Timepiece The present invention relates to a timepiece the bezel of which is notched on the case body.
It is known practice to snap a bezel onto a watch case body, with the interposition of a seal. In constructions of this kind, thanks to the taper of the notch, the radial force exerted by the bezel on the box body is transformed into an axial force tending to compress the seal. However, the height of the axial displacement of the bezel, in the direction of the box body, due to the transformation of the radial force into an axial component thanks to the taper of the notch, is extremely low. As a result, if the material of the seal loses its elasticity, or if successive dismantling and reassembly of the bezel are carried out, the seal runs the risk of being insufficiently compressed, in the axial direction, by the glasses.
The aim of the present invention is to remedy this drawback.
The timepiece according to the invention is characterized by the fact that an axially compressed sealing gasket is interposed between said bezel and the case body, this gasket being located, radially, inside the notch. assembly of the bezel, the latter having, located between this notch and the zone on which the sealing gasket rests, an elastically deformable intermediate part, the whole in such a way that, when the bezel is hooked to the box body, it undergoes a prestress which deforms it elastically, so that it supports axially, by its own elasticity,
on the sealing gasket which it applies against the gearbox body.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention. The figure is an axial section of part of a wristwatch.
The case of the watch shown comprises a caseback 1 on which is notched a glass bezel 2 into which is forced the crystal, designated by 3, provided with a tension ring 4.
The watch shown is also provided with a rotating bezel 5 rotatably mounted on the glass bezel 2 by means of a wavy wire spring 6.
A gasket 7, compressed axially, is interposed between the glass bezel 2 and the caseback 1. The notch of the bezel 2, designated by 8, by means of which the bezel is hooked to the caseback , is provided on a peripheral part 2a of the bezel separated from its main part 2 by a wing 2b, relatively thin, located in the plane of the watch, and which can be elastically deformed.
The dimension of the various components of the case is determined in such a way that, when the bezel 2 is mounted notch on the caseback 1, the inner face, designated by 9, of the main part 2 of the bezel rests on the seal 7 before the part 2a is fully engaged in the notch 8. It follows that, when this engagement takes place, the elastic part 2b of the bezel gives way, by elastic deformation, so that the bezel is preloaded , and exerts, by the elasticity of its part 2b, an axial force on the seal 7.
Thus, the seal remains regardless of the state of the material forming the gasket 7, which improves its safety and also allows successive disassembly and reassembly of the bezel without the seal being compromised.
