Abstract
"ARTIGOS DE AçO REVESTIDOS DE CARBONETO E MéTODO DE FABRICAçãO". Partes de corrente e outros artigos de aço são providos com revestimento de carboneto duro resistente ao desgaste por meio de tamboreamento em uma retorta aquecida com uma mistura de particulado que inclui uma fonte de vanádio e/ou nióbio. O substrato de aço compreende um aço tendo pelo menos 0,3% de carbono, preferivelmente 0,7-1,2%. Onde o conteúdo de cromo no aço se encontra entre 4-12%, preferivelmente 4-8%, o processo de deposição química inclui extrair uma pequena quantidade de cromo do aço de substrato para o revestimento de carboneto de vanádio ou nióbio, onde se distribui substancialmente homogeneamente, e ajuda a prover uma resistência de adesão ao revestimento.
