性剂以稳定发泡反应混合物直到其获得刚性。任何合适的表面活性剂可用于本发明,包括硅氧烷/环氧乙烷/环氧丙烷共聚物。可用于本发明的表面活性剂的实例尤其包括聚二甲基硅氧烷-聚氧化烯嵌段共聚物NIAXL-5420、NIAXL-5340和NIAXY10744(可获自GESilicones.);DABCODC-193(来自AirProductsandChemicals,Inc);以及TEGOSTABB84PI和TEGOSTABB-8433(来自GoldschmidtChemicalCorp)。其它合适的表面活性剂描述在美国专利号4,365,024和4,529,745中。在其它实施方案中,使用包括长链醇的聚乙二醇醚、叔胺或长链烷基酸硫酸酯的链烷醇胺盐、烷基磺酸酯、烷基芳基磺酸的表面活性剂。这样的表面活性剂以足以使发泡反应混合物稳定从而避免坍塌和形成大的不均匀的气室的量使用。在一些实施方案中,该表面活性剂占泡沫形成组合物的0.05至10重量%、替代地0.1至6重量%。
包含在本发明的结构隔热板的泡沫中的发泡剂包括以下的一种或多种:1,1,1,3,3-五氟丙烷(HFC-245fa)、1,1,1,2-四氟乙烷(HFC-134a)、反式-1-氯-3,3,3-三氟丙烯(HCFO-1233zd(E))和1,1,1,4,4,4-六氟-2-丁烯(FEA-1100)、正戊烷、环戊烷或异戊烷,和任选较少量的水。在一些实施方案中,该发泡剂以基于泡沫形成制剂的重量的2至30重量份(pbw)的量存在;在其它实施方案中,其以5-25pbw的量存在。
当进行多元醇组分与多异氰酸酯的反应时,在一些实施方案中,多异氰酸酯的量使得异氰酸酯指数为90至400,替代地为95至150。本发明的泡沫的异氰酸酯指数可以在这些值的任意组合的范围内,包括所列举的值。“异氰酸酯指数”指的是异氰酸酯基团数量除以异氰酸酯反应性基团数量的商再乘以100。本发明中的泡沫形成制剂优选在室温下为液体。
实施例
通过以下实施例进一步举例说明本发明,但本发明不限于此。所有以“份”和“百分比”给出的量应理解为按重量计,除非另有说明。
制备本发明的结构隔热板用于测试。这些板(样品1&2)用在该板面之一上的1/2英寸聚碳酸酯(MAKROLON,可购自BayerMaterialScience)和在横向面上的薄(20密耳)钢片材(样品1)或18密耳钢片材(样品2)构建,在所述面之间注入聚氨酯泡沫。图1显示了本发明的结构隔热板20的聚碳酸酯面5,其包括聚氨酯或聚异氰脲酸酯泡沫10和金属层15。图2举例说明了具有聚碳酸酯面25、聚氨酯或聚异氰脲酸酯泡沫30和金属层35的本发明的结构隔热板40的侧视图。
通过混合36.78份PolyolA(具有395毫克KOH/克的羟基数和4的官能度的芳族胺引发的聚醚多元醇,可获自BayerMaterialScience)、18.35份PolyolB(具有370-390毫克KOH/克的羟基数和5.8的官能度的基于蔗糖的聚醚多元醇,可获自BayerMaterialScience)、23.62份PolyolC(具有240毫克KOH/克的羟基数和2.0的官能度的芳族聚酯多元醇共混物,可获自StepanCo.)、1.67份含有大约45重量%乙二醇的有机硅氧烷泡沫稳定剂(可以作为TEGOSTABB8404获自Evonik)、0.35份叔胺催化剂(N,N'-二甲基环己胺,可以作为POLYCAT8获自AirProducts)、0.35份叔胺催化剂(五甲基二亚乙基三胺,可以作为DESMORAPIDPV获自RheinChemieCorporation)、1.76份水来制造该聚氨酯泡沫。向该混合物中添加17.12份发泡剂(1,1,1,3,3-五氟丙烷,可以作为HFC-245fa获自Honeywell)。该混合物随后与104.59份异氰酸酯(具有31.5%的NCO基团含量、2.8的官能度和在25℃下196mPa·s的粘度的聚合二苯基甲烷二异氰酸酯,可以作为MONDURMR商购自BayerMaterialScienceas)以1.046的A/B比在大约20分钟的停留时间的情况下反应以使得该泡沫粘合到该钢片材和聚碳酸酯片材上。
该实验要确定:(A)在没有机械紧固件的情况下,聚碳酸酯片材是否将充分粘合到聚氨酯泡沫上,和(B)评估所得板是否具有弹道特性。
对于(A),通过定向样品1或2使聚碳酸酯片材显示出粘合到聚氨酯泡沫上,使得聚碳酸酯片材在顶表面上,仅抓持该板的聚碳酸酯片材边缘,随后用手剧烈摇动该板。聚碳酸酯片材保持对两个样品的聚氨酯泡沫的粘附。在弹道测试过程中,要注意的是,用9毫米(弹头称重8克)和.44马格南子弹(弹头称重15.6克)射击具有钢片材面的样品2,在聚碳酸酯片材没有从该泡沫上脱离的情况下由钢片材一侧进入该板。类似地,在用.38特种弹头(Winchester,125gr.JHP)射击后,用薄钢片材构成的样品1的聚碳酸酯片材也保持对该泡沫的粘附。
图4显示了在本发明的结构隔热板的钢片材中.44马格南子弹(左)和9毫米子弹(右)的进入点。对于弹道测试,速度为1,448英尺/秒的.44马格南子弹完全穿过样品2。图6显示了.44马格南子弹(顶部)和9毫米子弹(底部)由本发明的结构隔热板的聚碳酸酯侧的出口点。由此,样品2的结构隔热板未能通过.44马格南子弹的这部分弹道测试。相反,具有1,225英尺/秒的较低速度的较小的9毫米子弹未能穿过样品2。
图3显示了在样品1的本发明的结构隔热板的钢片材中.38特种弹头的进入点。如参照图3和5可以理解的那样,当用.38特种子弹从12英尺处射击样品1的板时,该板阻止子弹穿过该板。图5显示了.38特种弹头由本发明的结构隔热板的聚碳酸酯侧的在右边的出口点。如在图5的左侧中所示,9毫米弹头没有通过该板。在两种情况下(9毫米和.38特种弹头),该板均通过弹道试验。
因此,由于它们的构造材料,本发明的板是轻质的,并可以快速的方式用通常可用的机械紧固件容易地组装成结构体。这样的机械紧固件包括但不限于螺钉、钉子、铆钉、互补螺母与螺栓、凸舌(tabs)、肘钉、凸轮锁扣(camlocks)和类似的机械闭锁装置。
可用于制造本发明的结构隔热板的各种实施方案的金属包括但不限于钢、铝、铁、铜、锡、铅、镍、黄铜、钛、锌以及这些金属任意的合金。
本发明人设想,本发明的板可以任选通过例如木材、金属和复合材料的材料加装外框。可以由这样的板组装坚固的、隔热的、临时或永久的庇护所用于在多种情况和环境下提供防护。
在本发明的一些实施方案中,该板并入了信号防御膜,如美国专利号7,405,872、7,295,368、7,177,075和6,859,310中所述的那些,其全部内容通过引用并入本文,其中组装的庇护所用于构建敏感资料隔离设施(“SCIFs”)。
