Description

  

      Zusatzpatent    zum     Hauptpatent    Nr. 141535.    Verfahren zur Herstellung eines metallhaltigen     Farbstores.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man einen neuen  metallhaltigen Farbstoff erhält wenn man  den Farbstoff aus     diazotiertem        4-Chlor-2-          amino-l-phenol    und     Resorcin    in einem Me  dium, dessen     Pti    nicht grösser als 10 ist, mit  einem Salz des dreiwertigen Eisens behan  delt.  



  Der erhaltene Farbstoff stellt ein dunkel  braunes Pulver dar, das sich in Natronlauge  mit tiefbraunroter und in konzentrierter  Schwefelsäure mit braungelber Farbe löst.  Aus der braunen Lösung des Farbstoffes in       Zaponlack    erhält man auf Metallfolien  braune Überzüge von guter Lichtechtheit.    <I>Beispiel:</I>  2,63 Gewichtsteile des Farbstoffes aus       diazotiertem        4-Chlor-2-amino-l-phenol    und       Resorcin    werden in 200 Teilen Wasser ge  löst und mit 4 Teilen     Ferrioxalat    unter Zu  satz von     2/;s    der äquivalenten Menge Na  triumacetat einige Stunden zum Sieden er  hitzt.

   Die entstehende Eisenverbindung    scheidet sich zum grössten Teile aus und  wird nach dem Erkalten der Reaktions  lösung durch Zugabe von etwas Kochsalz  völlig abgeschieden.  



  Die Behandlung mit.     Ferrioxalat    führt  zum gleichen Resultat, wenn man dem Reak  tionsgemisch statt     Natriumacetat    andere Zu  sätze, wie zum Beispiel     Natriumformiat,     Kochsalz oder     Natriumsulfit,    beigibt.

It has been found that a new metal-containing dye is obtained if the dye of diazotized 4-chloro-2-amino-1-phenol and resorcinol in a medium whose Pti is not greater than 10 is treated with a salt of trivalent iron delt.



  The dye obtained is a dark brown powder which dissolves in sodium hydroxide solution with a deep brown-red color and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a brown-yellow color. Brown coatings of good lightfastness are obtained on metal foils from the brown solution of the dye in Zapon lacquer. <I> Example: </I> 2.63 parts by weight of the dye from diazotized 4-chloro-2-amino-1-phenol and resorcinol are dissolved in 200 parts of water and mixed with 4 parts of ferric oxalate with the addition of 2 / s The equivalent amount of sodium acetate is heated to the boil for a few hours.

   The resulting iron compound separates out for the most part and is completely separated out after the reaction solution has cooled down by adding a little sodium chloride.



  Treatment with. Ferrioxalate leads to the same result if other additives, such as sodium formate, common salt or sodium sulfite, are added to the reaction mixture instead of sodium acetate.

PATENT CLAIM: Process for the production of a metal-containing dye, characterized in that 'the dye is made from diazotized 4-chloro-2-amino-1-phenol and resorcinol in a medium whose Pii is not greater than 10, treated with a trivalent iron salt. The dye obtained is a dark brown powder which dissolves in sodium hydroxide solution with a deep brown-red color and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a brown-yellow color.

Obtained from the brown solution of the dye in Zaponlach. brown coatings of good lightfastness are used on metal foils. SUBSTANTIAL CLAIMS 1. Process according to claim, characterized in that the dye is treated with a salt of trivalent iron in the presence of organic additives. 2.
