ATr, 1ID, <I>B"</I> BF, RMA.

(fig.
de sorte qu'il arrive par sa tête de forme convenable, comme représenté à la fig. 23, sous un goujon 158 solidaire d'un tampon imprimeur oscillant 159 du totalisateur 12 sans retour à zéro. Le levier 157, à chaque cycle opératoire de la machine, accomplit une oscillation qui lui est imprimée par un levier <B>160</B> (fi".<B>26).</B> qui la reçoit d'une came 161 solidaire de la. roue hélicoïdale 47 (fig. 26 et<B>6).</B> Tant que le levier<B>157</B> n'est pas amené de la manière susdite sous le goujon 158, son oscillation n'a aucun effet sur le tampon im primeur 159;
Machine for the certification of parts, in particular for the certification of tickets, invoices and other similar parts. The present invention relates to a machine for the certification of parts, in particular for the certification of railway tickets, invoices and similar parts, comprising means for carrying out the certification on a part, on a coupon. detachable from the part and on a control strip enclosed in the machine.
This certification can, for example, consist in printing on the part, on the coupon and on the control strip enclosed in the machine, the type, the class, the amount, the progressive number of certification, which must correspond to the number already printed on the part and on the control coupon, the date and number of the certification window.
According to the invention, the certification on the part, on the control coupon detachable from the part and on the control strip, is carried out by two successive printing operations carried out in the same operating cycle of the machine, which is predisposed to advance by manually operating movable pointing levers, on a dial bearing i indications relating to the type and quantity of the part to be certified. , The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the machine forming the subject of the invention, consisting of a machine for the certification of railway tickets.
The machine which will be described not only makes the work of the staff responsible for issuing special tickets simpler and faster, but also allows secure control of the ticket issuing office.

Fig. 26 shows details of the activation of the printing devices of the figures recorded by the general and partial totalizers.
The machine shown in drawing com takes an outer casing 1 which, on the control side, comprises a punch dial 2 with six columns concerning: the different types of tickets (indicated by <I> AD, </I> AT ', <I> MD, </I> B, <I> RF, </I> RJIA, r, rF, various); - the classes (III, II. I): - and the amounts (in four rows: hundreds, tens, units and fractions).
The signs: AD. ATr, 1ID, <I> B "</I> BF, RMA. REVIF, r, rF, miscellaneous, refer to the following tickets: differential aisle, vicinal aisle, half differential, outward and return, back and forth on holiday , outward and return events, outward and return journeys to markets, fairs, outward and return journeys for children., outward and return journeys for children.
On the side of each column there is a handle of a corresponding control lever 3 with the aid of which the pointing of the operation to be carried out for the issuance of each ticket is made. Fig. 17 shows in detail one of the levers 3; pointing amount. This lever is integral with a toothed sector 4 which meshes with a pinion 5.
The pinions 5, with the aid of tubular hubs 6 (fig. 11), transmit the movement to printing discs 7. 8 designates one of the toothed sectors actuated by the sectors 4, joined to the pointing levers 3, to which they are elastically connected and which are returned to their initial position during the operating cycle of the machine.
The sectors 8 ', at the end of the pointing and at the start of the operating cycle of the machine, mesh with a pin 9 which, by lowering itself from the position shown in, FIG. 17, comes into contact with these sectors and thus transmits the movement (while the sectors 8 return to their initial position) to printing discs 10.
The sectors 8 also mesh, at the start of the operating cycle of the machine, with a pinion 11 which transmits the movement to the printing discs 12. The amount recorded by the printing discs 10 can be brought back to zero, while the discs 12 cannot be reduced to. zero; consequently, for each operation a new figure is added to the previous amount on the -disks 12. The return to zero of the printing disks 10 is carried out using a key which is inserted into a lock 13 previously opened. by another key which is introduced at 14 (fig. 1).
The machine is operated by an electric motor 15 (fig. 6) which is started by a push button 16 (fig. 1). The machine has a crank 17 for possible manual control. The number which is formed on each punch can be read on the front of the machine through a window 18 and on the back of the machine through a window 19 (Figs. 1 and 2).
The part to be certified is introduced, in the particular case a ticket, as soon as the eorrespandant pointing has been carried out on a board 20 through a slot 21; by acting on the push-button 16, the ticket is certified. Fig. 3 shows the ticket which has been specifically designed for the machine and comprises two parts limited by a fold line a. The two parts of the ticket are indicated by B and B '.
Part B constitutes the ticket itself and bears a progressive number printed in advance which must correspond to a progressive number printed by the machine on the ticket, on the control coupon and on the control strip, and which represents the numbering of the certification operations performed by the machine. Part B 'constitutes the control coupon which remains at the ticket office and which, after certification, is detached from the ticket. The machine, in its operating cycle, prints on ticket B and on control slip B ', in two successive operations, the data which have been indicated above.
In the example shown in FIG. 3, these data are as follows: II (2nd class); 374.50 (ticket price), F <B> 7165 </B> (progressive number preceded by a letter which, in the counter mechanism operated by the machine, is substituted as if it were a number in the row decimal of the column where this letter is found and precisely, in the example, of the tens of thousands column); Jan. 12 (date of issue).
The machine comprises a printing device serving to print these data and which is more particularly shown in FIG. 11, in which 7 designates the printing discs of the class and of the amount respectively. The printing discs are intended to print the progressive number and the discs indicated by 23, 24 and 25 are the printing discs of the month and of the units and tens forming the day. These last three disks are operated by hand using a pusher 26; the discs 7 are actuated, as has been said, by the effect of the movement of the pointing levers.
The printing discs 22 are in-ace by one step. a pinion 27 which meshes with the first wheel of the counter at each normal operating cycle of the machine carrying out the certification of the ticket.
The machine has two flaps 28 and 29, respectively (fi.g. 23), the opening of which is produced by actuating the. lever 30 using a key 131 (fig. 18 and 19) when the. handle is brought by this key into particular positions, as will be described later. When we act on these shutters, we discover openings 31 and 322 (fig. 1 and 2), respectively, through which we introduce a card C (fig. 4) for recording the amounts added on the totalisers 10 and 12 respectively.
The advantage of this recording of the figures of the amounts recorded on the machine, with and without return to zero, is that it allows each recipient who takes the service of the. machine to immediately record the total figure collected by the machine with its entry and, then, at the end of its service, to record the figure of the other totalizer which, at the beginning, had been reduced to zero and, finally , again, the counter digit without returning to zero. This last digit must be the sum of the two preceding digits.
In practice, as can be seen from the drawing, three digits are thus recorded on paper C, in the service time of a receiver, and precisely: the first (127 669.20) of the totalizer 12, which indicates the general amount collected by the machine until the receiver enters service, then, at the end of his service, the number (42'37) marked by the totalizer 10 with return to zero and finally the number (1â1906,20 ) of the totalizer 12 recorded at. end of his service. This last digit is used as a control, since it must represent the sum of the other two.
The printing device of these uprights is only started when the net ma 30 (fig. 5) is brought, by means of the key 13.1 (fig. 18 and 19), from the working position to two other positions. indicated by "general totalizer" (C) and "partial totalizer" (D) in which the printing device of the totalizer disks 12 and 10 respectively is actuated. The machine further comprises means for recording and possibly printing, on a control tape, the number of tickets issued for each category.
The number of these categories provided in the example being ten, the machine has ten printing counters indicated by 100, which are grouped around an axis 33 (fig. 8, 9 and 13) -, their shafts 33 ' are at an equal distance from the axis in order to bring, by an angular displacement around this axis, the pinion 101 operating each of these counters, each time the category pointing lever is moved, under the pinion 10? advancement (fig. 9 and 14).
Of this. In this way, the grouping, in a small volume, of the counters and of the advancement device capable of acting on the particular counter relating to the category of the ticket which is presented for certification, is carried out by means sorted if mphs.
The printing discs of these counters do not print on receipts, which is not required, but it does. are arranged so as to be able to print on a control tape, if desired, by bringing the net ma 311 operated by the key 131 in a particular position indicated on the dial by "number recorded by the meter" (E).
We print on the. control strip the same data that is printed on the ticket and on the control coupon except for the counter indication. The control tape (fig. 13) is denoted by 34. This b <<nde unwinds from a roll 3.1 and winds onto a drum 36 (fig. 8 and <B> 13). </B> 37 designates the ink ribbon used to print the ticket and its control coupon as well as the control strip.
The printing discs 7, 22, 23> 24, 25 (fig. 11) carry two series of signs on their periphery; each series spans 180, so that the same signs can be printed simultaneously at two dia metrally opposite points, which is used to print on one side the ticket and the control coupon and on the other side the control strip.
The window which is driven on the plane 20 by advancing rollers 38 is printed in the manner shown in FIG. 3 'when, in the operating cycle of the machine, a pad 3.9 is lifted by devices described below (FIG. 13). A lever 40, which carries the buffer 39, com carries a second buffer 41 for printing the indication "window No. 9" which, in the example shown in fig.-3, indicates the ticket issuing window where the machine is installed. The matrix for printing this indication is fixed and is supported by a plate 42.
A pad 43 (fig. 13), mounted on an oscillating lever 44 (fig. 8), serves to simultaneously print on the control tape the same data from the other series of printing discs. The swing lever carries ,. at its other end, a buffer 45 serving to print the figure marked by the counters of the different categories of tickets. The movement of the oscillating lever to print the certification data on the tape or the number marked by the counters is actuated by the lever 30.
The motor 15 (FIG. 6) rotates, using a worm 46 meshing with a helical wheel 47, a toothed wheel 49 on an axle 48; the toothed wheel 49 is engaged with a pinion 50 wedged on a shaft 51, which carries a pinion 52 in mesh with a wheel 53, that is. the central wheel, of a group of three wheels, the two others of which are designated by 54 and 55 respectively and are mounted on the axle 48. The wheel 53 is idle. on this axle 48, the wheel 54 is wedged on this axis and the wheel 55 is idle on the hub of the wheel 53. 56 is a pinion mounted idle on a pivot (fig. 7 and 18) carried by a lever 57 oscillating around a pivot 58.
The width of the pinion 56 is such that it can simultaneously engage the toothed wheels 53 and 54. In this way, when the rocker lever 57 is brought into the. position of the <B><I>hg.</I> </B> 18 (in which the pinion 56 is engaged with the aforesaid wheels), the movement imparted to the wheel 53 is transmitted to the wheel 54 and from this to the axis 48, on which is wedged a group of two cams 59 and 60 and a group of two other cams 61 and 62. The cam 61 brings the printing discs of the totalizers into the printing position, and the cam 62 performs the switching on of the totp, - readers to record the totals.
The oscillating lever 57 carries at its end opposite to the pinion 56, another pinion 63f which, when the lever is oscillated, can be simultaneously brought into engagement with the toothed wheels 53 @ and 55. The wheel 55 has a cam 64 (fig. 6, 8 and 10).
On the. cam 64 slides an end roller of a lever 65 pivoted at 66, at the other end of which is pivoted a rod 67 provided with a slot 6 &, in which is engaged a pin 69 carried by an arm 44 'of the rocking lever 44, which carries the pads 43 and 45 respectively. By the action of the cam 64 produced by the engagement of the pinion 63 with the group of wheels 53 and 55, the lowering of the buffer 45 is produced and the indication marked by the type counter is thus printed. given of the ticket.
When the machine operates in the normal cycle, on the other hand, the pinion 56 is brought into engagement with the two wheels 53 and 54, thus causing the axle 48 to rotate, while the wheel 55 remains stationary. The axis 48 is connected at its end, by means of a suitable clutch, with a shaft 70 (fig. 10) which actuates the printing device in the normal operating cycle of the machine. At the shaft 70 is wedged a hub 71 on which are fixed cams 7 <B>% </B> 73, and 74 and a toothed wheel 75.
The cam 72 produces the printing of the ticket, the cam 73 the printing of the. control strip and the advancement of this strip and the ink ribbon, the cam 74 the return of the counter engagement lever (fig. 10, 13 @ and 15). The toothed wheel 75 is intended to produce the advance ment of the ticket and the control of the cams for the engagement of the pinion on the partial counter of the different categories of tickets.
A roller 76 (FIG. 13), carried by a lever 40 oscillating on a pivot 77 and carrying the pads 41 and 3.9 which print on the ticket, presses on. cam 72 provided with two bosses. The two bosses of the cam are used to perform, at each cycle, two lifting of the lever to print the ticket and the control coupon respectively. The cam 73 has only one boss, on which roll the end rollers of two levers 78 and 79. The lever 78 oscillates on the pivot 77 and is connected to a rod 78 'having a slot 80, .in which engages the pivot 69 of the lever 44 'integral with the oscillating lever 44, which carries the pads 43 and 45. The cam 73, acting on the lever 78, prints on the. control strip, by lowering the buffer 43.
The lever 79 is wedged on a pin 81 which, in turn, carries at its opposite end (fig. 10) a lever <B> 82, </B> which is articulated to a rod 83 connected to a lever 84 which , on one side, carries an advancement ratchet 85 acting on a ratchet wheel 86 which is secured to the regulating roller U of the control band (fig. 8), so that each normal operating cycle of the machine the tape is fed into the. correct position. The lever 84 comprises an arm which, by means of a rod 8-7, connects this lever to a lever 88, which carries an advancement ratchet 89 acting on a ratchet wheel 90 integral with the advancement drum of the ink ribbon 91 (.fi ,. 13 and 8).
The lever 82 comprises an arm (fig. 13) provided with a roller actuated by the cam 64 (fig. 8). In this way, the lever 82, under the action of the cam 64, produces the advancement of the control tape and of the ink ribbon at each printing cycle of the counters, independently of the operating cycle of the machine. that is to say that this lever allows these advancements even when only the printing devices of the partial counters are operated.
The toothed wheel 75 (fig. 14) wedged on the hub 71 (fig. 10) fixed on the shaft 70, in grene with a toothed wheel 92 fixed on a hub 93, which turns freely on a sleeve 94 fixed to a frame 9-5 from china. A wheel 96, provided with a single tooth 96 '(fig, 14), and a cam 97 (fig. 15) are integral with the toothed wheel 92.

<tb> The <SEP> wheel <SEP> 108 <SEP> meshes <SEP> with <SEP> a <SEP> pinion <SEP> 112,
<tb> which <SEP> activates <SEP> a <SEP> gear <SEP> toothed <SEP> 113 <SEP> (fig. <SEP> 11 <SEP> and 14). This wheel transmits the movement to a pinion 114 which is integral with the wheel 27 which, in turn, turns the general progressive counter, which imprints this number on the ticket, on the control coupon and on the tape.
The cam 97 actuates the plate 111 (fig. 15 and 12) as follows: On the cam 97 rests a roller 115 carried by a lever 116 oscillating on a fixed pivot 117, which carries at its other end a roller 118 (fig. .15). The axis of the roller 115 (fig. 12) passes through the frame 95, and engages in a corresponding opening of the plate 111. In this way, the movement of the oscillating lever, imparted by the cam 97 to the roller 115, is transmitted to plate 111.
The cam 97, at each complete operating cycle of the machine, completes one complete revolution and consequently produces the engagement of the pinion 102 with the pinion 101 and the wheel 108; the cam 74, acting on the roller 118, performs the disengagement for the return of the plate 111 to its initial position.
In order to ensure the correct engagement of the pinion 102 with the pinion 101 of the partial counter which is each time brought under the pin 102 by the ticket pointing lever and to prevent any displacement of the pinions of the partial counters when the machine is arrested, we have. provided for the following device:
The bush 109 described above, which is located in the center of the group of pinions 101 and whose diameter is such that the pinions are automatically locked by this bush, has, at its upper part, a notch which exactly follows the external curvature pinion 101, which is in the highest position (fig. 14 and 15), so that only pinion 101 which is in this position can rotate on its axis, while the others remain blocked as it was said above. In order to keep this pinion located higher in the locked position also until the moment when it must be actuated, a cam 119 is provided which follows the outer profile of the sleeve 109.
The cam 119 is mounted on a hub 120 idle on the axis 33 and integral with a pinion 121 (fig. 9. and 16).
In order to move the cam 119 from its locking position when the upper pinion 101 is about to be actuated, the plate 111 comprises a pin 122 - which, during the advancement of this plate, oscillates the sector. toothed 123! (fig. 16) pivoted at 124 and engaged with pinion 121. The oscillation of the sector produces angular displacement of cam 119 by the effect of rotation of pinion 121.
During the advancement of the pinion 102 to engage with the pinion 101 located above and actuating the corresponding partial counter of the group of counters described above, it is advantageous that the group of all these partial counters remains blocked, tan say that the advancement is effected by the pinion 102. To this end, the plate 111 (fig. 9, 16) comprises a grain 12'5 which, by its displacement towards the pinion 101, engages in a notch d a wheel with radial notches 12.6, this wheel being integral with a wheel 127 which is wedged on the hub 128 (FIG. 9) fixed on the axis 33,
on which is fixed the hub which carries the cage of the partial printing meters. The wheel 127 (fig. 11) meshes with a wheel 129 which is actuated by the ticket category pointing lever, thus realizing the pointing of the group of partial counters, that is to say the arrival of the ticket. desired counter under control gear 102.
The handle 30 is integral with a lock 130, into which the key 131 is introduced (Figs. 18 and 19). The lock 130 is integral with a toothed wheel 131 'which meshes with a toothed wheel 132 wedged on a shaft 133 which, using a bevel gear 134, actuates a shaft 135 on which a cam 136 is mounted.
This cam is disposed in a <B> U </B> shaped notch provided in the rocking lever 57 and, when the lever is in the "working" position (B), brings the pigeon 56 into engagement with it. the wheels 53, and 54; on the other hand, when it is in the two positions "general totalizer" (C) and "partial totalizer" (D), the oscillating lever is in the intermediate position, in which neither the pinion 56 nor the pinion 63 are engaged . When the lever 30 is a = driven to the "counters" position (E), the rocker lever is tilted so that the pinion 63 engages with the wheels 53 and 55.
When the oscillating lever 57 is in the position in which its two pinions are idle, it acts, at. with the aid of its end cam 137, on a lever 138 oscillating on the axle 51, so that a tooth 139 of the lever blocks the two wheels 54 and 55, keeping them in their correct position until when they mesh with one or the other of the pinions.
A wheel 140, engaged with a wheel 141 wedged on a shaft 142, is mounted on the pivot integral with the wheel 131 '(fig. 19, 23 and 24). The shaft 142, using a bevel gear 143, turns a shaft 144 (fig. 23-25) on which cams 145 and 1.16 are wedged. Cam 145, in the. position shown in fig. 23 and 25, has the office to keep the machine blocked and to this position of the cam corresponds, for the lever 30, the "blocking" position (A). To this end, the. cam 145 raises an oscillating lever 147. on a pivot 147 '; this lever, using a rod 148, acts on a lever 149 oscillating on a pivot.
149 'and provided with a tooth 150 (fia. 25), which is brought into: engagement with the teeth, a toothed wheel 151 wedged on the shaft of the crank 17; this wheel 151 meshes with a wheel 1_52 (fig. 6) which in turn meshes with a pin 153! wedged on the shaft 51. At the same time as the blocking of the wheel 151, the lever 149 produces the interruption of the electrical circuit (not shown) - of the supply of the motor 15 using the pusher 16.
The cam 145, when the handle 30 is moved to the "general totalizer" (C) position, produces the oscillation of a lever 15-1 which, by means of a rod 155 and an arm 29 ', opens the rear flap 29 (fig. 23 and 2) and, using a rod 156, moves a lever 157.
so that it arrives through its head of suitable shape, as shown in fig. 23, under a stud 158 integral with an oscillating printing pad 159 of the totalizer 12 without return to zero. The lever 157, at each operating cycle of the machine, performs an oscillation which is imparted to it by a lever <B> 160 </B> (fi ". <B> 26). </B> which receives it from a cam 161 integral with the helical wheel 47 (fig. 26 and <B> 6). </B> As long as the lever <B> 157 </B> is not brought in the aforementioned manner under the pin 158, its oscillation has no effect on the printing buffer 159;
this. effect will take place as soon as the lever 157 is brought by the cam 1.15 under the stud 158. When the lever 30 is brought into the. position "par tial totalizer" (D), that is to say with return to zero, the cam 146 a.zît on a roller 162 of a long lever 163 pivoted on a pivot 164 '(fia. 23). The lever 16: 3 produces, by its oscillation, the opening of the shutter 28 by acting on an arm 28 '.
At the same time, the lever 163, using a rod 164, oscillates a long lever <B> 165 </B> on a pivot 166 (fig. <B> 23 </B> and <B > 26) </B> and brings the notched end of this lever into engagement with a stud 167 of a lever 168 oscillating around 169 and carrying a printing pad 170 of the totalizer 10 with return to zero. The lever 165, in the same way as the lever 157, acquires, at each cycle of the machine, a constant movement caused by the cam 161; this movement is only transmitted to the buffer <B> 1 </B> 70 when, by bringing the. lever 30 in the position described above, lever 1.65 engages with crank lever 168.
To ensure the correct operation of the machine and to avoid false maneuvers, a device is provided which does not allow the machine to come into operation due when the net ma 3 () is in one of the predetermined positions and prevents the maneuver from turning. the joystick if the machine is not stopped, that is to say if it has not completed an operating cycle.
This device is established as follows: On axis 48 (fi- ,. 22)) is. wedged a cam 171, which actuates a lever <B> 172 </B> mounted so as to be able to oscillate on a pivot 172 'and carries a rod 173 (fig. 22 and 19), provided with a tooth 174 and d 'a guide fork. Under the action of the cam, the tooth 174 advances and enters a corresponding opening of a hub 175 kinematically connected in a rigid manner to the handle 30, so that, when this engagement has taken place, the handle cannot not be manipulated.
The cam <B> 171, </B> as shown in fig. 22, has a single position corresponding to its notch, in which it lifts the tooth 174 and this position of the cam is only reached when the. machine has finished its cycle and is stopped. In order to cause the machine to lock when the lever 30 is not in one of its correct predetermined positions, the hub 175 has five notches, that is to say a number equal to that of the positions of the joystick 30; in these notches engages a piston 176 (fig. 22 and 19).
When the lever 30 is not in one of the predetermined positions, the piston 176 is pushed out of the notches; then, acting against an adjustment screw 177, determines the displacement of a lever <B> 178, </B> on which the screw is located, around the pivot 178 'and, therefore, the 'oscillation on a pivot 179' of an angled lever 179, of which a boss 180 acts on the lever 149 on which the locking tooth I50 is located, making the engagement of the latter with the wheel 151 mounted on the axle crank 17 and which blocks the machine.
At the same time, as has been said, the motor supply circuit 15 is interrupted.
