Description
Process for the preparation of a black azo dye. It has been found that a black azo dye is obtained if the diazo compound of the p-aminoazo body is obtained from diazoated m-toluidine + a-naphthylamine with 2. 3-oxynaphthoate-p-anisidide combined.
When dried, the dye forms a black, shiny metal powder that is insoluble in water, in conc. Sulfuric acid is soluble in green color and is precipitated from this solution by water in black flakes. It can also be produced on the fiber and then provides blue-black colorations with excellent fastness properties.
<I> Example: </I> <B> 26.1 </B> parts of the p-aminoazo body made from dizotized in-toluidine <B> + </B> a-naphthylamine are used in 40 parts of hydrochloric acid 20 < B> 1 </B> B6 and about 4500 parts of water and diazotized with <B> 6.9 </B> parts of sodium nitrite in the usual way. The diazo compound thus formed is freed of minor impurities by filtration. <B> 29,
3 parts 2. 3-Oxynaphthoic acid-p-ariisidide are dissolved in 20 parts of sodium hydroxide solution <B> 36 0 </B> W and 200 parts of water with the addition of an aqueous solution of < B> 13 parts sodium acetate and 2 parts turkey red oil dissolved in the heat, cooled with ice to about <B> 10 </B> and filtered. This solution is allowed to run into the diazole solution at <B> 10-15 </B> 11 while stirring.
After the coupling has ended, the resulting dye is filtered off. It forms a shiny metallic, black powder, which is concentrated in. Sulfuric acid with a green color dissolves and is precipitated in black flakes by water.
