- the faceplate 22 of this embodiment further includes a suppressing member 44 .
- the suppressing member 44 includes an extension portion 46 that extends toward the inside of the electronic device 10 from the main body plate 36 along the insertion direction (upward direction) of the circuit board 20 , and an extension portion 46 extending toward the second connector 34 from the extension portion 46 . and a protruding portion 48 protruding toward (toward the inner side of the opening 38).
- the face plate 22 is attached to the circuit board 20 by engaging the circuit board 20 with the claws 40b described above. At this time, as shown in FIG. Insert into opening 38 of plate 22 .
- the projecting portion 48 is provided so as to interfere with the second connector 34 when the second connector 34 is inserted into the opening 38 . Therefore, when the second connector 34 is inserted into the opening 38, the extension 46 is elastically deformed accordingly. This elastic deformation reduces the possibility that the insertion of the second connector 34 into the opening 38 is greatly hindered by the interference.
- the suppressing member 44 According to the suppressing member 44, deterioration of the cooling efficiency of the electronic device 10 can be suppressed. That is, as shown in FIG. 3B, when the second connector 34 is inserted into the opening 38, a gap g is created between the opening 38 and the second connector 34. As shown in FIG. If air other than the cooling air A (for example, warm air) enters the slot 24 through the gap g, the air-cooling efficiency of the circuit board 20 by the cooling air A may deteriorate. Regarding this, in the present embodiment, the restraining member 44 provided around the opening 38 restricts the path of the air leading into the housing 16 from the gap g between the opening 38 and the second connector 34 . As a result, the flow of air in the gap g is suppressed, and deterioration of the cooling efficiency of the electronic device 10 is suppressed.
- the cooling air A for example, warm air
- the suppression member 44 is preferably provided for each of the four sides (38a, 38b, 38c, 38d) bordering the square shape ( See Figure 2). Thereby, the passage of air can be suitably restricted.
- the extending portion 46 is provided with the edge 38e of the opening 38 as a base end, but as long as it extends from the body plate 36 toward the inside of the electronic device 10,
- the proximal end of the portion 46 is not limited to the edge 38e.
- the protruding portion 48 protrudes from the tip 46a of the extending portion 46 in the example of the present embodiment, it may protrude from the middle of the extending portion 46 (intermediate portion 46b).
- the present embodiment it is possible to suppress the flow of air in the gap g while creating the gap g. That is, if it is desired to prevent air from entering and exiting the housing 16 through the gap g, simply thinking, the gap g itself should be eliminated. However, it is not realistic to completely eliminate the gap g (always make the tolerance of the second connector 34 and the face plate 22 zero) in actual manufacturing. Further, if there is no gap g at all, the size of the opening 38 does not have any margin with respect to the size of the second connector 34 , so that it is difficult to insert the second connector 34 into the opening 38 . Therefore, considering the workability during manufacturing, it is rather undesirable that there is no gap g at all.
- the suppressing member 44 having a simple configuration provided on the face plate 22 suppresses the occurrence of the small gap g.
- the air flow in the gap g is suppressed.
- FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing the faceplate 22 according to Modification 1.
- FIG. 5A is a cross-sectional view taken along line VA--VA of FIG. 4.
- FIG. 5B is a diagram showing a state in which the second connector 34 is inserted into the opening 38 in FIG. 5A.
- the face plate 22 may be provided with a suppressing member 44 (44A) extending from the edge 38e of the opening 38 toward the inner side of the opening 38.
- the suppressing member 44A deforms so as to warp in the direction of insertion of the second connector 34 (see FIG. 5B).
- the operation of inserting the second connector 34 into the opening 38 is not hindered by the suppressing member 44A during manufacturing, and the flow of air in the gap g is prevented during use of the electronic device 10. can be suppressed.
- FIG. 6 is a diagram showing a further modification of the suppressing member 44A of FIG. 5A.
- the suppressing member 44A of this modification may be provided so as to extend from the edge 38e of the opening 38 toward the second connector 34. In other words, as illustrated in FIG. 6, it is not necessary to provide the restraining member 44A within the opening 38 as long as it extends from the edge 38e toward the second connector 34. As shown in FIG.
- FIG. 7 is a perspective view showing a faceplate 22 according to Modification 2.
- FIG. 8A is a cross-sectional view taken along line VIIIA-VIIIA of FIG. 7.
- FIG. 8B is a diagram showing a state in which the second connector 34 is inserted into the opening 38 in FIG. 8A.
- the face plate 22 may be provided with a suppressing member 44 (44B) as shown in FIG.
- the suppressing member 44B has a curved shape extending from the main body plate 36 toward the inside of the electronic device 10 and protruding toward the connector at its intermediate portion 44Ba.
- the tip 44Bb of the suppressing member 44B faces the direction opposite to the second connector 34. Thereby, the suppressing member 44B functions as a guide when inserting the second connector 34 into the opening 38 .
- the faceplate 22 (restraining member 44) may be made of a plastic material.
- the suppressing member 44 may be plastically deformed. This will be explained below.
- FIG. 9 is a diagram for explaining the faceplate 22 according to Modification 3.
- FIG. 9 is a diagram for explaining the faceplate 22 according to Modification 3.
- a suppressing member 44C in FIG. 9 is an example of the suppressing member 44 having plasticity.
- the suppression member 44C can be plastically deformed by interference with the second connector 34 when the second connector 34 is inserted into the opening 38 . Therefore, the suppressing member 44C does not hinder the insertion of the second connector 34 into the opening 38, like the other suppressing members 44 described so far.
- the suppression member 44C suppresses the flow of air in the gap g, deterioration of the cooling efficiency of the electronic device 10 can be suppressed in the same manner as the other suppression members 44 described so far. Since the suppression member 44C should suppress the flow of air in the gap g, for example, the suppression member 44C and the second connector 34 after being deformed may not be in contact with each other.
- the original shape of the suppressing member 44C illustrated in FIG. 9 is the same as the suppressing member 44A (see FIG. 5A) of Modification 1.
- the shape of the suppressing member 44 to be plastic is not limited to this, and for example, shapes illustrated in other drawings may be appropriately applied.
- the shape of the opening 38 of the face plate 22 has been described as being square in the embodiment, the shape of the opening 38 is not limited to a square.
- opening 38 may be annular. In this case, it is preferable to provide the suppressing member 44 so as to surround the opening 38 .
- the restraining member (44) extends from the body plate (36) toward the inside of the electronic device (10) along the insertion direction of the circuit board (20) into the slot (24). It may have a portion (46) and a projection (48) projecting from said extension (46) towards said connector (34). This restricts the passage of air entering the electronic device (10) through the gap (g).
- the suppressing member (44A) may be provided so as to extend from the edge (38e) of the opening (38) toward the connector (34). This restricts the passage of air entering the electronic device (10) through the gap (g).
- the suppressing member (44B) extends from the body plate (36) toward the inside of the electronic device (10), and its intermediate portion (44Ba) protrudes toward the connector (34). It may have a curved shape. As a result, the restraining member (44B) restricts the passage of air entering the electronic device (10) through the gap (g), and does not interfere with the work of inserting the connector (34) into the opening (38). It becomes difficult to become.
- the suppressing member (44) has elasticity and may be provided so as to interfere with the connector (34) when the connector (34) is inserted into the opening (38). As a result, the suppressing member (44) restricts the passage of air entering the electronic device (10) through the gap (g), and its deformation allows the connector (34) to be inserted into the opening (38). It becomes difficult to get in the way of
- the suppressing member (44C) has plasticity and may be provided so as to interfere with the connector (34) when the connector (34) is inserted into the opening (38). As a result, the suppressing member (44C) restricts the passage of air entering the electronic device (10) through the gap (g), and its deformation allows the connector (34) to be inserted into the opening (38). It becomes difficult to get in the way of
- the shape of the opening (38) is square, and the suppressing member (44) may be provided for each of the four sides (38a to 38d) of the opening (38). - the shape of the opening (38) may be an annular shape, and the suppressing member (44) may be provided so as to surround the opening (38). Thereby, the suppressing member (44) can preferably suppress the flow of air in the gap (g) between the annular opening (38) and the connector (34).
- the end of the circuit board (20) in the extraction direction opposite to the insertion direction into the slot (24) may be attached to the face plate (22). Thereby, when the circuit board (20) is inserted into the slot (24), the face plate (22) naturally closes the opening (24a) of the slot (24).
