Process for the preparation of a black azo dye. It has been found that a black azo dye is obtained if the diazo compound of the p-aminoazo body is made from di: azo-azo-phenetidine <B> + </B> a-naplitylamine with 2 <B>. </B> 3-OxynaphtoesäLire-p-Näphtalid combined.
When dried, the dye forms a violet-black, metallic powder that is insoluble in water, in conc. Sulfuric acid is soluble with a deep purple color and is precipitated from this solution by water in black flakes. However, it can also be produced on the fiber and then provides blue-black colorations with excellent fastness properties.
<I> Example: </I> <B> 29.1 </B> parts of the p-aminoazo body from diazoated o-phenetidine <B> + </B> a-naplitylamine are in 40 parts hydrochloric acid 20 <B > "</B> Bd and about 4500 parts of water dissolved and diazotized with <B> 6.9 </B> parts of sodium nitrite in the usual way. The diazo compound thus formed is freed from minor impurities by filtration. <B> 31 ,
3 </B> parts 2 <B>. </B> 3-Oxynaph- toesätire-p-naphthalide are in 20 parts sodium hydroxide solution <B> 36 0 </B> B6 and <B> 900 </B> parts Water with the addition of an aqueous solution of <B> 13 </B> parts of N-atritime acetate and 2 parts of Turkish red wine dissolved in the heat, cooled with ice to about <B> 10 0 </B> and filtered. This solution is allowed to run into the diazo solution under Rübreil at <B> 10-15 0 </B>.
After the coupling has ended, the resulting dye is filtered off. It forms a metallic, shiny, violet-black powder, which is concentrated in. Sulfuric acid dissolves with a deep purple color and precipitates in black flakes with water.
