Dans cette machine l'organe rotatif avec les cylindres qu'il comporte, n'est supporté, par un palier, que d'un seul côté des cylin dres, et pour créer une opposition au moins partielle au moment auquel donne lieu, par suite de cette disposition en porte-à-faux, la pression régnant dans les cylindres, plus par ticulièrement pendant qu'ils sont en commu nication avec la conduite sous pression, mo ment qui tendrait à produire un mouvement de bascule de l'organe rotatif, l'aspiration et le refoulement respectivement l'admission et l'échappement ont lieu, pour chaque cylindre;
La fig. 1 est une coupe axiale longitudi nale et verticale d'une première forme d'exé cution; La fig. 2 en est une demi-vue en bout et une demi-coupe transversale; La fig.3 est une coupe longitudinale axiale et verticale d'une seconde forme d'exé cution La fig. 4 est une coupe horizontale d'une troisième forme d'exécution; Les fig. 5 et 6 sont des coupes axiales horizontale et verticale d'une dernière forme d'exécution représentée à échelle plus petite que les formes d'exécution précédentes;
Rotary machine that can be used as a pump or motor. The invention relates to a rotary machine, which can be used as a pump or motor, comprising a rotary member comprising cylinders arranged radially and which each contain a piston driven by a reciprocating movement, performing a double stroke by revolution of the rotating organ.
In this machine the rotary member with the cylinders it comprises, is supported, by a bearing, only on one side of the cylinders, and to create an at least partial opposition at the time to which gives rise, therefore of this cantilever arrangement, the pressure prevailing in the cylinders, more particularly while they are in communication with the pressure line, which would tend to produce a rocking movement of the rotary member, suction and discharge respectively admission and exhaust take place, for each cylinder;
by a slot which opens at the end of the cantilevered part of the rotary member, in an end face of the latter which turns against a non-rotating part at which terminates an inlet pipe and a fluid outlet pipe with which the lumen of each cylinder successively enters into communication, so that the pressure prevailing in the pressurized pipe and acting on the rotary member parallel to the axis thereof gives take place at a time of opposite direction to that mentioned above.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, several embodiments of the machine.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal and vertical axial section of a first embodiment; Fig. 2 is a half end view and a half cross section; FIG. 3 is an axial and vertical longitudinal section of a second embodiment. FIG. 4 is a horizontal section of a third embodiment; Figs. 5 and 6 are horizontal and vertical axial sections of a last embodiment shown on a smaller scale than the previous embodiments;
Fig. 7 is a view of the member for dispensing, which is applied in FIGS. 1, 3 and 4.
The first embodiment (fig. 1 and 2), which can serve as a pump or as a motor, comprises a casing 15 of circular cross section and having, on its right-hand circular face (fig. 1) a circular opening 15 '. closed by a cover 12, at its upper part a hollow cylindrical extension 152 closed by a cap 13.
Along the axis of the casing 15 is located a rotary member or rotor 5, set in motion when the machine operates as a pump, in a manner not shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, passing through the cover 12 in titi stuffing-box 14, stopping at a certain distance from the left face (fig. 1) of the casing 15 and presenting three cavities (cylindro-conical) equidistant 3 which play the role of cylinder dres and whose axes are radial with respect to the axis of the rotary member 5.
In each of the cylinders 3 can move radially a ball 4 playing the role of piston and being in contact with the internal cylindrical surface of a ring 16 'common to the three balls 4 and embedded in a ring 16 provided with' a threaded rod 16 =. On the latter can turn a nut 17, which cannot, on the other hand, not move axially in the cap 13. If the nut 17 is therefore rotated, the ring 16 is offset which forces the balls 4, during the rotation of the rotor 5, to move away from and approach the axis of this rotor 5 if they remain in contact with the ring 161, due to the cen trifuge force.
There is therefore alternately suction and discharge or admission and exhaust in each cylinder 3.
The rotor 5 is guided in its rotational movement by rollers 2 resting on an annular raceway 121 carried by the cover 12. Rushing to the axial thrust due to the pressure acting on the wheel 5 from left to right, it is supported by a series of rollers 1 arranged radially with respect to the axis of rotation of 5 and interposed between two annular raceways carried one 53, by 5, the other, 12, by the cover 12 .
Each of the cylinders 3 has a light 31 formed in the end of the rotor 5 and opening into the face 51 of the latter, which is perpendicular to its axis of rotation. Against this face rests titi organ 6 (Fig. 7) serving for distribution and which does not participate in the rotational movement of the rotor.
Fig. 7 shows the face of this member which is in contact with the rotor 5. This face has two openings 8 which are both connected to pipes coming from the outside, respectively one to a pipe used for suction or to the inlet of the fluid, the other to a pipe serving for the discharge or the exhaust thereof. During the rotation of the member 5, the slot 31 of each cylinder passes successively in front of each of the slots 8 of the member 6, thus placing each cylinder in succession in relation to each of the pipes connected to this member. This is crossed right through by a cylindrical opening 101 in the middle part of which a piston 10 is housed.
This opening is disposed transversely with respect to the symmetry plane passing between the slots 8, and the axis of this opening intersects the axis of the member 6 at right angles. The opening 101 is closed at both ends by plugs 10 =. The piston 10 is crossed right through by a rod 104; it is held in place on the middle part thereof by two washers 103 fixed on this rod which is tinée to limit in each direction the displacement of the piston 10 by abutting by one of its ends against the one of the plugs 102.
On the face of the member 6 which is in contact with the face 154 of the wall 153 are arranged two cylindrical cavities 7, the axes of which are in a plane parallel to the axis of the member 6, located at right angles. relative to the plane in which the axis of the opening 101 is located. In these cavities are located two pistons 18, which bear on the face 154 of the wall 153. The median part of the opening 101, in which is housed the piston 10, is connected to each of the two cavities 7 by a small channel 62, which is arranged so that, when the udder 10 is brought to one of its two extreme positions, it is that is to say when its rod 103 abuts against one of the two plugs 102, the two channels 62 are uncovered.
On the face of the member 6 opposite to that which has the openings 8 are two tubes 20, 21 sliding in sleeves 22, 23 which are carried by the casing 15 and which respectively connect the opening 101 to a tube d 'inlet and to an outlet pipe for the fluid. In this embodiment, the key cover 12 can be easily removed; this removal makes it possible to have access to the entire interior of the machine for examination or replacement, without having to dismantle pipe joints or to vary the position of this machine on its base plate.
In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 3 and which can also serve as a pump or a motor, the two separate thrust and support bearings for radial forces, of FIGS. 1 and 2, are replaced by a single ball bearing, the balls 11 of which move between two raceways carried, one, 56, by the rotor 5, the other, 12 ", by the cover 12. When from the disassembly of this cover any fall of the balls 1 is prevented by an annular guard plate 12 'secured to this cover.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the arrangement of all the members is the same as in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1; only in this form, a cover 9 having two or vertures 91 and 92, to which respectively lead an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe for the fluid, is applied to the end of the casing 15 against which the organ 6.
The operation of the member 6 is the same for these three embodiments. Assuming for example that the machine is used as a motor and that the pressurized fluid arrives at the opening 91 of the cover 9 (fig. 4); the pressure acts immediately on the piston 10 and brings it to its position shown in fig. 4, so as to discover the two small channels 62 (fig. 1 and 4). The pressurized fluid can therefore penetrate through these channels into the cavities 7 (FIG. 1).
Thanks to the pistons 18, the member 6 is then pushed strongly against the end of the rotor 5, so as to establish an intimate and sealed contact between these two parts. The pressurized fluid acts directly through the lumen 8 on the face of the rotor 5 and enters each cylinder of the rotor through the apertures 31, each time one of these passes in front of this lumen 8. This fluid escapes. then by the other light 8 which communicates with the outlet pipe 92.
Next, from the thrust exerted by the organ 6 on the rotor and the direct action of the pressure on the latter, this rotor is strongly applied against its thrust bearing.
If the machine is used as a pump, the piston 10 will be brought by the pressure of the pipe terminating at 92 at the machine to a position opposite to that shown in FIG. 4, so as to connect the cavities 7 to this pressure pipe.
According to fig. 5 and 6 of the pistons 41 moving in equidistant radial cylinders 3 of the rotor 5 consist of a cylindrical body 42 provided with a roller 43 rolling on a path which can be eccentric with respect to the axis of the rotor 5. That -Here is opposite, by its end face, one of the inner circular faces of the casing 11, in which the slots 8 are formed in the form of arcs of a circle serving for the admission or for the suction and exhaust or discharge. There is a small gap between these two faces, in which the pressure prevailing in these cylinders and acting to apply the rotor against the thrust bearing to oppose the balance of said rotor is made.
In these purely schematic figures the thrust bearing is not shown in a special way; it is in fig. 5 in front of the set of cylinders.
Fig. 5 makes it easy to see the forces acting on the rotor 5 in all embodiments. The force which tends to produce a rocking movement is due to the pressure p acting in the cylinder 3 at right angles to the axis of rotation c-d; it tends to tilt the rotor 5 around point a and has a lever arm x.
A pressure b acts parallel to the axis of rotation c d and with a lever arm y from point ra. The moment by resists the moment p) a% If we make by greater than 1) x, the rotating member is held against its support bearing and parallel to the normal axis of rotation of the machine.
The embodiments shown show free pistons. They could be replaced by pistons connected to rings controlling their strokes by rods or other means.
