Abstract
"PROCESSO E APARELHO PARA FUNDIR TIRA DE AçO CONTINUAMENTE". Um fundidor de cilindros gêmeos (11) produz tira de aço fina (12) que passa através de um primeiro envoltório (37) para uma cadeia de cilindros puxadores (14) incluindo cilindros puxadores (50) através dos quais a tira passa para um segundo envoltório (61). A tira passa horizontalmente através do envoltório (61) para um trem de laminação a quente em linha (16) que fecha a extremidade de saída do envoltório (61) e promove a laminação a quente da tira, quando a mesma sais desse envoltório. Os envoltórios (37) e (61) são selados contra o ingresso de ar atmosférico e os dois mantêm níveis de oxigênio menores do que o da atmosfera circundante a fim de se reduzir a formação de carepa na tira. A segunda câmara (61) é equipada com bocais de pulverização de água (67, 68) capazes de operar para pulverizar fina névoa de gotículas de água sobre a superfície superior da tira quando a mesma passa através desse envoltório, para gerar dessa maneira vapor que produz uma pressão superatmosférica dentro do envoltório, impedindo o ingresso de ar atmosférico.
