Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un proceso para la polimerización contínua en fase gaseosa de una o más olefinas en un reactor de lechofluidificado y/o mecánicamente agitado, que comprende una etapa para extraer el polímero fuera delreacto r, en donde una porción del lecho se transfiere alinterior de una tolva de esclusa y se aisla entonces del reactor, en la tolva de esclusa, durante un período de 5 a 120 segundos, de manera que polimerizauna cantidad sustancial de laolefina u olef inas en dicha porción, antes que el polímero así aislado en dicha porción se descargue fuera de la tolva deesclusa. El proceso reduce ventajosamente la cantidad de gas extraído con el polímero que ha de reciclarse al interior delreactor y mejora ladesgasificación del polímero mediante el calor de la reacción de polimerización durante el período de aislamiento en la tolva de esclusa.
