Abstract

A piece of flat glass (6) is fitted into the rim (2) of the upper part (1) of the watch case which has an axial shoulder (9) retaining the rotary portion (10). The latter has an internal sawtooth ratchet edge (12) co-operating with four pawl catches (13) which extend radially from a ring (14) fixed to a cylindrical shoulder (15) of the upper part (1) of the case. The movement (7) is held by an inner ring (8) within the lower part (3) of the case which is notched into the upper part (1) with a sealing gasket (5). ADVANTAGE - Axial clearance is reduced or eliminated so that teeth and catches are protected against dust and dirt. Rotary rim can be secured more easily, being inserted with catch ring from below into centre of case.
