Abstract
<B>MéTODO E APARELHO PARA OPERAR EMBREAGEM EM TRANSMISSãO MECâNICA AUTOMáTICA<D> Um aparelho e método para controlar a taxa de engrenamento de uma embreagem em uma transmissão mecânica parcial ou totalmente automática são responsivos a certos cálculos derivados das velocidades rotacionais do elemento de entrada e do elemento de saída de embreagem. O aparelho inclui um controlador eletrónico que estabelece inicialmente uma velocidade desejada para o motor do veículo durante o processo de mudança, determina uma taxa de movimento de engrenamento de um mancal de liberação da embreagem e aciona válvulas apropriadas para iniciar o engrenamento gradual de embreagem. O controlador eletrónico compara a velocidade real do motor com um primeiro valor. Se a velocidade real do motor for maior do que ou igual ao primeiro valor, o controlador eletrónico então compara as velocidades rotacionais dos eixos de entrada e de saída da embreagem a fim de determinar se a diferença entre os mesmos é menor do que um segundo valor. Em uma primeira modalidade da invenção, a grandeza do segundo valor é um valor constante. Em uma segunda modalidade da invenção, a grandeza do segundo valor é variada pelo controlador eletrónico em resposta a uma condição de operação captada do veículo, tal como a carga do motor. Se a diferença entre as velocidades rotacionais dos eixos de entrada e de saída for menor do que o segundo valor, pode-se inferir que a embreagem está suficientemente próxima do engrenamento total de modo a garantir a interrupção do processo de engrenamento gradual e imediatamente mover o mancal de liberação de sua posição atual para a posição totalmente engrenada. Desse modo, o mancal de liberação pode ser imediatamente movido de sua posição atual para a posição totalmente engrenada.
