EMI0001.0025
oder-
EMI0001.0026
Als Farbstoffe kommen beispielsweise solche der Nitroso-, Nitro-, Styryl-,. Stilben-,. Di- und-: Triaryl- methan-, Methin-, Polymethin-, Schwefel-, Anthra- chinon-, Chinonimin-, Azin-, Oxazin-, Thiazin-;
Per- inon-, Naphthochinon-, Indigo-, Chinophthalon-, Pyr- azolon-, Xanthon-, Acridin-, Chinolin-,.

Process for the preparation of dyes The invention relates to a process for the preparation of basic dyes or dye intermediates of the formula
EMI0001.0005
where A is the residue of a dye or dye intermediate which is free from carboxylic acid and sulfonic acid groups and each of the residues R1 is an optionally substituted hydrocarbon residue,
where two of the radicals R1 can form a heterocyclic ring system together with the adjacent N atom, m. the number 1, 2 or 3 ', n is the number 1 or 2 and' XG is an equivalent of an anion, characterized in that 1 mol of a compound of the formula A (H). (II) where the exchangeable hydrogen atom is bonded to a carbon atom, with n mol of a compound of the formula HO-H2C-NH-CO- (CHz)
m-K (III) where K is a group of the formula
EMI0001.0025
or-
EMI0001.0026
means, converts, and the reaction product quaternized, if K is a group of the formula (V).
As dyes, for example, those of the nitroso, nitro, styryl,. Stilbene ,. Di- and-: triaryl methane, methine, polymethine, sulfur, anthraquinone, quinonimine, azine, oxazine, thiazine;
Per- inon-, naphthoquinone, indigo, quinophthalone, pyrazolone, xanthone, acridine, quinoline ,. Cyanine, azo methine or reactive dye series and especially the series of mono-, dis- or polyazo dyes which can contain coordinated metal atoms.
The anions X can be organic or inorganic ions, e.g. Methyl sulphate, ethyl sulphate, sulphate, disulphate, perchlorate, chloride, bromide, iodide, phosphorus tungsten molybdate, benzenesulphonate or 4-chlorobenzenesulphonate ions.
Suitable quaternization products are. z. B. Esters of strong mineral acids and organic sulfonic acids, alkyl chlorides, alkyl bromides and alkyl iodides; Aralkayl halides, a-halogenated esters of low molecular weight alkanesulfonic acids, such as. B.
Methane, ethane or butanesulfonic acid and esters of benzenesulfonic acids, which can be further substituted, such as methyl, ethyl, propyl and n-butyl esters of benzenesulfonic acids, 2- or 4-methylbenzenesulfonic acid, 4-chlorobenzenesulfonic acid or 3- or4-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid;
Methyl chloride, methyl bromide, methyl iodide or dimethyl sulfate.
The radicals R1 can represent optionally substituted hydrocarbon radicals, such as. B. for optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or phenyl radicals; two of the radicals R1 can also, together with the neighboring nitrogen atom, form a heterocyclic ring system, that is. z.
B. a pyrrolidine, piperidine, morpholine, piperazine or an ethylene imine grouping.
The quaternization is preferably carried out in an inert solvent or, if appropriate, in aqueous suspension or without a solvent, in an excess of the alkylating agent and at an elevated temperature and, if appropriate, in a buffered medium.
The dyes formed are separated off from the reaction medium after one of the customary basic operations such as filtering, evaporation and filtration, precipitation in a suitable medium and filtration.
The new dyes are preferably used for dyeing, padding and printing moldings, in particular fibers, threads or textiles made therefrom made from polymers made from more than 800% acrylonitrile, for example polyacrylonitrile,
or copolymers of 80 to 95% acrylonitrile and 20 to 5% vinyl acetate, methyl acrylate or methyl methacrylate. ] Ulan receives strong tones, which have good light and wet fastness properties, especially good washing, perspiration, sublimation, pleating,
Have iron, water, sea water and bleach fastness.
It is advantageous to dye in an aqueous, neutral or acidic medium at boiling temperature or at temperatures above 100 ° C. under pressure. Very level colorations are obtained here even without the use of retarders.
Mixed fabrics which contain a proportion of polyacrylonitrile fibers can also be dyed very well. Those dyes that have good solubility in organic solvents are also suitable for coloring natural plastic compositions or dissolved or undissolved plastic, synthetic resin or natural compositions. Polyacrylonitrile can be colored in the mass in lightfast and washfast shades.
Some of the new dyes can be used, for example, to dye tannin cotton, wool, silk, regenerated cellulose, synthetic polyamide fibers and paper. It has been shown that mixtures of two or more of the new dyes can also advantageously be used.
In the following examples, the parts are parts by weight and the percentages are percentages by weight. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Example 1 First 12 parts of carbamylmethyltrimethylammonium chloride are dissolved in 125 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid at 0-5 ', 7.5 parts by volume of 37.2% formaldehyde solution are added dropwise to this solution and then added 15.4 parts of the monoazo dye,
made from diazotized p-phenetidine and p-cresol, a. After stirring for 10 hours at 10 ', the reaction mass is poured onto an ice-water mixture and the new dye is worked up in the usual way.
Example 2 In 200 parts by volume, 96% strength sulfuric acid cooled to 0 ', 32 parts of the 1-amino-2,4-diazotized by coupling,
6-trimethylbenzene with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone in a weakly alkaline medium preparable monoazo dye. 36 parts of an 80% strength aqueous solution of N-methylol-a- (N ', N'-dimethyl-N [2'-hydroxyethyl]) are added to this solution, likewise at 0'.
- ammonium chloride acetamide (produced by reacting N-methylol-a-chloroacetamide with N, N-dimethyl-N- (hydroxyethyl) amine, for example in a benzene medium) to drop uniformly in 20 minutes, stir 24 hours at 0 to 5 'and then another 24 hours at room temperature. The reaction solution is then poured into 1000 parts of an ice-water mixture and the yellow dye which has completely separated out is filtered off. The new dye, which z.
B. from ethyl alcohol, can be recrystallized, is excellent for dyeing polyacrylonitrile-containing fibers in yellow very real shades. Dyeing instruction A 20 parts of the dye obtained according to Example 1 are first intimately mixed with 80 parts of dextrin in a ball mill for 48 hours.
Then 1 part of the preparation obtained in this way is made into a paste with 1 part of acetic acid 40 0 / a, 400 parts of 60 'distilled water are poured over the pulp while constantly shaking and the whole is boiled. It is diluted again ver with 7600 parts of distilled water, 2 parts of glacial acetic acid are added and, at 60 ', 100 parts of polyacrylonitrile fibers are added to the dyebath. The material was pretreated for 10 to 15 minutes at 60 'in a bath of 8,000 parts of water and 2 parts of glacial acetic acid. It is now heated to 100 'within 30 minutes, boiled for 1 hour and rinsed. A level yellow dyeing of excellent light fastness and very good wet fastness properties is obtained.
