Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines gerbend wirkenden Stoffes. Gegenstand des Patentes Nr. 203438 ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines gerbend wirkenden Stoffes, bei dem man ss-Naphtha- linsulfonsäure, Harnstoff, Formaldehyd und das durch Sulfonieren des technischen Ge misches von ortho-, meta- und para-gresol erhältliche Gemisch von Kresolmonosulfon- säuren miteinander umsetzt.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass man einen besonders wertvollen, gerbend wirkenden Stoff erhält, wenn man bei dem Verfahren des Hauptpatentes die Anlagerungsverbin- dung von Formaldehyd-Bisulfit an 4,4'-Di- oxydiphenylsulfon miteinkondensiert.
Im übrigen sind die Arbeitsbedingungen die gleichen wie bei dem Verfahren des Hauptpatentes.
Der neue gerbend wirkende Stoff kann unmittelbar oder nach dem Abstumpfen bis zu dem gewünschten Säuregrad zum Gerben dienen. Er zeichnet sich durch hohe Gerb- wirkung aus und liefert weisses Leder von guter Fülle und ausgezeichneter Lichtbestän digkeit.
Die in dem folgenden Beispiel angege benen Teile sind Gewichtsteile.
<I>Beispiel:</I> In einer Lösung von 30 Teilen roher ss-Naphthasinsulfonsäure (erhalten durch Sul- fonierung von Naphthalin mit der gleichen Menge 98%iger Schwefelsäure) in 30 Teilen Wasser werden 30 Teile der Anlagerungs- verbindung von Formaldehydbisulfit an 4,4'- DioxydiphenyIsulfon und 12 Teile Harnstoff heiss gelöst.
Dann gibt man bei<B>50'</B> C allmäh lich 24,5 Teile 30%igen Formaldehyd, 40 Teile des Gemisches von Kresolmonosulfon- säuren, das erhalten wurde durch Sulfonieren eines technischen Gemisches von o-, m- und p-Kresol und 50 Teile der Anlagerungsvem- bindung von Formaldehydbisulfit an 4,4'-Di- oxydiphenyJsulfon zu. Das Gemisch wird auf <B>80-90'</B> erwärmt.
Nach dem Abkühlen auf etwa 25 C gibt man 13,7 Teile 30 % igen Formaldehyd zu und erwärmt ?/.1 Stunde lang auf 60-70 C. Durch Zufügen von 12,5 Tei len Soda erhält man einen Gerbstoff, der sehr lichtbeständiges Leder von guter Fülle liefert.

It has now been found that a particularly valuable, tanning substance is obtained if, in the process of the main patent, the addition compound of formaldehyde bisulfite to 4,4'-dioxydiphenylsulfone is also condensed.
Otherwise, the working conditions are the same as in the process of the main patent.
The new tanning substance can be used for tanning immediately or after dulling to the desired degree of acidity. It is characterized by a high tanning effect and provides white leather with good body and excellent lightfastness.
The parts given in the following example are parts by weight.
<I> Example: </I> In a solution of 30 parts of crude ß-naphthasine sulfonic acid (obtained by sulfonating naphthalene with the same amount of 98% sulfuric acid) in 30 parts of water, 30 parts of the addition compound of formaldehyde bisulfite are formed 4,4'-DioxydiphenyIsulfon and 12 parts of urea dissolved hot.
Then at <B> 50 '</B> C, 24.5 parts of 30% formaldehyde, 40 parts of the mixture of cresol monosulfonic acids, which was obtained by sulfonating a technical mixture of o-, m- and p, are gradually added -Kresol and 50 parts of the addition compound of formaldehyde bisulfite to 4,4'-dioxydiphenyJsulfon. After cooling to about 25 ° C., 13.7 parts of 30% formaldehyde are added and the mixture is heated to 60-70 ° C. for 1 hour. By adding 12.5 parts of soda, a tanning agent is obtained, which is very lightfast leather supplies of good abundance.
