II塑料瓶
已出乎意料地发现,用为均聚物或共聚物的PEF制得的塑料瓶对香料具有比PET或其它聚合物材料更好的抗龟裂和断裂性。不受理论的束缚,相对于香料,PEF比PET更好的抗龟裂和断裂性能可归因于含氧芳族呋喃环与类似的对苯二甲酸全烃芳环相比更高的极性,并且归因于PEF与PET相比更高的结晶度。PEF与PET之间的这些差异可改变PEF与香料之间的相互作用,以减少或甚至消除PEF瓶龟裂。
PEF通过呋喃-1,4-二羧酸(FDCA)和乙二醇(EG;也称为单乙二醇或MEG)的缩合反应制成,其类似于用于制备PET的EG和对苯二甲酸之间的缩合反应。FDCA可由糖通过酸脱水以形成羟基甲基糠醛(HMF)或其衍生物来制备。然后这些衍生物可氧化成FDCA。乙二醇常规地可来源于石油资源,其导致部分可再生的PEF(75%的碳是可再生资源的)或者乙二醇还可来源于植物的糖以产生完全可再生的PEF(100%的碳是可再生资源的)。来源于糖的EG可通过如下方法来制备:将糖发酵产生乙醇,将乙醇脱水产生生物乙烯,将生物乙烯氧化产生生物环氧乙烷,并且将生物环氧乙烷水解产生生物EG。
可用于本发明的其它聚合物材料的非限制性例子为PET;聚酯;聚酰胺(PA);聚碳酸酯(PC);聚甲醛(POM);聚丙烯腈(PAN);聚烯烃;聚乙烯(PE);聚丙烯(PP);含氟聚合物;聚(丁二酸丁二醇酯)(PBS);天然的、可再循环的、和再研磨类型的其它聚合物材料;生物基和石油基类型的其它聚合物材料;以及它们的混合物。生物基类型的其它聚合物材料可为部分或完全生物基的聚合物。再循环或再研磨类型的其它聚合物材料从通常称为PCR的消费品回收厂或通常称为PIR的工业回收源收集。
在一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含单层PEF。单层PEF对香料诸如柠檬烯和其它香料原料(prm)的抗性大于PET。此外,单层PEF能够满足塑料瓶必需的储存寿命期间的香料损耗要求,而PET单独地不能。
在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含多层其它聚合物材料。该多层将获得抗龟裂性的进一步改善并且增加瓶子寿命。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含多层其它聚合物材料,其中一层或多层包含PEF。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含多层其它聚合物材料,其中内层包含PEF。此在确保拉伸应力下的区域的抗龟裂性更高。在一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含多层其它聚合物材料,其中一层或多层包含PEF,并且其中所述其它层包含其它聚合物材料。
在一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含多层聚合物材料,其中至少一种该聚合物材料为阻隔材料。典型的阻隔材料延迟化合物传递通过它们,诸如以举例的方式但不限于水蒸气或氧气。阻隔材料的非限制性例子为聚(2,6-聚萘二甲酸乙二醇酯)(PEN);PA;液晶聚合物(LCP);乙烯-乙烯醇(EVOH);或它们的混合物。在另一个实施例中,阻隔材料为涂覆有阻隔涂层的聚合物材料。阻隔涂层的非限制性例子为SiO2;SiOx;Al2O3;AlOx;玻璃状涂层;金刚石状涂层;金属涂层;碳涂层;或它们的混合物。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶在外部或内部或两者涂覆有阻隔涂层。
在一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含PEF与一种或多种其它聚合物材料的共混物。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含PEF与一种或多种阻隔材料的共混物。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含至多约25重量%的可再循环的PET。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含PEF与可再循环的PET的共混物,其中可再循环的PET占该塑料瓶重量的至多约25重量%。在甚至另一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含可再循环的PET,该可再循环的PET包含于该塑料瓶内的单独层中。在一个实施例中,本发明的塑料瓶包含可再循环的PEF。在另一个实施例中,本发明的塑料瓶包含再研磨PEF。
PEF的有益效果可通过将能够清除各种分子诸如氧、水分等的各种化合物共混来增强。此类化合物的非限制性例子为可用于清除氧的金合欢烯。在一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含PEF与金合欢烯的共混物。
在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶基本上是透明的。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶包含一种或多种颜料或染料。该颜料经由着色剂母料掺入到瓶中。如本文所用,“着色剂母料”是指颜料以高浓度分散在载体材料中的混合物。着色剂母料用于对最终产品赋予颜色。在一些实施例中,载体材料是生物基塑料或石油基塑料,然而在另选的实施例中,载体是生物基的油或石油基的油。该载体也可为生物基蜡或石油基蜡。着色剂母料可全部或部分地来源于石油资源、全部或部分地来源于可再生资源或者全部或部分地来源于可再循环的资源。载体材料的非限制性例子为生物基或石油基聚乙烯(例如线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)、低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)、高密度聚乙烯(HDPE))、生物基油(例如橄榄油、油菜籽油、花生油、大豆油、或氢化的植物来源的油)、生物基蜡(例如)、石油基油、石油基蜡(例如)、可再循环的油、生物基或石油基PET、生物基或石油基聚丙烯、或它们的混合物。可来源于可再生资源或不可再生资源的载体内的颜料可包括以举例的方式但不限于无机颜料、有机颜料或染料、聚合物树脂、或它们的混合物。颜料的非限制性例子为二氧化钛(例如金红石或锐钛矿)、铜酞菁、氧化锑、氧化锌、碳酸钙、热解法二氧化硅、酞菁(例如酞菁蓝)、群青蓝、钴蓝、单偶氮颜料、重氮颜料、酸性染料、碱性染料、喹吖啶酮、以及它们的混合物。在一些实施例中,着色剂母料还可包括一种或多种添加剂,该添加剂可来源于可再生资源或不可再生资源。添加剂的非限制性例子为增滑剂、UV吸收剂、成核剂、UV稳定剂、热稳定剂、澄清剂、填料、增白剂、加工助剂、香料、调味剂、或它们的混合物。
在一个实施例中,塑料瓶还包括递送装置和阀门。递送装置可为任何已知的递送装置,其包括但不限于按钮致动器和多孔的烧结圆顶。该阀门控制香料组合物的流动。同样,可使用能够将香料组合物密封于塑料瓶中并且易于开启和关闭以控制香料组合物向递送装置释放的任何已知阀门。递送装置和阀均可由任何材料制成,该材料包括但不限于金属、塑料或玻璃。PEF可用于制备可被胶合或焊接到塑料瓶以替代典型的金属阀门的塑性阀门。
在一个实施例中,塑料瓶还包括标签。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶还包括标签,其中该标签包含PEF。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶还包括顶盖。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶还包括顶盖,其中该顶盖包含PEF。
在一些实施例中,在任何方面,可通过使用直接配混(即在线配混),将颜色赋予本发明的标签、顶盖、递送体系、和阀门。在这些实施例中,在注塑、吹塑或膜生产线的开始位置放置双螺杆配混机,并且在临制品形成之前将添加剂(诸如颜料)共混到树脂中。
在任何方面,可将附加材料掺入到本发明的塑料瓶、标签、顶盖、递送体系和阀门中,以改善塑料的强度或其它物理特性。此类附加材料的非限制性例子为无机盐(例如碳酸钙、硫酸钙、滑石、粘土和纳米粘土)、氢氧化铝、CaSiO3、玻璃纤维、玻璃球、结晶二氧化硅(例如石英、novacite、和crystallobite)、氢氧化镁、云母、硫酸钠、锌钡白、碳酸镁、氧化铁、或它们的混合物。
在一个实施例中,塑料瓶、顶盖和标签由至多50重量%可再循环PEF与PEF或其它聚合物材料的共混物制得。在另一个实施例中,塑料瓶、顶盖和标签由多层结构中至多50重量%的可再循环PEF制得。在另一个实施例中,至多100重量%的塑料瓶、顶盖和标签由可再循环的PEF制得。
PEF瓶可与PET一起再循环。作为另外一种选择,可设置仅用于PEF的单独再循环流。希望用于香料组合物的塑料瓶是可再循环的,尤其是在其中存在很多再循环基础设施的北美和其他发达国家。例如,美国的一些州(例如California和Oregon)要求消费品公司将他们的瓶子制成可再循环的。
本发明的瓶子可采用吹塑制得。吹塑是由热塑性材料形成中空塑料部件的制造工艺。吹塑工艺开始是熔化热塑性材料并使之形成为型坯或预成型件。型坯为管状的塑料件,其中一端带有压缩空气可穿过的孔。使用加压气体(通常为空气)使型坯或热的预成型件膨胀并使之挤压模具腔体。保持压力,直到塑料冷却。在塑料已冷却并硬化后,打开模具并弹出部件。
吹塑有三种主要类型:挤坯吹塑(EBM)、注坯吹塑(IBM)和注射拉伸吹塑(ISBM)。在挤坯吹塑中,将熔融塑料管挤入模具腔体中并用压缩空气使之膨胀。筒的一端夹紧封闭。在塑料部件已经冷却后将其从模具中取出。这些容器可以是单层或多层的。
注坯吹塑涉及三个步骤:注坯、吹塑和弹出。首先,将熔融聚合物给料到歧管中,其在歧管中通过喷嘴被注入中空的加热预型件模具。预型件模具形成所得容器的外部形状,并夹绕形成预成型件的内部形状的芯轴(芯棒)。预成型件由完全成形的瓶/广口瓶颈构成,其中后者附接有厚的聚合物管,其将形成主体。预型件模具打开并且旋转芯棒并夹入中空的冷却吹塑模具。芯棒打开并允许压缩空气进入预成型件,这使之膨胀到成品形状。冷却期过后,打开吹塑模具并将芯棒转动到弹出位置。将成品剥离芯棒并进行裂漏测试。本文所述的注坯吹塑以及其它吹塑方法用于形成嵌有生物基聚合物的制品部件。注坯吹塑可用于生产包含生物基聚合物的共混物的容器。
注射拉伸吹塑是用于由预成型件或型坯生产塑料瓶的方法,当预成型件被吹塑成其所期望的容器形状时,该预成型件或型坯在环向和轴向上被拉伸。在ISBM方法中,首先采用注塑工艺将塑料模塑成“预成型件”。生产的这些带有容器的颈预成型件,包括螺纹。封装预成型件,并且在冷却后给料至再加热的拉伸吹塑机中。将预成型件加热高于它们的玻璃化转变温度,然后采用金属吹塑模具,使用高压空气吹塑成瓶子。通常,拉伸预成型件,其中芯棒作为所述方法的一部分。注射拉伸吹塑可用于制备本发明的瓶子。
可采用膜挤出形成本发明的标签。在膜挤出中,将热塑性材料熔化并形成为连续的型材。在一些实施例中,共挤出多层膜。可通过本领域技术人员已知的任何方法进行膜挤出和共挤出。膜层可由包括PEF、PET、PP和PE在内的多种材料形成。在一个实施例中,标签包含天然PEF。在另一个实施例中,标签包含可再循环的PEF。在另一个实施例中,标签包含再研磨PEF。在一个实施例中,标签包含其它聚合物材料。本发明的标签可使用压敏粘合剂或使用缩膜标签施用。
本发明的顶盖可使用注塑或热成形形成。注塑可用于制备单层盖或多层盖。顶盖可由包括PEF、PET、PP和PE在内的多种材料形成。在一个实施例中,顶盖是热成型的并且包含天然PEF。在另一个实施例中,顶盖包含可再循环的PEF。在另一个实施例中,顶盖包含再研磨PEF。在一个实施例中,顶盖是热成型的并且包含天然PET。在另一个实施例中,顶盖包含可再循环的PET。在另一个实施例中,顶盖包含再研磨PET。在一个实施例中,顶盖包含其它聚合物材料。
III香料组合物
本发明的香料组合物可包含香料和溶剂。该香料可合成制得或从植物源或动物源提取。该溶剂可为乙醇、水和乙醇的混合物、分级椰子油、或液体蜡。在一个实施例中,溶剂为乙醇或水和乙醇的混合物。在另一个实施例中,溶剂为乙醇。
本发明的香料组合物可包括任何类型的香料,诸如以举例的方式但不限于香料提取物、香精(ESdP)、浓香水(EdP)、淡香水(EdT)、古龙水(EdC)、香雾、和洒水(EdS)。而且,本发明的香料组合物可包含前调、中调和基调芳香剂的任何组合。此外,本发明的香料组合物可包含来自Michael Edwards在“Fragrances of the World”第29版(Sydney)中所述芳香剂环中各种“芳香剂类别”的各个组分或混合物。在芳香剂环中,四种标准类别是花香型、东方香型、木香型和清新香型,它们继而分成亚类(例如在花香型类别中:花香型、柔和花香型、东方花香型),并且排列成环,每类与下一类相关。香料组合物可包含以举例的方式但不限于来自主类和亚类的组分或混合物,包括单一花香型、百花香型、东方香型、木香型、皮革香型、素心兰香型、蕨香型、明亮花香型、草绿香型、水质香型、海洋香型、海风香型、柑橘香型、果香型、或甜食香型。本发明的香料组合物可包含来自各种天然源的组分或混合物,如但不限于树皮、花朵、花簇、果实、叶、嫩枝、树脂、根、根茎、鳞茎、种子、木材、龙涎香、海狸香、麝猫香、蹄兔香、蜂巢、麝鹿香、地衣、海藻、合成源、或它们的混合物。
在另一个实施例中,本发明的香料组合物可包含选自单萜、倍半萜烯、二萜、它们衍生物、以及它们混合物的组分。单萜和它们衍生物的非限制性例子为薄荷醇、香草醛、芳樟醇、玫瑰醇、和柠檬烯。倍半萜烯和它们衍生物的非限制性例子为α-和β-白檀油烯醇、广霍香醇和降四广霍香醇。二萜和它们衍生物的非限制性例子为香紫苏醇。本发明的其它香料组合物可包含描述于美国专利5,919,752中的香料,所述文献以引用的方式并入本文。
IV测试和计算方法
阻隔特性可经由水蒸气传输速率(WVTR;ASTM F-1249)和氧气透过速率(OTR;ASTM D3985)测量直接获得。
通过在应变(0.25%,0.5%,和1%)下,将ASTM埃左棒(ASTMD256-10)或由瓶子外壳切出的埃左尺寸部件放置于顶部空间中或与产品直接接触(25℃或40℃下一个月),然后光学/SEM/TEM表征,测定环境胁迫断裂抗性。通过在应力(1390psi)下将ASTM V型犬骨试棒(ASTMD638-10)放置于顶部空间中或与产品直接接触(25℃或40℃下1周)并且沿标距测定尺寸变化,测定蠕变阻力。
采用ASTM D6866方法测定材料的生物基含量,所述方法经由加速器质谱法、液体闪烁计数和同位素质谱法,采用放射性碳分析,能够测定材料的生物基含量。当大气中的氮受到紫外光产生的中子撞击时,它丢失一个质子并形成具有分子量14的碳,该碳是放射性的。这个14C立即被氧化成二氧化碳,其提供一个小的、但是可测量的大气碳部分。大气的二氧化碳通过绿色植物进行循环以在称为光合作用的过程中产生有机分子。当绿色植物或其它形式的生命代谢有机分子产生二氧化碳时,该循环结束,这引起二氧化碳的释放,使其返回大气。实际上地球上所有形式的生命依赖这种绿色植物生产有机分子以产生促进生长和繁殖的化学能量。因此,在大气中存在的14C变成所有生命形式和它们的生物产物的一部分。这些基于可再生的有机分子生物降解成二氧化碳,它们不会引起全球变暖,因为无净增的碳被释放到大气中。与之相反,化石燃料基碳不具有大气二氧化碳的标记放射性碳比率。参见以引用方式并入本文的WO 2009/155086。
用以导出“生物基含量”的ASTM D6866的应用建立在与放射性碳年代测定法相同的概念上,但未使用年龄方程。该分析通过获得未知样品中放射性碳(14C)的量与现代参考标准品中放射性碳的量的比率来进行。将该比率称之为百分比,以“pMC”(现代碳百分比)作为单位。如果被分析的材料为现代放射性碳和化石碳(不包含放射性碳)的混合物,那么得到的pMC值与存在于样品中的生物质材料的量直接相关。在放射性碳年代测定法中所用的现代基准标准品为NIST(National Institute of Standards andTechnology)标准品,具有已知的放射性碳含量,相当于大约公元1950年。选择公元1950年是由于它代表在热核武器测试之前的时间,该测试随着每次爆炸(术语“碳爆炸”)向大气中引入了大量的过量放射性碳。公元1950的基准表示为100pMC。测试显示,在热核武器测试结束之前,由于“碳爆炸”作用大气中的放射性碳含量在1963年达到峰值,达到正常水平的近两倍。它在大气中的分布自其出现以来便受到评估,并自公元1950年以来对于植物和动物显示出大于100pMC的值。碳爆炸的分布已经随时间而逐渐下降,目前的值接近107.5pMC。因此,新的生物质材料例如玉米可能导致放射性碳标记接近107.5pMC。
石油基碳不具有大气二氧化碳的标记放射性碳比率。研究已经注意到化石燃料和石油化学制品具有小于约1pMC,通常小于约0.1pMC,例如小于约0.03pMC。然而,完全衍生自可再生资源的化合物具有至少约百分之95的现代碳(pMC),优选至少约99pMC,例如约100pMC。
将化石碳与现代碳结合到一种材料中将降低当代pMC含量。将107.5pMC的当代生物质材料和0pMC的石油衍生物混合,测得的材料的pMC值将反应两种组分的比例。100%源自当代大豆的材料显示接近107.5pMC的放射性碳测量结果。如果此种材料用50%的石油衍生物稀释,那么测量结果接近于54pMC。
通过指定100%等于107.5pMC并且指定0%等于0pMC,导出生物基含量的结果。在这方面,测量值为99pMC的样品将给出93%的等同生物基含量结果。
本文所述的材料评估是根据ASTM D6866进行的,特别是按照方法B。平均值涵盖6%的绝对范围(在生物基含量值的任一侧加上和减去3%)以说明端组分放射性碳标记的变化。假定所有材料在白天提供或为初始状态的化石,并且假定期望的结果是“存在”于材料中的生物组分的量,不是在制造过程中“使用”的生物材料的量。
评定材料生物基含量的其它技术描述于美国专利3,885155、4,427,884、4,973,841、5,438,194和5,661,299以及WO 2009/155086中,将所述文献各自以引用的方式并入本文。
例如,PEF在其单体单元中包含八个碳原子。如果PEF完全衍生自可再生资源,则它在理论上具有100%的生物基含量,因为所有碳原子均衍生自可再生资源。如果PEF单体单元的芳族部分衍生自可再生资源,则它理论上具有75%的生物基含量。
给出以上描述仅用于理解清楚,并且不应从中理解为不必要的限制,因为本发明范围内的修改对本领域普通技术人员而言是显而易见的。
本文所公开的尺寸和数值不应被理解为严格限于所述确切数值。相反,除非另外指明,每个上述尺寸旨在表示所述值以及该值附近的函数等效范围。例如,所公开的尺寸“40mm”旨在表示“约40mm”。

1.一种用于容纳香料组合物的塑料瓶,其中所述塑料瓶包含聚(2,5-呋喃二甲酸乙二醇酯)(PEF)。
2.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的塑料瓶,其中所述塑料瓶还包括递送装置和阀门。
3.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的塑料瓶,其中所述塑料瓶还包括标签并且所述标签包含PEF。
4.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的塑料瓶,其中所述塑料瓶还包括顶盖并且所述顶盖包含PEF。
5.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的塑料瓶,其中所述香料组合物包含来自芳香剂主类和亚类的组分或混合物;并且其中所述芳香剂主类和亚类选自单一花香型、百花香型、东方香型、木香型、皮革香型、素心兰香型、蕨香型、明亮花香型、草绿香型、水质香型、海洋香型、海风香型、柑橘香型、果香型、甜食香型。
6.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的塑料瓶,其中所述香料组合物包含来自天然源的组分;并且其中所述天然源选自树皮、花朵、花簇、果实、叶、嫩枝、树脂、根、根茎、鳞茎、种子、木材、龙涎香、海狸香、麝猫香、蹄兔香、蜂巢、麝鹿香、地衣、海藻、合成源、以及它们的混合物。
7.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的塑料瓶,其中所述香料组合物包含选自单萜、倍半萜烯、二萜、它们衍生物、以及它们的混合物的组分。
