Description
Process for the preparation of a black azo dye. It has been found that a black azo dye is obtained if the diazo compound of the o-aminoazo body is obtained from diazotized p-cresidine + a-naplitylamine with 2-3-oxynaphthoic acid- a-.uaphtalid combined.
When dried, the dye forms a violet-black, metal-shimmering powder that is insoluble in water, soluble in concentrated seliweefic acid with a green-blue color and is precipitated from this solution in black flakes using water.
However, it can also be produced on the fiber and then provides violet-black colorations with excellent eclinity properties. Example: 30.5 parts of the p-Aminoazokbrj) er from diazotized in p-cresidin + a-Naplitylamine in 40 parts of hydrochloric acid 20 'B6 and about 4500 parts of water dissolved and 6,
9 parts of sodium nitrite diazotized in the usual way. The diazo compound formed in this way is freed from minor impurities by filtration. 31.1 Parts 2 - 3-oxyna.phtoic acid-a -naplitalide are dissolved in 20 parts of sodium hydroxide solution 36 ' B6 and 200 parts of water with the addition of an aqueous solution of 13 parts of sodium acetate and 2 parts of Turkish oil in the warmth ,
cooled with ice to about ICk 'and filtered. This solution is allowed to run into the diazo solution at 10 to 15 ' while stirring. After the coupling has ended, the resulting dye is filtered off. It forms a shiny, violet-black powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a green-blue color and is precipitated in black flakes by water.
