Description
【技术领域】
本发明涉及一种具有模制于容器壁中的射频识别(Radio FrequencyIdentification,RFID)标签的模制塑料容器的制造,和/或涉及一种用于吹塑成塑料容器的在预制塑坯(Preform)壁上具有RFID标签的预制塑坯的制造,和/或涉及一种用于模制入容器壁中和/或布置于容器预制塑坯壁上的RFID嵌入物(Insert)。
【背景技术】
已经有人建议将RFID标签放置在容器壁上或容器壁中以确保包括该容器的包装的真实和/或提供有关该包装或者包装内产品的其他信息。可以将这样的RFID标签在容器被制造之后安装到该容器壁,在吹塑容器过程中嵌入该容器壁中,或者在吹塑预制塑坯之后通过将标签嵌入该容器壁中的方式组装到容器预制塑坯。
在2006年2月7日提交的美国申请第11/348,622号揭示了一种制造在容器壁内具有RFID标签的塑料容器的方法,该方法通过提供一种模具,该模具包括模芯和安装在该模芯上包括RFID标签的嵌入物。塑料预制塑坯在模具中围绕模芯和嵌入物形成,这样嵌入物被嵌入该预制塑坯壁中。预制塑坯能被吹塑成具有嵌入容器壁中嵌入物的塑料容器。
【发明内容】
本发明包括许多方面,这些方面能够彼此分开或者相互结合实现。
根据本发明的一个方面,一种塑料容器,其具有开口端和带有底座的无孔容器壁、在容器壁上向外开口的袋囊(Pocket)、以及布置于该袋囊中塑料外壳内的RFID标签。容纳RFID标签的外壳最好通过围绕该外壳吹塑容器壁而被接收(capture)于袋囊中。最好将袋囊和外壳布置于与容器开口端相对的容器底座中,最理想地是布置于底座的中心,并且通过朝着袋囊的外部开口在容器底座中最好可以看见该外壳。
根据本发明的另一个方面,一种制造塑料容器的方法,其包括提供塑料容器预制塑坯,将该容器预制塑坯放置于吹塑模内并且在吹塑模内吹制塑料预制塑坯以形成空心的塑料容器。将RFID标签放置于吹塑模外部的致动器上,并且在吹制预制塑坯之前,启动致动器并将该RFID标签放置于吹塑模内以使得该RFID标签在预制塑坯的吹塑过程中被模制进入容器的外表面。最好通过围绕RFID标签模制容器底座将该RFID标签模制入容器底座上的袋囊,这样通过朝向袋囊的开口可以看见该标签。最好将RFID标签布置于具有壁的塑料外壳中,并吹制容器,这样容器底座材料紧靠外壳壁以形成开口,通过该开口可看见RFID标签外壳。在本发明的各示例性实施方案中,通过在容器预制塑坯的外表面上安装标签将RFID标签放置于吹塑模内,最好是放置于容器预制塑坯的封闭端,通过将致动器延伸进入吹塑模,这样致动器的末端形成吹塑模的部分并将RFID标签设定在邻近吹塑模内表面的位置,或者通过将RFID标签安装于吹塑模的可移动段(segment)上并且随后移动该段以使该标签被设定于吹塑模内。

【具体实施方案】
图1和2示出本发明一个示例性实施方案的吹模制塑料容器20。容器20包括具有开口端24的容器本体22和含有容器底座26的无孔壁。可以将容器本体22和开口端24制成任何合适的几何形状,并且它们可以具有用于将封闭件固定于容器开口端的任何合适的结构。可以将容器底座26制成任何合适的几何形状。术语“容器底座”通常,尽管不是必要,是指与开口端24相对的容器的壁部分和/或该容器通常立于其上。
将RFID嵌入物28安装在(最好是嵌入)容器本体22的外表面上(最好是容器底座26)。RFID嵌入物28的实施例包括布置于塑料外壳内的RFID嵌体30。嵌体30包括连接于射频天线36并布置在基板38上的RFID微电路或者标签34(图3)。还可以预见,嵌体可仅由带有内置天线的电路或标签34构成且其没有基板。图2(和图4)所示的塑料外壳是具有带有外围壁42的底座40的多片外壳,并将盘44安装于外围壁42内以在盘44和底座40之间接收嵌体42。作为多片外壳的替换选择,该外壳可以是围绕标签34模制的单片整体塑料结构。外壳最好具有圆形外围的几何形状,并且顶部和底部表面可以基本是平的、凸的或者凹的。
容器本体22(最好是容器底座26)是围绕嵌入物28吹塑成型的,在该方式中吹塑之后将嵌入物28布置于袋囊46中。最好嵌入物28具有壁48,最理想地是环形壁,其紧靠吹塑模的反面并且有效地形成坝以阻止吹制操作过程中围绕嵌入物28的塑料材料流。如此,如图2所示,壁48有效地形成朝向袋囊46的开口,通过该开口能够从容器外部看见嵌入物28。嵌入物28的塑料外壳可以用任何合适的塑料材料制成,并且可被制成与容器本体22颜色不同的颜色,从而能够轻松地自动或者手工目测核实嵌入物在容器中的存在。
图4和5A-5E示出嵌入物28a和使用此嵌入物制造容器20的方法。嵌入物28a的塑料外壳,不论具有单片或者多片结构,其具有至少一个外部的指状物(finger)、尖头状物(prong)、耳状物(lug)或者自该外壳延伸的其他合适特征50。特征50可以被制成任何合适的几何形状以将嵌入物28a保持在塑料预制塑坯52(图5A-5D)的适宜位置上直到吹塑步骤(图5E),在此之后嵌入物28a将被接收在容器壁的袋囊46内。在图4的示例性实施方案中,楔形耳状物或者特征50被布置呈圆形排列。嵌入物28a被安装于致动器54的末端。致动器54被布置于吹塑模56的外部,该吹塑模56由模部分(moldsections)58、60形成。塑料容器预制塑坯52可以在模芯棒62上形成,例如通过围绕模芯棒62注塑成型或者压模成型。预制塑坯52可以被制成任何合适的几何形状,并且最好具有最终形成容器底座26(图1和2)的封闭端64。在本发明的一个示例性实现中,预制塑坯52在旋转的塔式注吹塑机的注入阶段形成于模芯棒62上并且随后并运送至图5A-5E所示的吹塑阶段。在模部分58、60围绕预制塑坯52被关闭之前,并且同时该预制塑坯还处于来自注入阶段的高温,RFID嵌入物28a通过致动器54被从外部安装到预制塑坯的封闭端64。随着RFID嵌入物28a安装于致动器54(图5A)上,致动器54在吹塑模部分58、60(图5B)之间延伸以将嵌入物28a的特征50(图4)嵌入预制塑坯52的封闭端64。特征50被嵌入预制塑坯的封闭端内,但最好不要延伸至模芯棒62或者延伸进入预制塑坯的内部。致动器54随后被撤走(图5C),模部分58、60被闭合(图5D),并且预制塑坯52被吹制形成容器20(图5E)。在吹塑成的容器内,RFID嵌入物28a被接收在如图1-2和5E所示容器底座26中的袋囊46内。吹塑模部分58、60随后被打开并将容器12运送至卸料台。
图6A-6D示本发明制造容器20(图1-2)的第二个示例性方法。随着模部分58、60被打开,致动器54被延伸(图6A到6B)以将嵌入物28a安置于吹塑模腔内,并且模段(mold segments)58、60随后围绕致动器54(图6C)被关闭。吹塑模部分58、60分别具有环抱致动器54的图案(cut-outs)70、72,从而将嵌入物28a布置于靠近吹塑模部分58、60的内表面并且致动器54的末端有效地形成吹塑模表面的部分。随着模部分58、60被关闭(图6C),预制塑坯52被吹塑至模部分(图6D)的边界以形成容器20,该容器20包括包围并接收嵌入物28a的袋囊46。吹塑模部分58、60随后被打开,致动器54被撤走并将容器20移向卸料台。
图7A-7G示出制造容器20(图1-2)的另一个示例性方法。吹塑模部分58、60的其中之一,在本例中是模部分58,它包括形成吹塑模腔底座的可旋转底座74。致动器54被延伸(图7A至图7B)以将嵌入物28a紧固于模底座74的外表面上。致动器54随后被撤走(图7C)并将模底座74移动,从而嵌入物28所依附的底座74的外表面成为内模面(图7E)。模部分58、60随后被关闭(图7F)以形成模腔,嵌入物28布置于该模腔内。预制塑坯52随后在模腔(图7G)内被吹制形成容器20,该容器20包括其内接收嵌入物28的袋囊46。模部分随后被打开并将容器移向卸料台。
图8A-8F示出制造容器20的再另一个示例性方法。在本实施方案中,模部分的其中之一,在本例中是模部分60,它包括可在图8A-8C所示打开位置和图8D-8F所示封闭位置之间滑行的滑座76。在图8A-8C所示的打开位置,嵌入物28由致动器54带至模底座76表面(图8B)上方的位置并且嵌入物28被安装到模底座76的表面上。随着致动器54被撤走(图8C),模底座76被移至封闭位置(图8D)并且模部分58也被移至封闭位置(图8E)以接收模底座76并形成吹塑模腔。预制塑坯52随后被吹制形成容器20,该容器20包括其内接收嵌入物28的袋囊46。模部分被打开并将容器移向卸料台。
尽管结合多台注吹塑过程的几个实施例已经将制造方法进行描述,本发明的原则绝不限于此过程的特定类型。例如,注吹塑过程可能包括附加台,如注射台和吹制台之间的,用于为预制塑坯增加层和/或在吹塑之前另外调节预制塑坯。当然,本发明的原则在其最广泛的方面内能够在其他类型的预制塑坯和/或容器制造过程易于被实现,例如再加热吹塑过程,在该再加热吹塑过程中容器预制塑坯被注塑成型或压模成型、保持并随后在加热或者在吹塑之前被另外调节。在这种类型的再加热吹塑(包括再加热延伸吹塑)过程中,在再加热或者预制塑坯的其他调节之后(同时该预制塑坯处于高温)、吹塑之前,可以将RFID嵌入物固定于容器预制塑坯(最好是预制塑坯的封闭端)。
预制塑坯52和吹塑成型的容器本体22被作为单层结构示于附图中。但是,可以将预制塑坯和容器制成多层结构。例如,可以通过按顺序或者同时注塑使预制塑坯形成多塑料层。预制塑坯初始可以被模制成单层结构,其带有在吹塑之前做的附加层。当然,因为最好将RFID标签和嵌入物依附于预制塑坯,最理想地是将其依附于预制塑坯的封闭端,或者将其放置于吹塑模腔的表面,在预制塑坯自身完全成型后,该RFID嵌入物在任何所期望的过程、几何形状或者构造中不对预制塑坯的制造出现任何阻碍。
使用任何合适的技术能将嵌入物28或者28a临时安装于致动器54和/或吹塑模段74、76上。例如,使用以上提及的美国申请11/348,622所公开的技术可以将嵌入物安装于致动器或者模段。作为替代选择,使用美国申请(代理人Docket 18848)所公开的扳机指型(snap finger of the type)可以将嵌入物安装于致动器54和/或模段74和/或模段76上。
如此已经公开了制造塑料容器的方法、制造塑料容器预制塑坯的方法、塑料容器、塑料容器预制塑坯和用于塑料容器或者预制塑坯的RFID嵌入物。结合示例性实施方案已对本发明进行了展示,并已讨论了附加的修改和变化。参考此前的描述,其他的修改和变化易于将其自身暗示给本领域的普通技术人员。例如,微标签(microtaggant)、化学指示剂、荧光剂和/或其他特征,公开的和/或隐蔽的,可以被包括在嵌入物外壳和/或提供附加安全层的容器中。嵌入物28可以包括RFID标签可移动/使失效的特征,例如在美国申请11/595,372中所公开的。本发明旨在包括所有这样的修改和变化,其落入附加权利要求的精神和广泛范围内。
Claims (43)
