uso de uma composição que compreende um peptídeo antimicrobiano como um alimento conservante. a presente invenção refere-se ao uso de uma composição que compreende um polipeptídeo antimicrobiano que compreende blad ou uma variante ativa do mesmo com a finalidade de impedir ou de inibir a deterioração de um produto alimentar por meio de um micro-organismo. também é fornecido um método para previnir ou inibir a deterioração de um produto alimentar por meio de um micro-organismo, que compreende a administração a um gênero alimentício em necessidade do mesmo de uma quantidade eficaz de uma composição que compreende um polipeptídeo antimicrobiano que compreende blad ou uma variante ativa do mesmo.
