Description

电子卡及其配套使用的接插件
本发明涉及印刷电路板与含有集成电路的电子卡之间的选择性连结,特别涉及电子卡及其配套使用的接插件的改进设计。
移动式计算装置变得越来越流行。人们期望的是,这类装置的功能取决于其专用电路,而该专用电路则可以由用户方便地装入其中。因此,如果用户想把此装置用作便携式小计算机,他就装入第一类电路。另一方面,如果用户想把此装置用作与全球定位系统相配的航行工具,他就可以取出第一类电路而装入第二类电路。为适应这一技术潮流,计算机工业着重开发了一种新型装置-个人计算机卡。为了实现标准化,计算机工业界成立了国际个人计算机存储卡协会(PCMCIA)。
当前的个人计算机卡能提供大容量数据存储和输入/输出能力、局部区域网、调制解调器和其它功能,但功耗低、数据存取速度快,且体积小,只有信用卡那样大小。个人计算机卡正以含有一个或多个集成电路的可更换的卡扩大或替代传统的存储器、大容量存储器和输入/输出装置,它的特征是,把功能或与外部设备的接口集中到一张单卡上。由于它们是可更换的,从而使得用户不需打开机壳就能扩大计算机的记忆、存储、通讯和其它能力。
当前国际个人计算机存储卡协会的个人计算机卡标准包括卡的尺寸、管脚功能分配、电气规格以及卡的规程和文件格式。该标准规定个人计算机卡为信用卡那样大小的小型可更换器件,可有三种规定的厚度。该卡在其一个短边上有以阵列排列的68个管脚插口,并且有8位和16位总线接口。
人们发现,卡的现有设计并非完全令人满意。例如,现有的68管脚接线对于将来的卡的高性能功能(32位和64位总线等等)来说是不够的。现有的68管脚接线仅当信号为多路复用时才能支持32位总线结构,从而增加了内务操作时间。通过接线增加边缘速率会由于缺乏足够的接地参考触点而造成信号整合(噪声)问题。而且,卡的现有管脚插口结构易受游积在插口内的碎屑的污染或损坏。因此,如果用户把一批这样的卡放在手提箱中,集积在手提箱中的灰尘和纤维屑就会进入卡的管脚插口中,基件上的纤细小管脚也可能受到损坏。现有的管脚和插口连结方法要求中心线对得很准,当管脚数大大超过68时就会产生对齐问题。此外,随着管脚数的增加,卡的插入或拔出力也相应增加。
因此本发明的目的是为电子卡及其配套使用的接插件提供一种新设计,它能提供200到300个信号触点和多个电源和接地触点。
本发明的另一个目的是提供如下一种设计,电源和接地触点在信号触点连结之前“接通”,而在信号触点断开后才“断开”。
电子卡装在壳体内,该壳体包括一般为长方形的第一和第二大面和连结第一和第二大面的四个一般为长方形的小面。电子卡包括集成电路以及其上的若干接触片。接触片通过壳体的第一大面露出在规定区域内。一护罩可在第一位置和第二位置之间移动,它在第一位置上时,上述规定区域被它盖住;它在第二位置上时,上述规定区域被打开。
下面参照附图用例子对本发明进行说明。附图中:

现参看附图,本发明的电子卡10包括装有集成电路的壳体12。壳体12由一般为长方形的第一大面14、第二大面16(图5)和连结第一大面和第二大面14、16的4个边上的小面18、20、22、24构成。大面14、16的尺寸与标准信用卡大致相同。
与壳体12内电路连结的若干接触片露出在面14的规定区域内。因此,接触片可直接位于面14上,或者,通过面14的开口露出在内部印刷线路板上。这些接触片最好包括第一组电源和接地片26和第二组信号片28。电源和接地片26比信号片28更靠近小面18,并且,电源和接地片26和信号片28之间由面14的其上设有接触片的区域30隔开。从图示可知,信号片组28是由240个接触片以交错的50×50密耳格棚组成的一个6×40阵列。
电子卡10还包括一个在面14上方且安装在壳体12上的护罩32,它可在第一和第二位置之间移动。并且,当护罩32在图1所示第一位置上时,它把所有接触片26、28罩住,而在图2所示第二位置上时,所有接触片26、28都露出。护罩最好用足够大的窗口34构成,窗口在护罩32上的位置使得护罩32在第一位置上时,窗口34暴露出设有接触片的区域30,如图1所示;而在护罩32在第二位置上时,窗口34暴露出信号片28,并从电源和接地片26处移开,使它们也露出,如图2所示。图1和图2还表示出,护罩32的第一位置比第二位置更靠近小面18。
护罩32可用金属或塑料制成,最好与把护罩装到标准的31/2英寸软盘上一样地把护罩32装到壳体12上。这一安装的一部分包括位于壳体12小面20上凹槽38内的弹簧件36(图4)。弹簧件36的一端40与护罩32连结,因此受压力而弯曲,其弹力把护罩32向第一位置偏置。
为了进行下文要详细交代的对齐,护罩32做有凹口42,壳体12在其小面20、24上做有一对凹槽44。如图1所示,当护罩32在第一位置上时,凹槽44被护罩32盖住。如图2所示,当护罩32在接触片26、28露出的第二位置上时,凹槽44与凹口42对齐。
上述电子卡10除非能与印刷电路板电连接,否则就是无用的。图3到图8表示出为使电子卡10与印刷电路板52电连结而设计的接插件50,该印刷电路板的一面上有接触片阵列54。接插件50包括底座56,底座56具有与印刷电路板52接触的第一平面58和相对的第二平面60。底座56可用螺丝或螺栓(未画出)等方法固定到印刷电路板52上。若干接触件放置在底座56上合适的固位槽61中。这些接触件分成第一组电源和接地接触件62和第二组信号接触件64。电源和接地接触件62与电子卡10上的电源和接地接触片26相对应;信号接触件64与电子卡10上的信号接触片28相对应。如通常的那样,接触件62、64与各自的印刷电路板接触片54电连结并露出在底座的第二面60上。
接插件50还包括空壳66。空壳66由一般均为长方形的第一大面68、第二大面70和4个把第一和第二大面68、70连结起来的小面72、74、76、78构成。空壳66的内部的大小使得电子卡10至少有一部分能放入其中。这部分电子卡上有接触片26、28。为使电子卡10能插入空壳66内,空壳66的小面72上有一足够大的开口80,以供电子卡10穿入。而且,空壳66的大面68上有一开口82(图8),当电子卡10在空壳66内就位时,此开口的大小和位置能使接触片26、28在开口82中对齐。
当电子卡10插入空壳66时为使护罩32克服弹簧36的偏置力而从第一位置移至第二位置,空壳66的小面74、78的内部分别设有挡肩84和86。当电子卡10通过开口80插入并且向里移入空壳66的内部时,电子卡壳体12通过挡肩84和86,但挡肩84和86挡住护罩32,使护罩32当电子卡10在空壳66内全部就位时从其第一位置移到第二位置。
为实现电子卡10上接触片26、28与印刷电路板52上接触片64之间的连结,空壳66用枢轴安装在底座36上。为此,空壳上设有一对凸耳88、90,它们分别为小面74和78上越过小面76的凸起。这两个凸耳88、90位于底座56的竖立部分92的两侧,其上分别开有处于同一直线上的孔94和96,以供枢轴销钉穿过,这些销钉穿入竖立部分92,为空壳66形成枢轴97(图6)。因此,当空壳66围绕枢轴转动使其大面68移向底座的表面60而合上时,面68上的开口82就会与露出的接触件62和64对齐并围住它们。把电子卡10装入空壳66中,再经过这样的转动,电子卡的接触片26和28就分别和接触件62、64相接。
如上所述,电子卡10装入空壳66中后,其电源和接地片26比信号片28更接近空壳66的枢轴97。同样,电源和接地接触件62比信号接触件64更靠近空壳66的枢轴97。因此,当空壳66围绕枢轴转向底座56时,电源和接地片26与电源和接地接触件62在信号片26与信号接触件64相接之前相接。相反,当空壳66围绕枢轴转离底座56时,信号片28在电源和接地片26脱离电源和接地接触件62之前脱离信号接触件64。这样,如所要求的,电源和接地在信号接通之前“接通”,而在信号断开以后才“断开”。
当空壳66绕枢轴转向底座56时,必须保证接触片26和28分别与接触件52和64对齐。为此,底座56上有一对间隔的凸柱98和100。这对凸柱98、100伸向空壳66。在空壳66的大面68上至少有一对其大小和间距能在空壳66转向底座56时分别容纳凸柱98和100的孔102和104。如图所示,空壳66的大面70上也有一对与孔102和104对齐的孔106和108,也用来使凸柱98和100插入。当电子卡10在空壳66内全部就位时,孔102、104、106和108与电子卡10的凹口42和凹槽44对齐。因此,电子卡10如此就位后,在空壳66围绕枢轴转向底座56时,凸柱98、100就穿过孔102、104;穿过凹口和凹槽42、44,再穿过孔106、108,从而使电子卡10的接触片26、28与接触件62、64完全对齐。
如图7所示,底座56竖立部分92的顶部最好与电子卡10要装到其上的设备的外表面110齐平。闩件112通过一定的设施(未画出)被装到该设备上。闩件112用弹簧偏置到实线所示位置,但可移向虚线所示位置。此外最好用弹性偏置装置116(图4)围绕空壳66的枢轴97逆时针偏置空壳66,如图7所示,使空壳66能越过该设备的外表面110。这与当今许多盒式录音机的结构相类似。因此,在空壳66如此偏置时,远离空壳66的枢轴轴线97的小面72上的开口80露出,从而可把电子卡10插进空壳66。然后克服弹簧116的弹力使空壳66围绕枢轴顺时针转动,直到靠上闩件112的斜面114。继续转动空壳66使得闩件112移向虚线所示位置,电子卡10便通过闩件。闩件112然后移回实线所示位置,把电子卡10和空壳66保持在其水平位置上,如图7所示,此时接触片26、28与接触件62、64相接。要更换电子卡10时,把闩件112移向虚线所示位置,空壳66由于弹簧116的弹力而“弹起”,电子卡10露出,即可更换电子卡。
因此,以上公开了电子卡及其配套使用的接插件的一种改进设计。尽管上面公开了本发明的一个示例性实施例,但应指出,本专业普通技术人员显然可对上述实施例作出种种变化和改动,本发明只受下列权利要求书的范围的限定。

Claims (10)

1、一种装在壳体中的电子卡,该壳体包括一般为长方形的第一大面和一般为长方形的第二大面以及把所述第一和第二大面连结成一体的四个一般为长方形的小面;电子卡上有集成电路和多个接触片,接触片露出在所述壳体的第一大面的规定区域内,其特征在于:
一护罩可在第一和第二位置间移动,并且,在该护罩在所述第一位置上时,所述区域被所述护罩盖住,而当该护罩在所述第二位置上时,所述规定区域被露出。
2、如权利要求1所述的电子卡,其特征在于,所述护罩上开有窗口,其大小至少与所述规定区域的表面积一样大。
3、如权利要求1或2所述的电子卡,其特征在于,所述接触片包括第一组电源和接地片和第二组信号片,所述第一组电源和接地片比第二组信号片更靠近所述小面中的第一小面;而且,所述护罩的第一位置比第二位置更靠近所述第一小面,所述窗口在所述护罩上的位置使得所述护罩在所述第二位置上时所述第二组信号片通过所述窗口露出。
4、如权利要求3所述的电子卡,其特征在于,所述第一组电源和接地片与第二组信号片之间被所述第一大面上的一个没有接触片的区域隔开,所述区域在所述护罩处在第一位置上时通过所述窗口露出。
5、如权利要求1、2、3或4所述的电子卡,其特征在于,所述的护罩通过弹簧向第一位置偏置。
6、一种使一面上具有接触片阵列的印刷电路板与权利要求1、2、3、4或5所述电子卡实现电连接的接插件,该接插件包括其上具有多个接触件的底座和以枢轴与该底座相连接从而能围绕该枢轴转动的空壳,空壳具有一般均为长方形的第一大面、第二大面和连结所述第一、第二大面的四个小面,该空壳的内部的大小使得至少包含规定区域的那部分电子卡能够放入其中,所述外壳小面中的一个小面上有一大小足够插入电子卡的开口,并且,所述空壳的第一大面上有一开口,其大小和位置使得电子卡在所述空壳内就位时所述壳体上的第一大面的规定区域对齐在所述空壳第一大面的开口中,其特征在于,在把壳体插入空壳中时护罩从第一位置被推到第二位置,从而露出所述接触片,在空壳围绕枢轴转向底座而基本合上时,印刷电路板表面上的接触片阵列就与接触片相接。
7、如权利要求6所述的接插件,其特征在于,所述接触件包括与所述第一组电源和接地接触片对应的第一组电源和接地接触件和与所述第二组信号接触片对应的第二组信号接触件;并且,当空壳围绕枢轴转向底座时,所述第一组电源和接地片在所述第二组信号片与第二组信号接触件相接之前与所述第一组电源和接地接触件相接。
8、如权利要求6或7所述的接插件,其特征在于,所述的空壳与电子卡相配合,使所述接触片与各自的接触件对齐。
9、如权利要求8所述的接插件,其特征在于,所述空壳的第一大面上有一对间距的孔,所述电子卡上有一对在所述电子卡插到所述空壳内的预定位置上时与上述孔对齐的凹槽,该接插件还包括一对固定在所述底座上的凸柱,此对凸柱可穿过上述空壳第一大面上的间隔的孔并穿过所述电子卡上的凹槽而使所述接触片与所述接触件对齐。
