  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines     substantiven    kupferhaltigen     Azofarbstoffes.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man     substantive     kupferhaltige     Azofarbstoffe    erhält, wenn man       Trisazofarbstoffe    der allgemeinen Formel

    worin     Ri    beliebig substituiert sein kann und       R2    den Rest einer Komponente der     Benzol-          oder        Naphthalinreihe,    welche mindestens eine       Sulfonsäuregruppe    enthält, bedeutet, unter  solchen Bedingungen mit kupferabgebenden  Mitteln behandelt,

   dass die in     Ri    in     o-Stellung     zur     Azobrücke    befindliche     Methoxylgruppe     gespalten wird.  



  Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist  ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines kupfer  haltigen     Trisazofarbstoffes.    Es besteht darin,  dass man den     Azofarbstoff    der Formel

    mit einem kupferabgebenden Mittel unter  solchen Bedingungen behandelt, dass die       Methoxygruppen    aufgespalten werden.  



       Beispiel,   <I>;</I>  100 Gewichtsteile des Farbstoffes der  Formel

      werden in 2500 Gewichtsteilen Wasser gelöst  und auf<B>850</B> erwärmt. Dann versetzt man  unter Rühren mit einer Lösung von 33 Ge  wichtsteilen kristallisiertem Kupfersulfat und       100        Gewichtsteilen        25        %igem        Ammoniak        in          250    Gewichtsteilen Wasser. Die     Mischung     wird dann noch 12 Stunden bei 80-90 0  gerührt. Man erhält einen Farbstoff, der  Baumwolle in blauen Tönen anfärbt.

  The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of a copper-containing trisazo dye. It consists in getting the azo dye of the formula

    treated with a copper donor under such conditions that the methoxy groups are split.



       Example, <I>; </I> 100 parts by weight of the dye of the formula

      are dissolved in 2500 parts by weight of water and heated to <B> 850 </B>. Then, while stirring, a solution of 33 parts by weight of crystallized copper sulfate and 100 parts by weight of 25% ammonia in 250 parts by weight of water is added. The mixture is then stirred at 80-90 ° for a further 12 hours. A dye is obtained which dyes cotton in blue tones.

Claims

PATENT CLAIM: Process for the production of a copper-containing trisazo dye, characterized in that the azo dye of the formula EMI0002.0012 treated with a copper donor under such conditions that the methoxy groups are broken down. The new dye obtained stains cotton in blue tones.
