Watertight watch case Watertight watch cases are generally fitted with unbreakable glasses adjusted in a notch by an elastic pressure resulting from a prior deformation of this crystal, this pressure being able to be accentuated in certain cases by a metal ring with a high modulus of elasticity. The unbreakable glass must then withstand,
Ions of its implementation, large elastic deformations and materials suitable for such manipulations, known in particular under the name of Plexiglas (registered trademark), are relatively soft, scratch easily and lose their elastic properties over time. thus destroying the sealing of the box.
On the other hand, glasses made of mineral glass have already been fitted which do not have these drawbacks but require the interposition of a plastic material forming a seal and capable of absorbing the deformations of the box relative to the ice. However, these plastics are not very stable over time and do not make it possible to ensure a good seal.
This is the reason why we already had the idea of replacing them with malleable metal rings, but this solution was not entirely satisfactory either because of the thickness that had to be given to this ring and -of the unsightly appearance resulting from its interposition between the edge of the crystal and the edge of the bezel.
The present invention relates to a waterproof watch case comprising a plain transparent mineral crystal forcibly engaging in a corresponding housing of the case and having a malleable metal sealing ring,
chara1ctér @ Sée pair the fact that this ring is housed in a peripheral groove made in the edge of the crystal and the fact that this ring has a diameter very slightly greater than that of said crystal, the whole arranged so that, when the 'together is driven -in said housing, sealing is ensured by the metal contact between the ring. and the box and no day is visible between the edge of the ice and the box.
The drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the present invention.
Ice 1 is a disc of one. transparent mineral material such as glass or crystal.
A space is reserved, on the perimeter 2, for a 3 rd soft metal trim. This metal can be platinum, gold, silver, copper,
tin or an alloy resulting from the mixture of these bodies or any other malleable metal. This garnish is driven out onto the ice with which it is one. The diameter of this filling is very slightly greater than that of ice cream.
The metal support 4 of the crystal, (case, caseband or bezel) for example, has a cylindrical bore 5 whose diameter is very slightly smaller than that of the metal lining of the crystal.
The glass and its metal lining are then forced into the bore of the support. The malleability of the gasket metal ensures a perfect junction with the wall of the bore and the ring and crystal diameters are such that once this first deformed, the seal between the crystal and the case is ensured.
The ring can be in a metal different from that of the bezel and even be specially worked so as to cause decorative reflections in the crystal.
The ring could also be of the same material as the bezel to merge with it. Finally, these two metals could be chosen so as to avoid any electrochemical effect.

A mineral mirror has the advantage of being very hard, of retaining its new appearance for a long time and of being decorated by cutting and,
polishing for dressing jewelry watches. In addition, its mineral nature makes it insensitive to variations in temperature and humidity, thus ensuring perfect waterproofing conditions.
