Description
BESCHREIBUNG
DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a multi-layer wall element with heat-insulating hard foam panels, outer protective layers and a profile frame enclosing the edges of the wall element.
Wall elements of this type are known in various embodiments. In order to meet the requirements for both good thermal insulation and high mechanical strength, it is also known to use a heat-insulating layer of e.g. B. foam plastic between two thinner layers of material with high mechanical strength.
The invention has for its object to find a wall element of the type mentioned, which, in addition to high mechanical strength and good thermal insulation, also ensures isolation from electromagnetic waves with a relatively small thickness and is also easy to produce.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that two hard foam panels, each provided with an outer protective layer, are provided, between which a metallic layer is enclosed, and in that the profile frame enclosing the edges of the wall element is electrically prevented from contacting the metallic layer.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a pair of profile legs is formed on the inside of the profile frame and encloses the edge of the metallic layer by clamping.
In order to have a high strength, e.g. B. to achieve splinter protection in military applications, the outer protective layer, which is present at least on one side or on both sides, is preferably made of plastic reinforced by Kevlar fibers. It can be made by impregnating a quilted mat made of Kevlar fabric.
The invention is described below with reference to the drawing.
A wall element, designated in its entirety by 1 and shown in a sectional view, has two outer protective layers 2, 3, for example made of Kevlar-reinforced plastic, which are glued to two thermally insulating inner rigid foam plates 4, 5 arranged between them and serving as support bodies. A perforated sheet 6 is arranged as a metallic layer between the plates 4, 5 and glued to the plates 4, 5. The sheet 6 serves to increase the mechanical protective effect, for example in the case of military use against splinters or projectiles, and can also cause electromagnetic shielding, for which purpose an electrical connection (not shown in more detail) is produced with a profile frame 7 enclosing the wall element 1.
The profile frame 7 has z. B. an H-shaped profile cross section with two mutually parallel legs 8 and 9, which include the outer protective layers 2, 3 without play or with prestress and are preferably glued to them. An outwardly projecting leg 10 serves as a flange for fastening the wall element 1, for example on a strut, not shown, of the housing of an electronic system, not shown. The good mechanical and thermal properties of the wall element 1, combined with the shielding against electromagnetic waves and the relatively low weight, have an advantageous effect particularly in the case of military use.
It goes without saying that, in particular, the outer part of the profile frame 7, depending on the intended use of the wall element 1, can be designed differently. For example, instead of the leg 10, a hollow profile can also be connected to the outside.
In order to facilitate the production of the wall element 1 and a good connection of the metallic layers or
of the perforated sheet 6 to achieve with the profile frame 7, the profile frame 7 has on its inside a molded profile leg pair 11, 12 whose internally rounded leg ends 13, 14 have a slightly smaller distance from each other than the sheet 6 thick before connection to the sheet 6 is, so that the pair of profile legs 11, 12 can be pushed with pretension over the edge 6t of the sheet 6 and the mechanical and electrical connection results in the same operation when the profile frame 7 is pushed over the edges of the wall element 1.
The effort required to slide on the profile frame 7 can be reduced if the rigid foam panels 4, 5 each have a correspondingly dimensioned cutout 15, 16 in the region of the pair of profile legs 11, 12, so that the pair of profile legs 11, 12 do not have to displace the rigid foam material. In addition, the sheet metal edge 6 'can be flattened outwards so that it can be pressed like a wedge between the profile leg pair 11, 12.
