Abstract

um método para determinar os teores de opala-c e cristobalita de um produto que compreende diatomito é divulgado. o método pode compreender a realização de processamento térmico para determinar uma perda em ignição para uma primeira porção representativa de uma amostra do produto; identificar e quantificar picos primários e secundários presentes em um primeiro padrão de difração que resulta da difração de raios x do pó compactado em uma segunda porção representativa da amostra; e utilização de uma amostra padrão conhecida de cristobalita para determinar se os picos primário e secundário presentes no primeiro padrão de difração indicam a presença de opala-c ou cristobalita no produto.
