a presente invenção se refere ao uso de produtos químicos para interferir na capacidade de certos artrópodes em se protegerem de seu ambiente externo. a invenção ensina a aplicar produtos químicos em porções específicas do corpo do artrópode que mantêm um envelope gasoso que reveste, protege e se estende a partir da pele do artrópode e, se presente, do orifício de respiração. esta aplicação de produtos químicos promove uma falha desta cobertura protetora, tornando o artrópode vulnerável ao seu ambiente externo, bem como a pesticidas e também pode proporcionar problemas em sua capacidade respiratória.
