Description

带EGR的排气增压发动机
技术领域
本发明涉及带EGR(废气再循环)的排气增压发动机。
背景技术
带EGR的排气增压发动机,已知的有图3所示的类型(例如专利文献1、专利文献2等)。
如图所示,柴油发动机a的排气通路b上配置涡轮c,在吸气通路d上配置由涡轮c驱动的压缩机e。在涡轮c的上游侧排气通路b与压缩机e的下游侧吸气通路d之间,连接有EGR通路f,用于将排气通路b内的废气的一部分回流到吸气通路d侧。
在EGR通路f上,设有调节通路面积的EGR阀g、对流过通路f内的废气(EGR气体)进行冷却的EGR冷却器h、只允许从排气通路b侧向吸气通路d侧的流动并防止其逆向流动的止回阀i。另外,在压缩机e的下游侧吸气通路d上,设有对吸气进行冷却的增压冷却器j。
根据这样的带EGR的排气增压发动机,通过打开EGR阀g,使排气通路b内废气的一部分通过EGR通路f流到吸气通路d中,实现EGR(废气再循环)。并且,由止回阀I防止EGR通路f中的逆流(从吸气通路d向排气通路b的吸气的流动)。

但是,在现有技术中,EGR通常仅在低负荷区进行,在高负荷区,EGR阀g被关闭,不进行废气再循环。
其理由是,在低负荷区,由于吸入到发动机a中的空气量相对于喷射燃料量足够存在,因此,即使吸入EGR气体也不会导致煤烟的恶化和油耗的恶化、以及功率的降低,能够得到作为现有EGR效果的减少NOx效果;而在其以上的负荷区,由于相对于燃料喷射量的吸入空气量的余量少,因此在吸入EGR气体时形成空气(氧气)相对不足,导致油耗恶化和功率降低,也易产生煤烟。
另一方面,根据近年来油耗和废气增加的要求,特别是在柴油发动机a中推行增压器k的高增压化。通过提高增压压力,增加每个气缸的吸入空气量来加大功率,并能够提高油耗(单位马力的油耗)。但是,过度地加大增压压力,从排气压力与吸气压力之间的关系看,使EGR的实施困难,或者,实施EGR意味着不向增压器k的涡轮c供给废气的能量,所以使增压器k和发动机a的匹配困难。
如上所述,进行高增压化的这些年,关于增压器k的设定和EGR控制的匹配,还没有得出最佳的答案。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种带EGR的排气增压发动机,对于高增压发动机,实现了增压器的设定和EGR控制的匹配的最佳化。
为达到上述目的,本发明的带EGR的排气增压发动机,在涡轮增压器的涡轮上游侧的排气通路和压缩机下游侧的吸气通路之间,连接用于将排气通路内的废气的一部分回流到吸气通路侧的EGR通路,在该EGR通路上插入设置使通路面积可变的EGR阀,而且,将上述涡轮的容量设定成:在关闭上述EGR阀向涡轮侧供给废气情况下,在发动机的高转速高负荷区,涡轮增压器超过临界转速处于超转速,通过打开EGR阀使废气的一部分回流到吸气侧,使涡轮增压器处于临界转速以下;并且设有控制部,在上述涡轮增压器超过临界转速的区域中,开放上述EGR阀。
此外,上述涡轮增压器最好包括:高级侧涡轮和低级侧涡轮,串联设置在发动机的排气通路上;以及高级侧压缩机和低级侧压缩机,串联设置在发动机的吸气通路上,通过上述高级侧涡轮分别被驱动上述高级侧压缩机,通过上述低级侧涡轮驱动上述低级侧压缩机;上述EGR通路被设置成连接高级侧涡轮上游侧的排气通路和高级侧压缩机下游侧的吸气通路;上述高级侧涡轮及低级侧涡轮的容量被设定成:在闭塞上述EGR通路向高级侧涡轮供给废气的情况下,在发动机的高转速高负荷区中,高级侧涡轮及低级侧涡轮的至少一方超过临界转速处于超转速,通过开放上述EGR通路将废气的一部分回流到吸气侧,使两个涡轮处于临界转速以下。
再者,在上述吸气通路上,最好在与上述EGR通路连接的连接部的下游侧位置,设置用于冷却吸气的增压冷却器。
另外,在上述EGR通路上最好设置用于冷却EGR气体的EGR冷却器。
而且,在上述EGR通路上最好设置止回阀,只允许从排气通路侧向吸气通路侧的废气的流动,并防止逆向的吸气流动。
另外,上述发动机最好是多缸发动机,排气集合管和吸气集合管的至少一方被分割成不少于2部分,从排气集合管到吸气集合管上连接EGR通路。

根据附图,说明本发明的一实施例。
如图1所示,本实施例涉及的带EGR的排气增压发动机1,使用直列6缸柴油发动机2,具有在其吸、排气通路3、4上串联配置的2个涡轮增压器5、6(以下称为增压器)。即,在直列6缸柴油发动机2的排气通路4上,在废气的流动方向上隔着间隔设置有高级侧涡轮HT和低级侧涡轮LT,在发动机2的吸气通路3上,在吸气的流动方向上隔着间隔串联设置高级侧压缩机HC和低级侧压缩机LC。
高级侧压缩机HC和高级侧涡轮HT由旋转轴连结,构成高级侧增压器5;低级侧压缩机LC和低级侧涡轮LT由旋转轴连结,构成低级侧增压器6。另外,在低级侧压缩机LC与高级侧压缩机HC之间的吸气通路3上,插入设置有低压段增压冷却器7;在高级侧压缩机HC与发动机2的吸气集合管8之间,插入设置有高压段增压冷却器9。
此外,发动机2的排气集合管10被分割成集合1号至3号气缸的第1排气集合管10a、和集合4号至6号气缸的第2排气集合管10b。直列6缸发动机2的各气缸的点火顺序,通常为1号、5号、3号、6号、2号、4号的顺序,第1排气集合管10a和第2排气集合管10b不会使邻接的气缸连续点火,而且,同组的气缸也不会连续点火。
第1排气集合管10a和位于高压段增压冷却器9与高级侧压缩机HC之间的吸气通路3,通过第1EGR通路11a连通。同样,第2排气集合管10b和位于高压段增压冷却器9与高级侧压缩机HC之间的吸气通路3,通过第2EGR通路11b连通。由此,可避免在第1EGR通路11a与第2EGR通路11b的集合部12中的排气干涉,设定为:当包含在连接起始端排气集合管10a、10b中的气缸处于排气行程时,包含在连接终点端吸气集合管8中的气缸处于吸气行程。
在第1及第2EGR通路11a、11b上,分别设置有止回阀13a、13b,用于只允许从排气集合管10a、10b侧向吸气通路3侧的流动,并防止其逆向流动。止回阀13a、13b使用簧片阀等。另外,在第1及第2EGR通路11a、11b上,分别设置有对流过通路内的EGR气体进行冷却的EGR气体冷却器14a、14b。此外,在第1及第2EGR通路11a、11b上,分别设置有EGR阀15a、15b,用于对流过通路内的EGR气体流量在0-100%范围内连续或阶段性地进行调整。
上述高级侧涡轮HT及低级侧涡轮LT的容量设定成:在发动机2的高转速负荷区中,当关闭上述EGR阀15a、15b将废气供给到高级侧涡轮HT时,高级侧涡轮HT和低级侧涡轮LT中的至少一方超过临界转速处于超转速,通过打开上述EGR阀15a、15b将废气的一部分回流到吸气侧,减少向高级侧涡轮HT的供给废气量,使两个涡轮HT、LT处于低于临界转速。
即,当处于打开上述EGR阀15a、15b的状态时,向高级侧涡轮HT的废气流量减少。因此,与该减少的废气流量对应,来设定高级侧涡轮HT和低级侧涡轮LT的容量,同与关闭EGR阀15a、15b的状态对应进行调整的场合相比较,该容量设定成较小。即,在本实施例中,与EGR阀15a、15b关闭的状态(供给的废气流量减少的状态)对应,将高级侧涡轮HT和低级侧涡轮LT的容量调整成较小。
通常,如果使涡轮HT、LT的容量变小,则增压器5、6易旋转。因此,设定成与容量变小前相同的废气流量的场合,如图2所示,当压力比沿发动机动作线Z随着流量增大而升高时,到达超过临界转速线16的X点,增压器5、6处于超转速,破损的可能性加大。因此,在本实施例中,将高级侧涡轮HT和低级侧涡轮LT的容量设定成较小,使得假设在发动机2的高转速高负荷区,关闭EGR阀15a、15b向高级侧涡轮HT供给废气时,高级侧涡轮HT及低级侧涡轮LT的至少一方超过临界转速线16而处于超转速(X点),打开EGR阀15a、15b使废气的一部分回流到吸气侧,使两个涡轮HT、LT处于临界转速线16的内侧(Y点)。
具体地说,在发动机2的高转速高负荷区中,配合关闭EGR阀15a、15b向高级侧涡轮HT供给废气的场合,调整涡轮HT、LT,当将该涡轮HT、LT的外径设为100%时,在本实施例中,将涡轮HT、LT的外径设为约84%,容量=流量=0.84×0.84≈70%,转速=1/0.84≈119%。另外,将压缩机HC、LC的外径设为约95%,容量=流量=0.95×0.95≈90%,转速=1/0.95≈105%。使压缩机HC、LC侧也变小的理由是:为了和由涡轮HT、LT侧得到的旋转力相匹配。即,在本实施例中,将增压器5、6的容量设定成较小。
而且,在图2中,17是压缩机的最高效率点,多重圆18是压缩机的等效率线,19是喘振(サ一ジ)临界线,16是最高转速临界线,Z是动作线。超过最高转速临界线16使涡轮运转时,导致涡轮破损的可能性很高。因此,需要控制流量,以使涡轮不超过最高转速临界线16,在本实施例中,通过进行EGR,将在不进行EGR的场合下超过临界线16的X点移动到临界线16内侧的Y点。
EGR阀15a、15b由未图示的控制部进行开闭(开放度)控制。根据事先通过实验和仿真等确定的图表或公式,在增压器5或6在图2中超过临界转速(临界线16)的区域(横穿的区域),控制部开放EGR阀15a、15b。由此,事先避免了增压器5或6处于临界线16外侧的超转速区(X点)的情况,使其始终在临界线16的内侧区域(Y点)旋转。

如图1所示,从发动机2排出的废气,其一部分气体从排气集合管10a、10b通过EGR通路11a、11b被导入到吸气通路3,由增压冷却器9冷却后供给发动机2,其余的气体被引导到高级侧涡轮HT,驱动高级侧增压器5,然后,被引导到低级侧涡轮LT,驱动低级侧增压器6。即,从发动机2排出的废气的一部分通过EGR通路11a、11b循环,剩余部分驱动2个增压器5、6。
在此,本实施例中,以发动机2在高转速高负荷时进行EGR使供给废气流量减少为前提,来设定高级侧涡轮HT及低级侧涡轮LT的容量(即设定成:假设在发动机2的高转速高负荷区关闭EGR阀15、15b,将全部废气供给高级侧HT,则高级侧涡轮HT和低级侧涡轮LT的至少一方超过临界转速线16而处于超转速,打开EGR阀15a、15b将废气的一部分回流到吸气通路3侧,从而减少向高级侧涡轮HT供给的废气流量,由此,使两个涡轮HT、LT处于低于临界转速线16),因此,即使在发动机2的高转速高负荷区进行EGR,各级增压器5、6在效率良好的区域进行旋转驱动,功率和油耗同时提高。
详细说明这一点,在过去,各级增压器5、6的涡轮HT、LT的容量,至少在高负荷区是以废气不进行EGR为前提设定的,因此,当废气的一部分被EGR到吸气通路3侧,使供给涡轮HT、LT的废气流量减少时,增压器5、6的容量(涡轮HT、LT的容量)不匹配(相对于被供给的废气流量,涡轮HT、LT的容量过大),导致增压器5、6的转速下降。因此,吸气压变成不足,功率下降。此外,成为在与涡轮HT、LT的容量不匹配的区域中的运转,因此,增压器效率差,油耗恶化。再者,通常在高负荷区域中,相对于喷射燃料量的空气量不足,且易于产生煤烟,因此,在需要发挥高功率的发动机2的高转速高负荷时,关闭EGR阀15a、15b禁止EGR。
对于此,根据本实施例,以发动机2在高转速高负荷时进行EGR使供给的废气流量减少为前提,设定高级侧涡轮HT及低级侧涡轮LT的容量,所以,在发动机2的高转速高负荷时进行EGR,使那时的废气流量和增压器5、6的容量(涡轮HT、LT的容量)相匹配。由此,各级的增压器5、6在效率好的区域被驱动旋转,可确保一定的转速及吸气压力,还可以提高功率和油耗。即,过去通常认为,如果进行EGR,则通过吸入空气量的减少或用于对其补偿的各种动作,油耗和功率同时下降,但是,根据本实施例,油耗和功率同时提高,而且,还可进行过去未进行的在发动机2的高转速高负荷区中的EGR。
此外,如图中例子所示,将增压器5、6串联的2级增压系统中,比图3的一级增压系统更能提高增压压力,所以不仅在低中负荷时,在高负荷中也能向发动机2供给对于喷射燃烧量充足的空气量。因此,即使在高负荷时进行EGR,使吸入空气量减少相当于EGR气体的流量,也不会发生空气量不足,不会显著地产生功率降低和产生煤烟、油耗恶化等问题。而且,EGR气体通过EGR冷却器14a、14b及增压冷却器9进行2级冷却,因此容积变小,这也可以避免EGR引起的吸入空气量不足。
再者,如图1所示,由于从高级侧涡轮HT的上游侧抽出废气,所以驱动涡轮HT、LT的废气能量相应减少,由于将抽出的废气送回到高级侧压缩机HC的下游侧进行EGR,所以,压缩机HC、LC必需加压的吸气量不增加。因此,从这种观点出发,各级增压器5、6的转速同不进行EGR的情况相比不会急剧下降。
此外,通过EGR通路11a、11b被引导到吸气通路3的EGR气体(废气),被引导到增压冷却器9的上游侧,所以,在EGR冷却器14a、14b冷却后,又在增压冷却器9中冷却后,供给发动机2。由此,可抑制EGR气体的热影响引起的吸气温度的上升,即发动机2的功率降低。而且,EGR气体被引导到高级侧压缩机HC的下游侧,不会对叶轮(铝制、树脂制等)产生热影响。
又,在EGR通路11a、11b上插入设置止回阀13a、13b,因此,能够可靠防止从吸气通路3侧向排气集合管10侧的吸气逆流。当在该止回阀13a、13b上使用簧片阀等的场合,可根据排气脉动及吸气脉动以极短的周期适当开闭,所以,即使平均排气压力和平均吸气压力接近,在吸排气脉动中瞬间排气压力大于瞬间吸气压力时,也能够瞬间打开并适当进行EGR。
此外,本实施例中,将直列6缸发动机2的排气集合管10分割成集中了1号-3号气缸的第1排气集合管10a和集中4号-6号气缸的第2排气集合管10b,在这些第1及第2排气集合管10a、10b上分别连接EGR通路11a、11b,在各EGR通路11a、11b上分别设置止回阀13a、13b,因此,吸气行程的压力可高于平均压力,排气行程的压力可低于平均压力。
即,在直列6缸发动机2的场合,1号气缸的吸气行程相当于3号气缸的排气行程。3号气缸开始排气时,排气压力瞬间变高,止回阀13a(簧片阀)打开,流过EGR气体。刚好此时,1号气缸处于吸气行程中,通过从3号气缸流入压力较高的EGR气体,吸气压力增加。另一方面,从3号气缸看的话,其排气被1号气缸积极吸入,所以,排气压力减小。同样的现象在所有的气缸中发生。因此,泵损失减小,泵效率提高,有利于油耗。
发明的效果
根据如上所述的本发明涉及的带EGR的排气增压发动机,能够发挥如下效果。
在发动机的高转速高负荷区中,可不降低功率且不恶化油耗地进行EGR。

Claims (6)

1.一种带EGR的排气增压发动机,在涡轮增压器的涡轮上游侧的排气通路和压缩机下游侧的吸气通路之间,连接用于将排气通路内的废气的一部分回流到吸气通路侧的EGR通路,在该EGR通路上插入设置使通路面积可变的EGR阀,其特征在于,
将上述涡轮的容量设定成:在关闭上述EGR阀向涡轮侧供给废气情况下,在发动机的高转速高负荷区,涡轮增压器超过临界转速处于超转速,通过打开上述EGR阀使废气的一部分回流到吸气侧,使涡轮增压器处于临界转速以下;
并且设有控制部,在上述涡轮增压器超过临界转速的区域中,开放上述EGR阀。
2.如权利要求1所述的带EGR的排气增压发动机,其特征在于,
上述涡轮增压器包括:高级侧涡轮和低级侧涡轮,串联设置在发动机的排气通路上;以及高级侧压缩机和低级侧压缩机,串联设置在发动机的吸气通路上,通过上述高级侧涡轮驱动上述高级侧压缩机,通过上述低级侧涡轮驱动上述低级侧压缩机;
上述EGR通路被设置成连接高级侧涡轮上游侧的排气通路和高级侧压缩机下游侧的吸气通路;
上述高级侧涡轮及低级侧涡轮的容量被设定成:在闭塞上述EGR通路向高级侧涡轮供给废气的情况下,在发动机的高转速高负荷区中,高级侧涡轮及低级侧涡轮的至少一方超过临界转速处于超转速,通过开放上述EGR通路将废气的一部分回流到吸气侧,使两个涡轮处于临界转速以下。
3.如权利要求1或2所述的带EGR的排气增压发动机,其特征在于,
在上述吸气通路上,在与上述EGR通路连接的连接部的下游侧位置,设置用于冷却吸气的增压冷却器。
4.如权利要求1或2所述的带EGR的排气增压发动机,其特征在于,在上述EGR通路上设置用于冷却EGR气体的EGR冷却器。
5.如权利要求1或2所述的带EGR的排气增压发动机,其特征在于,在上述EGR通路上设置止回阀,该止回阀只允许从排气通路侧向吸气通路侧的废气的流动,并防止逆向的吸气流动。
6.如权利要求1或2所述的带EGR的排气增压发动机,其特征在于,
上述发动机是多缸发动机,排气集合管和吸气集合管的至少一方被分割成不少于2部分,从排气集合管到吸气集合管上连接EGR通路。
