Process for the preparation of a black azo dye. It has been found that a black azo dye is obtained if the diazo compound of the p-Amiiioazokörpers from diazotized p-toluidine + 1-Amino-2- iiaplit-oläthylätlier with 2 -3-Oxyna-1) hioic acid p-ailisidide combined.
When dried, the dye forms a blue-black, metallic-shimmering powder that is insoluble in water, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid with a violet-red color and is precipitated from this solution by water in black flasks.
It can also be produced on the fiber and then provides black colorations with excellent real working properties. Example: 20.5 parts of the P-Amiiioazokzirpers from diazotized p-toluidine - # 1-Ai-niiio-2-iiiilill- iol, iitllylät, made in 40 parts Calcic acid 20 'B6 and about 4500 parts of water - and with 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite,
diazotized in the usual borrowed manner. The 'di ##. Izo compound formed in this way is freed from minor impurities by filtration- 29.3 parts of 2-3-Oxynel-it, oesäure-p-anisidid are in 20 parts of sodium hydroxide solution 36 ' B6 and 200 parts of water with the addition of an aqueous solution of 13 parts of sodium acetate and 2 parts of Turkish red oil dissolved in the heat, with ice to about 10' cooled and filtered.
This solution is allowed to run into the diazo solution at 10 to 15 ' while stirring. After the coupling has ended, the resulting dye is filtered off. It forms a shiny, pale black powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a violet color and is precipitated in black flakes by water.
