Description

Mechanism for showing alternately in apertures of a dial, one and the other of the two series of hour figures. There are already mechanisms for showing alternately, in the counters of a cadrai, one and the other of the two series of hourly digits, that is to say between midnight and noon the digits 1 to 12 and between noon and midnight the numbers 13 to 24.

To achieve this result; the object of the present invention has two wheels rotating in the opposite direction, which, by means of a cam and a rocker, instantly jump forward resp. behind a disc coaxial with the dial and carrying the figures, the position of the latter being ensured by a jumper acting alternately on two notches provided on the circumference of the disc.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.

Figs. 1 and 2 show the mechanism in two different positions and fig. 3 shows part of the dial of said embodiment.

The mechanism shown comprises the two wheels a and a 'each making one revolution in 24 hours in the opposite direction, the wheel a meshing with the timer pinion and the wheel a' meshing with the hour wheel.

Each of these wheels carries a cam L resp. b ', freely adjusted on its axis and the play of which is ensured by a pin c fixed in the wheel.

The cams have a pin and an in dex d resp. d '.

On a bridge e, covering the hour wheel, is freely adjusted the disc l which is coaxial with the dial and which bears the numbers. This disc is placed immediately below the dial.

Each of the positions of the disc l is secured by one of the two checkmarks f and g provided for the circumference of the disc. Z and in which penetrates, alternately, the tooth of a jumper h., Fixed to the case of the mechanism.

Disk 1 has two undercuts, each with a check mark i and i 'located opposite the cams.

Each of the two wheels a and a ', by turning, drives the cam which it carries and the latter causes a rocker j resp. j ', commanded by titi spring Ii.

When the tip of the cam b, turning to the right, comes opposite the tip of the rocker j, the latter releases and pushes the cam forward.

The cam pin then enters the checkmark i of the disc l and drives it far enough for the jumper tooth to enter it into the notch g.

The number-bearing disc is then in the desired position so that, 12 hours later, the index d 'can enter the coolie i' and drive the disc l backwards, when the rocker j 'triggers.

At 1 o'clock and at 1 o'clock, disc 1 therefore makes a titi instant jump.

Fig. 1 shows the mechanism with the number-holder disc in place and at the moment when the rocker j will trigger. The organs hidden by the disc are drawn in dotted lines.

Fig. 2 represents the position of the inecanism when the lever j has fallen, the number-holder disc and its clearances being drawn in dotted lines.

Fig. 3 shows part of the dial with the apertures in which appear, alternately, the hours from 1 to 12 and those from 13 to 24.

Depending on the kind of movements to which they are adapted (simple or complicated), the organs of this mechanism can change place and shape while maintaining the same relationships between them.

However, one of the two wheels a and a ', turning in the opposite direction, could be moved by the other.

Said mechanism makes it possible to activate the time setting forward and backward without inconvenience.
