Abstract

"PIGMENTO DE CAULIM , COMPOSIçõES DE TINTA E DE REVESTIMENTO DE PAPEL, PAPEL REVESTIDO OU PREENCHIDO, MéTODOS PARA FABRICAçãO DE UM PIGMENTO DE CAULIM E PARA REVESTIMENTO DE PAPEL, E, PROCESSO DE IMPRESSãO POR ROTOGRAVURA". A presente invenção proporciona pigmentos de argila de caulim que têm pelo menos as seguintes características: Luminosidade (GE): no mínimo cerca de 89,0; Fator de Forma: no mínimo cerca de 30; viscosidade de Brookfield, medida em 20 rpm e em menos de ou igual a cerca de 65% de sólidos: cerca de 100 a cerca de 700 centipoise; e viscosidade de Hercules, medida em 18 dinas e em menos de ou igual a cerca de 65% de sólidos: cerca de 200 rpm a cerca de 1000 rpm. As fontes de caulim preferidas incluem caulins brasileiros, especialmente caulins de Rio Capim. Os pigmentos de caulim da presente invenção possuem uma combinação de propriedades óticas e físicas, tais como luminosidade, capacidade de impressão, e eficiência de transferência, não vista anteriormente nos produtos comerciais existentes. Eles são úteis, por exemplo, em composições de enchimento e revestimento de papel, composições de tinta, e aplicações de impressão, especialmente impressão por rotogravura.
