Abstract
Un proceso para producir un producto de ácido adípico caracterizado porque comprende hacer reaccionar un sustrato de fórmula (1) o una mono- o di- lactona del mismo, donde X es, independientemente, seleccionado del grupo de hidroxilo, oxo, halo, aciloxi e hidrógeno provisto que por lo menos un X no es hidrógeno, y cada R es, independientemente, seleccionado del grupo de iones formadores de sal, hidrógeno e hidrocarbilo o hidrocarbilo substituido con hidrógeno, en la presencia de un catalizador que comprende platino y rodio y un soporte seleccionado del grupo que consiste de zirconia, zirconia estabilizada (dopada), compuestos de zirconia-óxido de metal y mezclas de los mismos, donde la relación molar de platino a rodio está en un rango que abarca de aproximadamente 3:1 a aproximadamente 1:2, platino está presente en una cantidad en el rango de 0.4% en peso a 1.4% en peso, y rodio está presente en una cantidad en el rango de desde 0.1% en peso a 0.8% en peso.
