Process for the production of a metal-containing azo carbate. It has been found that a nice, valuable metal-containing azo dye is obtained by referring to the monoazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0008
let koballab # -practice agents act in such a way <let a cobalt-containing azo dye arise,
which contains two ionoazo dye molecules bound to a cobalt atom in a complex.
The new dye forms. a waterless, dear powder, the wool from weakly alkaline, neutral to acetic acid bath in brown-yellow tones. colors.
The monoazo dye used as the starting material and corresponding to the above formula can be prepared by coupling the 1- (4'-chlorophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone using methods known per se, e.g. B. 2-Ainino-1-oxybenzene-4-sulfonic acid methylamide diazotized by means of hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite.
The 1- (4'-chlorophenyl) - 3-methyl-5-pyrazolone used here can be obtained by methods known to them, e.g. B. in <leni, dianotized 4-chloroaniline is reduced and the 4-chlorophenylhydrazine formed is condensed with acetoacetic acid amide or acetoacetic esters to give the desired pyrazolone.
The treatment with the cobalt-releasing agents takes place according to the present process in such a way that a cobalt-containing dye is produced which contains two dye molecules bound to one atom of cobalt in a complex. Accordingly, the metallization is carried out using cobalt-releasing agents and methods which, experience has shown, provide complex cobalt compounds of this composition.
It is generally advisable to use less than one atom of cobalt on a molecule of a dye and / or to carry out the metallization in a weakly acidic to alkaline medium. The cobalt-releasing agents used are complex cobalt compounds of aliphatic dicarboxylic acids or oxvarboxylic acids, e.g.
B. complex cobalt compounds of tartaric acid or, preferably, simple cobalt salts such as cobalt sulfate or cobalt acetate, optionally also freshly precipitated cobalt hydroxide.
Example: 20.2 parts of 2-amino-l.-oxybenzene-4-sulfonic acid methylide are dissolved in 50 parts of water and 14 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and at 0 to 5 with an aqueous solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite dianotized.
The diazo suspension, neutralized with sodium carbonate, is dissolved at 10 to 12 in a solution of 22 parts of 1- (4'-chlorophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazzo ion, 50 parts of water and 1-1.0 parts of 30% strength Poured sodium hydroxide solution. The coupling is very quick. The dye is deposited by adding sodium chloride.
The filtered dye paste is slurried in 600 parts of water and dissolved by adding 100 parts by volume of 2N sodium hydroxide solution and heating.
The approximately 80 warm dye solution is mixed with 300 parts of a 70 warm cobalt sulfate solution. a cobalt content of 1.3%. After a short time, the complex formation is over and the cobalt compound of the dye can be deposited by adding sodium chloride and dilute acetic acid.
