Abstract
Un catalizador util para la alquilacion o transalquilacion de compuestos aromáticos. El catalizador es un catalizador zeolítico tratado con ácido que se produce por un proceso que incluye el contacto con un catalizador zeolítico ácido que comprende una superficie de aluminio no estructural y aluminio estructural con un ácido orgánico dibásico en una proporcion en peso de catalizador a ácido dentro del rango entre aproximadamente 2:1 y aproximadamente 20:1 y a una temperatura dentro del rango entre aproximadamente 50sC y aproximadamente 100sC para eliminar de manera selectiva por lo menos una porcion de la superficie de aluminio no estructural. El catalizador que se obtiene puede tener una constante de velocidad de primer orden medida, kcum, para la alquilacion de benceno con propileno para formar cumeno, de por lo menos 2,0 cm3/s g.
