Abstract
a presente invenção diz respeito a um processo para a redução do carbono orgânico total (cot) em uma mistura aquosa m1 obtida como águas residuais provenientes de um processo para a preparação de um óxido de olefina, o processo para a redução do cot compreendendo: (a) fazer contatar a mistura m1 a qual contém pelo menos um oxigenato tendo a partir de 1 a 16 átomos de carbono com um agente de adsorção e adsorvendo pelo menos uma porção de um oxigenato no agente de adsorção; (b) separar uma mistura aquosa m2 do agente de adsorção, a mistura m2 sendo esgotada do oxigenato adsorvido em (a); e (c) separar um oxigenato da mistura m2 obtida em (b) ao submeter a mistura m2 a osmose inversa em pelo menos uma unidade de osmose reversa contendo uma membrana de osmose reversa obtendo uma mistura aquosa m3 sendo esgotada deste oxigenato.
