<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
EMI4.1
EMI4.4
P9'.da3.ne sur une éthylamine Prcet3±;nb l'atome d'azote un reste alcoylique ou aralcoyiique non substitue ou substitué, et en position p un reste transformable en un groupe aminogène tertiairepar exemple un hydroxyle;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

and exhibiting, in positions 5 and 8, unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or aralkyl groups, as well as their salts.
As alkyl or aralkyl groups, there may be mentioned especially methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl or benzyl groups. As substituents of these radicals, there are, for example, free or substituted amino groups, etherified hydroxyls or halogen atoms or also, on the aryl radical, lower alkyl radicals.
Besides the fact that these new compounds carry the residues indicated above in positions 5 and 8, they can also carry any substituents, for example in position 6 or 7 of the hydrocarbon residues, in particular of the lower alkyl groups. and / or in position 3 a halogen atom such as a chlorine atom, a hydroxyl or a free or etherified mercaptanic group, for example a lower alkoxy group or on the other hand a free or substituted aminogenic group such as a lower dislcoylaminogen group.
These new compounds and very particularly 8-methyl- and 8-ethyl-3-chloro-5-benzyl-piperazol [c [) pyridazine exhibit valuable pharmacological properties, in particular an effect of increasing motility and an effect of central nervous system excitation They can therefore be used as stimulants or as intermediates
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
for the preparation of medicaments.
As already indicated, the present invention relates to a new and surprising process for preparing the piperazo-pyridazines defined above. This process consists in reacting 3,4-4dihaloridaznes with secondary-tertiary ethylenediamines, the substituents on the secondary aminogenic group and on the tertiary aminogenic group being unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or aralkyl groups This reaction leading to piperazo [c] pyridazines can be carried out directly or in several stages.
The direct reaction can be illustrated by the example represented by the reaction scheme:
EMI3.1
This new process must be considered surprising.
Tests have in fact shown that by reacting, for example, 3,4,6-trichlropyridazjne both with unsubstituted ethylene diamine and with NN-diethylethylenediamine, no piperazo compounds were obtained. [c] pyridznaic

halogen.
Preference is given to using des, ïü-.âiaicoy .-- or diaralkyl-N'-monoalkylQY1- or-monoaralkyl-ethyl% ene-diamines.
The starting materials can also be used in the form of their salts, in which case the reaction is advantageously carried out in the presence of a condensing agent.
. One multistage embodiment of this procedure is, for example, to first replace the halogen atom in position 4 of the pyridazine directly
EMI4.3
or in several stages by the (trt1o-amino) -ethYl-aminogen group and then carry out the cyclization at the 3-position of the pyridazine.
This is how we can first react the halogen atom located in position 4 of the
EMI4.4
P9'.da3.ne on an ethylamine Prcet3 ±; nb the nitrogen atom an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or aralkyl residue, and in position p a residue convertible into a tertiary aminogenic group, for example a hydroxyl;
in the following stages, this hydroxyl is then converted into
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
an ester group which can react, for example by means of a halogenated hydracid such as hydrochloric acid, then exchanges it for a tertiary aminogenic group whose sutituents are unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or aralocyl groups and finally simultaneously or subsequently closes the ring .
Upon exchange of the hydroxyl transformed into a reactable ester group with the tertiary aminogen group, depending on the conditions of reaction 11, it may happen that another hydroxyl in the form of a reactable ester group, for example present at position 6 of pyridazine, in particular a halogen atom such as chlorine is replaced by the tertiary aminogenic group.
The reactions are carried out according to methods known per se, for example in the presence or absence of diluting and / or condensing agents and / or catalysts, at room temperature or preferably hot, in the open air. or in a vacuum, under pressure.
In the compounds obtained, it is possible, in the usual manner, to transform substituents or to replace them with hydrogen atoms. Thus it is possible to etherify or esterify hydroxyls or mercaptanic groups or to replace them with halogen atoms, or to replace the hydroxyls with sulfur atoms.
Free or etherified mercaptanic groups can,
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
in turn, be exchanged for aminogenic groups, for halogen atoms for hydroxyls or for hydroxyls or etherified mercaptanic groups, or for aminogenic groups or for hydrogen. The exchange of a halogen atom for an etherified hydroxyl such as an alkoxy group is carried out, for example, by reaction with a metal salt of the corresponding alcohol, and the exchange against an aminogenic group by reaction with 1 ' corresponding amines. The replacement with hydrogen is preferably carried out catalytically,
for example in the presence of Raney nickel or in the presence of a palladium catalyst.
Depending on the substituents present in the products of the process, different salts can be prepared. Compounds of basic character, in particular those comprising basic substitutes form and salts with inorganic or organic acids.
As acids which can form salts, the following can be used, for example: halogenated hydracids, sulfuric acids; phosphoric acids, nitrogen acid, perchloric acid; aliphatic, alicyclic a @ motic or heterocyclic carboxylic or sulfonic acids, such as formic, acetic propionic, oxalic succinic, glycolic, active malic, tartaric, citric, ascorbic, hydroxy-maleic, dihydroxymaleic or pyruvic acids, phenyl-acetic acids , benzoic, p-amino-beznoqieu anthranilic,
