Process for the preparation of a black azo-tar. It has been found that a black azo dye is obtained if the diazo compound of the p-aminoazo body t is obtained from diazotized p-anisidine -f- 1-amino-2-n.aplitolethyl ether with 2. 3-ozynaphthoic acid-f-na, phtalid combined.
When dried, the dye forms a black, shiny metal powder that is insoluble in water, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid with a deep purple color and is precipitated from this solution by water in black flakes. However, it can also be produced on the fiber and then provides a greenish-black coloration with excellent fastness properties.
Example: 32.1 parts of the p-aminoazo body from diazotized p-anisidine -f- 1-amino-2-naph- toläthyläther are dissolved in 40 parts of hydrochloric acid 20 B6 and about 4500 parts of water and 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite in the usual common way diazotized. The diazo compound formed in this way is freed from minor impurities by filtration.
31.3 parts of 2,3-oxynaphthoic acid-ss-naphthalide are dissolved in 20 parts of 36 Be sodium hydroxide solution and 900 parts of water with the addition of an aqueous solution of 13 parts of sodium acetate and 2 parts of Turkish red oil, cooled to about 10 with ice and filtered . This solution is allowed to run into the diazo solution at 10-15 with stirring.
After the coupling has ended, the resulting dye is filtered off. It forms a shiny, black powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a deep purple color and is precipitated into black flakes by water.
