Abstract
Un proceso para producir plantas transgénicas o células de plantas capaces de expresar una secuencia de codificación transgénica de interés bajo control transcripcional de un promotor nuclear hospedante mediante la introducción en el genoma nuclear de un vector que comprende en su transcripto una secuencia para unión a un ribosoma citoplásmico de plantas, y aguas abajo de la misma dicha secuencia de codificación transgénica. Un vector para transformar células de plantas, dicho vector carente de un promotor funcional para la transcripción de dicha secuencia de codificación, en donde la secuencia para unión a un ribosoma citoplásmico de plantas es un sitio de entrada a ribosomas interno (IRES) de origen de plantas, de origen viral de plantas, de origen sintético o aislado de otros organismos. Dicho vector comprende adicionalmente una secuencia que codifica un péptido senal diana entre dicha secuencia para unión a un ribosoma citoplásmico de plantas y dichas secuencia de codificación. El vector además comprende una senal de terminación de traducción aguas arriba de dicha secuencia para unión a un ribosoma citoplásmico de plantas; el vector puede estar incorporado en un transposón de modo de dirigir el vector a un sitio transcripcional deseado en dicho genoma nuclear hospedante.
