Abstract

trata-se de um aparelho para fundição contínua de tira de metal que reduz ovos de cobra que compreende um par de rolos de função contra-giratórios, em que cada rolo tem menos que 800 milímetros de diâmetro e é posicionado para formar um estreitamento entre os mesmos, através do qual a tira fina pode ser fundida; um sistema de entrega de metal disposto acima do estreitamento e com capacidade para descarregar metal derretido para formar uma poça de fundição suportada nos rolos; um par de retentores de represa laterais e um par de represas laterais montados adjacentes a cada porção de extremidade dos rolos, em que cada retentor de represa lateral é afilado ao longo de porções de borda para ensamblar com uma represa lateral adjacente, e em que cada represa lateral é adaptada para confinar a poça de fundição de metal derretido suportado em superfícies de fundição dos rolos; um mecanismo de oscilação adaptado para causar oscilação lateral de cada represa lateral e retentor de represa lateral em uma frequência de 2 a 50 hertz e com uma amplitude de 100 a 2.000 µm durante a campanha de fundição.
