Abstract

Se proveen productos de aislacion de fibra de vidrio, y métodos de fabricacion de fibras de vidrio de diámetro pequeno con escasos defectos que originan fatiga. Los productos de aislacion de esta invencion pueden proveer la misma resistencia térmica o valor R con reducciones en la densidad de fibra de al menos aproximadamente 20% o más al tiempo que se logra una aceptable recuperacion del espesor nominal a continuacion de la compresion. Los métodos provistos mediante esta invencion pueden producir fibras de vidrio de diámetro fino con mas escasos defectos de una combinacion de velocidades más bajas de gas atenuante y el uso de hiladoras que tiene más y más pequenos orificios. Un método preferido de la invencion utiliza un dispositivo para centrifugacion interna de fibras minerales que incluye una centrífuga equipada con una banda periférica perforada con orificios distribuidos en una pluralidad de zonas anulares (ZA) dispuestas una encima de la otra, suponiendo que la centrífuga está en posicion de centrifugacion.
