le nouvel appareil se caractérise par le fait que le café moulu,versé dans l'eau à bouillir, est forcé, par la pression de la vapeur, à remonter d'une façon connue sous forme d'infusion au travers d'une tuyauterie, et au travers de deux tamis prévus au-dessous et au-dessus d'un récipient diffuseur inséré dans la dite tuyauterie, l'extrémité infé- rieure de celle-ci plongeant presque au fond du réservoir d'eau, alors que l'extrémité supérieure débouche dans une cloche en verre de sorte que l'infusion de café est forcée d'envahir avec violence cette cloche, après quoi elle tom- be dans un réservoir récoltant l'infusion, ce réservoir é- tant muni d'un bec de versement et placé solidement sur le dit réservoir d'eau au moyen d'un assemblage convenable.
Le genre de cet assemblage entre les deux réservoirs, et le moyen de fixer une bague filetée en laiton sur le ré- cipient inférieur en aluminium, par l'intermédiaire d'un coulage de plomb, autour du con du réservoir inférieur, for-

Dans cette figure : 1 est le réservoir inférieur dans lequel on fait bouillir de l'eau. C'est dans ce récipient que l'on verse le café moulu. un tuyau 2 dont l'extrémité inférieure aboutit près du fond du réservoir 1 et dont l'ex- trémité supérieure débouche dans un diffuseur 3 pourvu d'un tamie 4 se trouvant un peu au-dessus du fond du diffuseur Il et formant avec celui-ci une chambre de filtration 3 communiquant par plusieurs trous avec l'intérieur du dit tuyau. La chambre de diffusion 11 communique avec le tuyau 7 dont l'extrémité inférieure comporte un tamis 13 alors qu'à son extrémité supérieure il comporte une cloche en ver- re 9.
Cette cloche en verre est montée sur une garniture métallique 10 pourvue de perforations servant à l'égout- tage de 1''infusion de café qui retombe après avoir été en communication avec la paroi de la cloche. Le tuyau 7 com- munique avec la chambre de la cloche par un trou de diamè- tre réduit 12. de sorte que le liquide jaillit avec force contre la cloche. Un réservoir 8 muni d'une anse sert à la récolte de l'infusion s'écoulant de la cloche 9 par les trous 10.
La réservoir 8 est assemblé avec le réservoir 1 au moyen d'un pas de vis prévu sur la bague en laiton 5 et un filetage formé dans la partie inférieure d'un pro- longement cylindrique du réservoir 8.. Pour solidariser la bague en laiton 14 avec le réservoir en aluminium 1, on coule entre cette bague et la paroi d'aluminium du plomb, de manière à former un collier 15 lequel s'introduit aussi dans des creux de la bague 14, donnant ainsi l'assemblage

désiré sans avoir recours à des soudures d'ailleurs diffi- ciles à réaliser, une garniture en caoutchouc 6 établit la jonction étanche entre le diffuseur Il et le tuyau 7.
Dans la pratique le diffuseur 11 forme une pièce unique avec le tuyau 2.
La fonctionnement de cet appareil peut être bien ob- servé de la cloche en verre laquelle reste librement ex- posée à la vue. Cette cloche peut être aisément démontée pour le nettoyage.
L'invention a été décrite et illustrée à titre pure- ment indicatif et nullement limitatif et il va de soi que de nombreuses modifications peuvent être apportées à ses détails sans s'écarter de son esprit.

In this figure: 1 is the lower tank in which water is boiled. It is in this container that we pour the ground coffee. a pipe 2, the lower end of which ends near the bottom of the tank 1 and the upper end of which opens into a diffuser 3 provided with a screen 4 located a little above the bottom of the diffuser II and forming with that -Here a filtration chamber 3 communicating through several holes with the interior of said pipe. The diffusion chamber 11 communicates with the pipe 7, the lower end of which comprises a screen 13, while at its upper end it comprises a glass bell 9.
This glass bell is mounted on a metal insert 10 provided with perforations for draining the infusion of coffee which falls after having been in communication with the wall of the bell. The pipe 7 communicates with the chamber of the bell through a hole of reduced diameter 12 so that the liquid squirts with force against the bell. A reservoir 8 provided with a handle is used to collect the infusion flowing from the bell 9 through the holes 10.
The reservoir 8 is assembled with the reservoir 1 by means of a screw thread provided on the brass ring 5 and a thread formed in the lower part of a cylindrical extension of the reservoir 8. To secure the brass ring 14 with the aluminum tank 1, one flows between this ring and the aluminum wall of the lead, so as to form a collar 15 which is also introduced into the hollows of the ring 14, thus giving the assembly

The operation of this apparatus can be well observed from the glass bell, which remains freely exposed to view. This bell can be easily removed for cleaning.
