Abstract
um método e um aparelho são descritos para revestir regiões selecionadas de uma superfície de um substrato com uma película. o método compreende as etapas de: a) proporcionar um membro de transferência continuamente móvel tendo uma superfície de imagem, b) revestir a superfície de imagem do membro de transferência com partículas individuais formadas de, ou revestidas com, um polímero termoplástico, c) remover substancialmente todas as partículas que não estão em contato direto com a superfície de imagem para deixar um revestimento de partículas de monocamada uniforme sobre a superfície de imagem, d) expor regiões selecionadas da superfície de imagem revestida a uma radiação de potência suficiente para tornar as partículas pegajosas dentro das regiões selecionadas, e) pressionar a superfície de imagem revestida e a superfície do substrato uma contra a outra, durante ou após a irradiação, para causar a transferência para a superfície do substrato de apenas as regiões do revestimento de partículas que foram tornadas pegajosas, as regiões pegajosas formando uma película, e f) repetir as etapas b) e c) aplicar um revestimento de monocamada de partículas novo para as regiões selecionadas, das quais o revestimento de monocamada previamente aplicado foi transferido para a superfície do substrato na etapa e), para deixar a superfície de imagem de novo uniformemente revestida com uma monocamada de partículas.
