Abstract

MéTODO DE REFORMA DE METANO A VAPOR. é descrito um método de reformar metano a vapor no qual uma corrente de alimentação (10) é tratada em um reator (30; 30") contendo um catalisador que é capaz de promover reações tanto de hidrogenação como de oxidação parcial. A corrente de alimentação (10) pode ser um gás de exaustão de processo de refinaria. O reator (30; 30') é operado tanto em um modo de hidrogenação catalítica para converter olefinas em hidrocarbonetos saturados e/ou para reduzir quimicamente espécies de enxofre a sulfeto de hidrogênio como em um modo oxidativo catalítico que utiliza oxigênio e vapor para pré-reformar a alimentação e assim aumentar o teor de hidrogênio de um gás de síntese produzido por um reformador de metano a vapor (52). O reator (30; 32) pode ser operado em modos alternados para proporcionar maior produção de hidrogênio durante o modo de operação oxidativo catalítico ou exclusivamente em um modo de operação simples que envolve tanto um modo de hidrogenação catalítica como um modo oxidativo catalítico.
