Description

Process for the preparation of a black azo dye. It has been found that a black dye is obtained if the diazo compound of the p-aminoazo body is obtained from diazotized aminolydroquinone dimethylitol-her + a-naplityl, # t-min with 2 -3-oxyiiaphthoic acid- Pn # i, plita.Iid combined.

When dried, the dye forms a black, shiny metal powder that is insoluble in water, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid with a blue color and precipitates from this solution in water in black flakes. It can, however, also be produced on the fiber and then provides even warm colorations with excellent properties of the elite. - Example:

30.7 parts of the p-Aiiiiiio, -tzo body from diazotized A.iniiiohydrocliinoiidimethylether 1- a-Nial) ethylamine are in 40 parts hydrochloric acid 20 'B6 and about 4500 parts of water, dissolved and diazotized with 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite in the usual way. Minor impurities are removed from the diazover! Inflation thus formed. 31,

3 parts of 2 -3-oxynaphthoic acid-ss-naplitalide are added to 20 parts of sodium hydroxide solution 36 ' B6 and 900 parts of water with the addition of an aqueous solution of < B> 13 parts sodium acetate and 2 parts turquoise elirotbl. dissolved in the heat, cooled with ice to about 10 ' and filtered. This solution is allowed to run into the diazole solution with stirring at 10 to 15 '.

After the coupling has ended, the resulting dye is filtered off. It forms a black powder with a metallic sheen, which dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a blue color, and which is precipitated in black flakes by water.
