Description
Process for the preparation of a black azo dye. It has been found that a black azo dye is obtained if the diazo compound of the p-aminoazo body of di-anotized o-anisidine + a-naphthylamine is mixed with 2. 3-oxynaphtoic acid-r /.- naplitalid combined.
When dried, the dye forms a black, shiny metal powder that is insoluble in water, in conc. Sulfuric acid with a greenish blue color is soluble and from this solution is precipitated by water in black flakes. However, it can also be produced on the fiber and then provides violet-black colorations with excellent authenticity properties.
Example: 27.7 parts of the p-aminoazo body from diazo-anisidine + a-naphthylamiii are dissolved in -10 parts of hydrochloric acid 20 Be and about 4500 parts of water and with 6.9 parts of sodium urite diano ted in the usual way.
The diazo compound thus formed is freed from small amounts of impurities by filtration. 31.3 parts 2. 3-Oxynaphthoic acid a-naphthalide are dissolved in 20 parts of sodium hydroxide 36 B6 and 200 parts of water with the addition of an aqueous solution of 13 parts of sodium acetate and 2 parts of Turkish red oil in the heat, cooled with ice to about 10 and filtered. This solution is allowed to run into the diazo solution with stirring at 10-15.
After the coupling has ended, the resulting dye is filtered off. It forms a metallic, shiny, black powder, which is concentrated in. Sulfuric acid with a greenish blue color dissolves and is precipitated in black flakes by water.
