背景技术
移动设备(例如移动通信设备)一般地包括各种应用，包括例如因特网通信、即时消息传递能力、电子邮件设施、Web浏览和搜索。为了避免对设备的应用的无意激活，设备通常包括锁定模式，在该模式中显示特定信息，然而，在空闲状态下对设备的任何用户输入都将被忽略，除非解锁设备。典型地，解锁设备可能需要操纵例如设备的一个或多个键、指纹传感器、键组合和数字代码。在大多数情况下，当解锁设备时，所呈现的用户接口是由设备预先确定的。假定这种设备具有可用的各种应用和应用层，那么，能够容易地解锁设备并且直接移动到所期望的用户接口或应用将是有利的。

在一个实施例中，对应用区域202、204的照亮或突出显示可以取决于特定应用区域是如何“活动”的而具有若干不同的程度。例如，当屏幕201处在锁定或失活(inactive)状态下时，照亮或突出显示可以从标准模式设置成被减少或暗淡化70％(30％的照亮水平)。可以在60％照亮水平的情况下显示在被选择时确实没有变成活动或完全活动的应用(例如可被暂时照亮的时钟)。对于可以变成完全活动的应用，照亮水平可以是正常水平的90％(暗淡10％)。在备选实施例中，可以使用任何适当的照亮或暗淡设置。

在一个实施例中，可以相对于在显示器200上呈现的图标(例如202和204)的数目来适当地配置图标206的形状。如图2B所示，图标210的形状大致上为正方形。在备选实施例中，可以使用任何适当的几何形状，包括例如矩形、圆形、三角形或锥形。在一个实施例中，图标210的形状在其扩展时可以作为在显示器200的中央区域中的点，并且可朝着显示器200的期望边缘向外延伸和扩展。图标210的宽度可以扩展以便涵盖和展现在图标210的移动路径中的应用和元件。关于图2D示出了这样的例子。这里，图标230在被移动和拖拽时，其形状或区域从原点按照锥形的形状向外扩展，类似于来自手电筒的光束232。锥形232的区域展现了应用234，并且在其到达显示区域238的边缘236时，设备解锁并开启应用234。在一个实施例中，再次地，这里可能需要用户利用另一动作来确认解锁操作。
当用户已经移动或扩展了图标210的大小以便涵盖用户接口元件或应用的集合和期望区域时，用户可以选择对设备进行解锁。这可以包括：到达解锁区域(例如显示区域的边缘)、在屏幕上长按、双击或轻点，或者保持和释放达到预定的时间段。在备选实施例中，可以使用任何适当的机制来在突出显示或选择区域之后从失活状态解锁设备。当设备解锁并将状态转变成活动模式时，显示与所选图标(在该例中是图标204)相关联的用户接口元件222、224，如图2C所示。图2C中的显示器220可以表示活动空闲模式或状态。在一个实施例中，活动空闲模式指的是设备上的空闲屏幕。例如，空闲屏幕可以呈现这样的图像、图标、文本和对象，即，当所述图像、图标、文本和对象被选择和/或激活时，其提供对于与设备的空闲状态相关联的特定程序和应用的直接访问或快捷方式。在该例中，图2A的表示通信应用的图标204开启对于联系人222和应用224的用户接口元件。这向用户提供了：在从失活状态解锁设备之前，为设备确定将要开启到的用户接口元件的集合或应用。用户选择在解锁设备之后将要直接转到哪个屏幕。
在一个实施例中，参照图2A和图3，用户可以选择或接触暗淡图标202和204以便确定底层应用的状态、使用或功能，而无需解锁设备或开启应用。例如，在图2A中，暗淡图标202表示时间或时钟应用。在暗淡模式下，当锁定设备时，也许不可能查看应用的任何功能，例如当前时间。然而，所公开的实施例的特征允许图标202被接触以便暂时照亮或以某种方式突出显示图标，如图3中的图标302所示。可描述为被动活动状态(passive active state)的该状态允许对应用(例如时钟)的暂时激活。这也被称为“半活动”状态。如图3所示，当选择该区域时，照亮时钟应用图标302，并且当前时间是可用的和能够被查看的，特别是相对于暗淡的和/或变暗的背景304。在备选实施例中，可以实现用于暂时突出显示所选图标的任何适当的方法。时钟功能被暂时照亮，但其并不变得完全活动。图标302可以保持被照亮达预定的时间段，例如5秒。这允许快速激活用于被动信息聚集(passive information gathering)的高级用户接口元件，同时设备保持在空闲和锁定模式下。
在一个实施例中，有可能通过类似于用于将状态从失活变成活动的过程来锁定设备，或者将设备的状态从活动变成失活。例如，当处在活动状态时，用户可以选择图标210并将图标210移至显示器的锁定区域。出于示例性目的，将该区域描述为显示器的边缘区域。一旦设备处于活动模式，则被描述为“解锁”区域的范围现在可变为“锁定”区域。一旦将图标移至锁定区域，则设备可以改变状态。
在一个实施例中，当图标210被移至锁定区域时，在设备改变状态之前可能要求来自用户的确认。在一个实施例中，这可以是在图标210上的轻点、长按或接触或者其它动作。例如，用户将图标206拖拽到锁定区域。用户可以轻点图标206，并且然后释放。在另一应用区域(例如区域202)上的轻点可以确认锁定模式。在一个实施例中，用户将图标206拖拽到锁定区域，并且一旦图标206处于该区域中，则锁定功能便在该设备的键上变成启用。按压该键将使得设备锁定并进入失活模式。可选地，如先前所述，在屏幕上形成图案或图像可以使得设备改变状态。
可以在包括用于显示和访问信息的用户接口的任何设备(例如图1中所示的系统100)上实现所公开实施例的各方面。在一个实施例中，输入设备104包括在上面可显示图标202、204、206和其它内容的触摸屏显示器112。在输入模块104中接收来自用户的输入和命令(例如对屏幕的触摸)，并将其传递至导航模块122用于处理。导航模块122可以确定和设置设备的状态。在一个实施例中，在触摸屏显示器112中实现的输出设备106可从用户接口102、应用180和贮存设备182接收数据，用于向用户输出。这样的设备的例子包括无线和有线设备、移动通信设备、因特网图形输入板，以及触摸板。
输入设备104和输出设备106均被配置以便：接收任何格式下的数据或信号，将该数据或信号配置成与应用或设备100兼容的格式，然后输出所配置的数据或信号。虽然将显示器114示为输出设备106的一部分，但是在其它实施例中，输出设备106还可以包括向用户传送或呈现信息的其它组件和设备，包括例如音频设备和触觉设备。
用户输入设备104可以包括允许用户与设备100交互和向设备100输入信息和命令的控件。例如，对于这里所描述的实施例，用户接口102可以包括触摸屏显示器。输出设备106可以被配置以便提供这里所示的示例性屏幕照片的内容，这是借由显示器114的功能性而向用户呈现的。在使用触摸屏设备的情况下，显示器112和114可以包括相同的显示器或相同显示器的一部分。例如通过输入设备104的触摸屏输入控件112来处理对于触摸屏显示器的用户输入。输入设备104还可以被配置以便处理对于系统100的新内容和通信。导航模块122可以提供控制和菜单选择，并处理命令和请求。可由菜单控制系统124来提供应用和内容对象。处理控制系统132可以接收和解释命令和其它输入，与应用模块180、贮存设备180相接，以及按照需要提供内容。因而，这里所描述的实施例的用户接口102可以包括输入设备104和输出设备106的多个方面。
关于图4A和图4B说明了可在上面实践所公开实施例的多个方面的设备的例子。终端或移动通信设备400可以具有键板410和显示器420。键板410可以包括任何适当的用户输入设备，例如像多功能/滚动键430、软键431、432、呼叫键433、结束呼叫键434，以及字母数字键435。显示器420可以是任何适当的显示器，例如像触摸屏显示器或图形用户接口。显示器可以整合于设备400，或者显示器可以是连接至设备400的外围显示器。例如，可以与显示器420一起使用指点设备，诸如指示笔、钢笔或简单起见用户手指。在备选实施例中，可以使用任何适当的指点设备。在其它备选实施例中，显示器可以是常规显示器。设备400还可以包括其它适当的特征，例如像照相机、扬声器、连接端口或触觉反馈特征。移动通信设备可以具有与显示器相连的处理器401，用于处理用户输入和在显示器420上显示信息。存储器402可以连接至处理器401，用于存储与移动通信设备402相关联的任何适当的信息和/或应用，例如电话簿条目、日历条目等。
在设备400包括移动通信设备的实施例中，该设备可适于在如图6所示的电信系统中通信。在这样的系统中，可以在移动终端600与其它设备(诸如另一移动终端606、线路电话632、个人计算机651或因特网服务器622)之间实现各种电信服务，例如，蜂窝语音呼叫、www/wap浏览、蜂窝视频呼叫、数据呼叫、传真传输、音乐传输、静态图像传输、视频传输、电子消息传输和电子商务。应注意，对于移动终端600的不同实施例并且在不同情形下，上文指出的电信服务中的一些可以是可用的，或者可以是不可用的。所公开实施例的多个方面并不限于在这个方面的任何特定的服务集。
移动终端600、606可经由基站604、609通过射频(RF)链路602、608而连接至移动电信网络610。移动电信网络610可以兼容于任何商业可用的移动电信标准，例如GSM、UMTS、D-AMPS、CDMA2000、(W)CDMA、WLAN、FOMA和TD-SCDMA。
移动电信网络610可以在操作上连接至广域网620，后者可以是因特网或其一部分。因特网服务器622具有数据贮存器624，并连接至广域网620，就好像因特网客户机计算机626那样。服务器622可以托管能够向移动终端600提供www/wap内容的www/wap服务器。
公共交换电话网(PSTN)630可以按照类似方式而连接至移动电信网络610。各种电话终端(包括固定电话632)可以连接至PSTN630。
移动终端600还能够经由本地链路601或651而与一个或多个本地设备603或650进行本地通信。本地链路601或651可以是具有有限范围的任何适当类型的链路，例如像蓝牙、通用串行总线(USB)链路、无线通用串行总线(WUSB)链路、IEEE802.11无线局域网(WLAN)链路、RS-232串行链路等。本地设备603可以是例如能够在本地链路601上向移动终端600传达测量值的各种传感器。以上例子并不旨在加以限制，并且可以利用任何适当类型的链路。本地设备603可以是天线和形成实现微波存取全球互通(WiMAX，IEEE802.16)、WiFi(IEEE802.11x)或其它通信协议的WLAN的支持设备。WLAN可连接至因特网。因而，移动终端600可以具有使用移动通信网络610、WLAN或这二者进行无线连接的多无线电能力。还可以使用WiFi、WiMax或任何其它适当的协议来实现与移动电信网络610的通信，并且这样的通信可利用无线电频谱的未授权部分(例如未授权的移动接入(UMA))。在一个实施例中，图1的导航模块122包括被配置以便与关于图6所述的系统进行交互的通信模块。
在一个实施例中，图1的系统100可以是例如图4B中所示的PDA型设备440。PDA440可以具有键板441、触摸屏显示器442，以及在触摸屏显示器442上使用的指点设备443。在另一可选实施例中，设备可以是个人通信器、平板计算机、膝上型或桌上型计算机、电视或电视机顶盒，或者能够含有显示器442和支持电子装置(诸如处理器和存储器)的任何其它适当的设备。将参照仅用于示例性目的的移动通信设备400来描述这里的示例性实施例，并且应当理解，可以将实施例等同地应用于并入了显示器、处理器、存储器和支持软件或硬件的任何适当的设备。
图1的用户接口102还可以在导航模块122中包括菜单系统124。导航模块122提供对设备100的特定状态、处理和使用的控制。菜单系统124可以提供对于与设备100上运行的应用或程序相关的不同工具和应用选项的选择。在这里公开的实施例中，导航模块122接收特定的输入，例如，与设备100的功能相关的信号、传输、指令或命令。取决于这些输入，导航模块解释命令并相应地指导处理控件132执行命令。
激活控件通常包括选择或激活与设备相关联的功能的任何适当的方式，包括触摸、按压或移动输入设备。在一个实施例中，在输入设备104包括控件110(其在一个实施例中可包括具有键板的设备)的情况下，按压键可以激活功能。可选地，在输入设备104的控件110还包括多功能摇杆型开关的情况下，可以使用该开关来选择菜单项目和/或选择或激活功能。当输入设备104包括控件112(其在一个实施例中可包括触摸屏板)时，用户与触摸屏的接触会提供必要的输入。还可以使用语音命令和其它触敏输入设备。
尽管将以上实施例描述为在移动通信设备上或通过移动通信设备来实现，然而可以理解，可以在任何适当的设备上实践所公开的实施例。例如，图1的设备100通常可以包括任何适当的电子设备，例如像个人计算机、个人数字助理(PDA)、移动终端、具有蜂窝/移动电话形式的移动通信终端，或者多媒体设备或计算机。在备选实施例中，图1的设备100可以是个人通信器、移动电话、平板计算机、膝上型或桌上型计算机、电视或电视机顶盒、DVD或高清晰度播放器，或者能够含有例如图1中所示的显示器114以及诸如图4的处理器401和存储器402这样的支持电子装置的任何其它适当的设备。出于描述的目的，这里所描述的实施例将参照仅用于示例性目的的移动通信设备，并且应当理解，可以将这些实施例等同地应用于并入了显示器、处理器、存储器和支持软件或硬件的任何适当的设备。
参照图1，设备100的显示器114可以包括任何适当的显示器，例如先前提及的那些显示器、触摸屏显示器或图形用户接口。在一个实施例中，显示器114可以整合于设备100。在备选实施例中，显示器可以是连接或耦合至设备100的外围显示器。可以与显示器114一起使用指点设备，例如像指示笔、钢笔或简单起见用户手指。在备选实施例中，可以使用任何适当的指点设备。在其它备选实施例中，显示器可以是任何适当的显示器，例如像典型地由具有任选的背景光的LCD所构成的平板显示器114，诸如能够显示彩色图像的TFT矩阵。可以使用触摸屏来代替常规的LCD显示器。
设备100还可以包括其它适当的特征，例如像照相机、扬声器、连接端口或触觉反馈特征。
所公开的实施例还可以包括合并了在不同计算机中执行的上述过程步骤和指令的软件和计算机程序。图5是典型装置500的一个实施例的框图，其并入了可用于实践本发明的多个方面的特征。装置500可以包括计算机可读程序代码装置，用于实现和执行这里所描述的过程步骤。如图所示，计算机系统502可以链接于另一计算机系统504，从而使得计算机502和504能够向彼此发送信息以及从彼此接收信息。在一个实施例中，计算机系统502可以包括适于与网络506通信的服务器计算机。计算机系统502和504可以按照任何常规方式(包括例如调制解调器、无线、硬线连接或光纤链路)链接在一起。通常，可以使用典型地在通信信道上发送的通信协议或通过在ISDN线路上的拨号连接，使得信息可用于计算机系统502和504这二者。计算机502和504通常适于利用程序贮存设备，例如存储器，其体现了机器可读程序源代码(其适于使得计算机502和504实现这里所公开的方法步骤)。合并了本发明的多个方面的程序贮存设备可被设计、制作和用作机器组件，其利用光、磁特性和/或电子装置来实现这里所公开的过程和方法。在备选实施例中，程序贮存设备可以包括磁介质，诸如磁盘或计算机硬驱动器，其是可由计算机读取和执行的。在另一备选实施例中，程序贮存设备可以包括光盘、只读存储器(“ROM”)软盘和半导体材料和芯片。
计算机系统502和504还可以包括用于执行所存储的程序的微处理器。计算机502可以在其程序贮存设备上包括数据贮存设备508，用于存储信息和数据。可以将合并了含有本发明多个方面的过程和方法步骤的计算机程序或软件存储于一个或多个计算机502和504中在别的常规程序贮存设备上。在一个实施例中，计算机502和804可以包括用户接口510，以及可以从中访问本发明的多个方面的显示器接口512。用户接口510和显示器接口512可以适于允许向系统输入查询和命令，以及呈现命令和查询的结果。
所公开的实施例一般地向选择用户接口元件的集合或应用的用户提供了以下内容：设备将从空闲和锁定模式开启。可以将小图标朝着设备的显示器边缘拖拽，以便启动解锁过程。在图标被移动或拖拽时，图标可以扩展以便在该图标下方或者在该图标行进路径的下方展现一个或多个活动区域。用户可以关于屏幕移动图标，以便为设备找到将要开启到或进入的期望应用或活动区域。当用户将图标移至基本上在设备的显示器的边缘处或附近时，设备可以从空闲/锁定模式转变到活动/解锁模式。因而，所公开的实施例提供了一种用于解锁触摸屏设备的直观方式和物理方法。
应当理解，以上描述仅是对实施例的说明。在不背离实施例的情况下，本领域的技术人员可以设计出各种备选方案和修改。相应地，所公开的实施例旨在包括落入所附权利要求范围内的所有这样的备选方案、修改和变体。

Claims (17)

1.一种设备，该设备包括至少一个处理器，该处理器被配置为：
使得与应用相关的图标在近程屏幕上显示；以及
响应于在所述图标处接收到接近但不接触所述近程屏幕的用户近程输入，使得用户能够确定所述应用的状态、功能或使用而无需开启所述应用。
2.根据权利要求1所述的设备，其中所述用户近程输入是用指示笔提供的。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中所述图标表示所述设备中出现或可用的应用。
4.根据权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中所述设备还包括照相机。
5.根据权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中所述设备能够在蓝牙链路、通用串行总线(USB)链路、和/或电气和电子工程师协会(IEEE)802.11链路上进行通信。
6.根据权利要求1或2所述的设备，该设备还包括所述近程屏幕。
7.一种方法，该方法包括：
使得与应用相关的图标在近程屏幕上显示；以及
响应于在所述图标处接收到接近但不接触所述近程屏幕的用户近程输入，使得用户能够确定所述应用的状态、功能或使用而无需开启所述应用。
8.根据权利要求7所述的方法，其中所述用户近程输入是用指示笔提供的。
9.根据权利要求7或8所述的方法，其中所述图标表示在包括所述近程屏幕的设备中出现或可用的应用。

11.根据权利要求7或8所述的方法，其中设备包括所述近程屏幕，并且所述设备能够在蓝牙链路、通用串行总线(USB)链路、和/或电气和电子工程师协会(IEEE)802.11链路上进行通信。
12.一种设备，该设备包括：
用于使得与应用相关的图标在近程屏幕上显示的装置；以及
用于响应于在所述图标处接收到接近但不接触所述近程屏幕的用户近程输入，使得用户能够确定所述应用的状态、功能或使用而无需开启所述应用的装置。
