Definitions
- the present invention relates to a water-soluble film of polyvinyl alcohol resin, which is preferably used for packing various drugs, and a package using the same.
- water-soluble films have been used in a wide range of fields such as liquid detergents, packaging of various chemicals such as agricultural chemicals and bactericides, seed tapes containing seeds, etc. by utilizing their water solubility.
- a polyvinyl alcohol resin (hereinafter sometimes referred to as PVA) is mainly used in the water-soluble film used for such an application, and various additives such as a plasticizer are blended or modified polyvinyl alcohol is used. Therefore, a film having increased water solubility has been proposed (for example, Patent Document 1).
- An object of the present invention is to provide a water-soluble film which is excellent in transparency and water solubility of the film and in which the sticking of the films is suppressed.
- the present invention relates to the following [1] to [7].
- [1] The crystallite size obtained from an X-ray profile obtained by wide-angle X-ray measurement of a water-soluble film containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin is 4.0 to 5.5 nm, and the crystallinity is 10.0 to 25.0. %, and the external haze is 7.0 to 30.0%.
- a PVA water-soluble film having excellent solubility in water, in which transparency of the film and sticking of the films to each other are suppressed, and a package using the PVA water-soluble film.
- the transparency of the film can be controlled by adjusting the haze value.
- the haze is caused by the unevenness of the material surface, and the external haze that represents the degree to which the film appears cloudy due to light scattering on the surface of the film, and the composition and phase separation state of the material itself cause the light inside the film.
- a method of reducing the total haze that is, a method of reducing the outer haze, a method of reducing the inner haze, or both methods is adopted.
- the film surface may be smoothed, but in a PVA film having excellent water solubility, the smoother the film surface, the more the contact area between films in a film roll or the like. Therefore, when the films absorb moisture, the films tend to stick to each other. As a result, tearing and stretching during unwinding of the film roll, rupture during storage of the package due to clogging of the package, leakage of the contents, and the like are likely to occur. Therefore, there is a limit to the reduction of the external haze by smoothing the film, and in the present invention, the external haze needs to be 7.0% or more.
- the external haze is preferably 8.0% or more, more preferably 9.0% or more, further preferably 10.0% or more, and particularly preferably 11.0% or more. Further, if the external haze is too high, it becomes difficult to secure the transparency of the film, so in the present invention, it is necessary to be 30.0% or less.
- the external haze is preferably 27.0% or less, more preferably 24.0% or less, further preferably 21.0% or more, and particularly preferably 19.0% or less.
- the method of adjusting the external haze is a method of contacting the film with an embossing roll, a method of making unevenness on the surface of a metal roll or a belt used for film formation, a method of transferring it when the film contacts, an inorganic substance on the surface of the film.
- a method of applying fine particles of an organic substance a method of mixing fine particles of an inorganic substance or an organic substance in a film-forming stock solution of a film, and the like can be mentioned.
- inorganic or organic fine particles it is preferable to use fine particles having a refractive index close to PVA in order to suppress an increase in internal haze.
- the present invention by controlling the correlation between the crystallite size and the crystallinity, even if the crystallite size is small, by ensuring the necessary crystallinity, the transparency of the film and the adhesion between the films.
- the present invention has led to the invention of a water-soluble film capable of exhibiting suppression.
- the water-soluble film of the present invention has a crystallite size of 4.0 to 5.5 nm determined from an X-ray profile obtained by wide-angle X-ray measurement and a crystallinity of 10.0 to 25.0%.
- the wide-angle X-ray measurement is based on the principle that when a sample is irradiated with X-rays, the X-rays are scattered and interfered by the electrons around the atoms, and the diffraction that occurs as a result is analyzed.
- the crystallinity, crystallite size, etc. can be known.
- the peak top position (2 ⁇ ) of the fitting function at this time was set to be in the (101) plane, that is, near 20°. (Fig. 3).
- the peak area of this fitting function is the amorphous amount (A).
- -Fitness of Crystal Peaks Similarly, the peaks on the (101) plane and the (200) plane of the profile data after baseline correction (Fig. 2) were fitted by the same function as above. At this time, the peak top was set to be around 20° for the (101) plane and around 23° for the (200) plane.
- Crystallinity (%) ⁇ (B)+(C) ⁇ / ⁇ (A)+(B)+(C) ⁇ 100 -Calculation of crystallite size
- Crystallite size D (nm) K ⁇ / ⁇ cos ⁇
- the crystallite size of the film is 4.0 to 5.5 nm.
- the crystallite size is larger than 5.5 nm, the internal haze of the film tends to increase and the transparency of the film is impaired.
- the thickness is smaller than 4.0 nm, the crystals are liable to be dissolved on the contrary, so that the sticking of the films is likely to occur.
- the upper limit of the crystallite size is preferably 5.0 nm or less, and more preferably 4.8 nm or less.
- the lower limit of the crystallite size is preferably 4.3 nm or more, more preferably 4.5 nm or more.
- the crystallinity of the film is 10.0 to 25.0%.
- the crystallinity is higher than 25.0%, the water solubility of the film is insufficient, and undissolved residue is likely to occur.
- it is less than 10.0%, the crystals are likely to be dissolved, and thus the films are likely to be stuck to each other.
- the upper limit of the crystallinity is preferably 23.0% or less, more preferably 21.0% or less.
- the lower limit of the crystallinity is preferably 13.0% or more, more preferably 15.0% or more.
- the internal haze of the film is preferably 35.0% or less from the viewpoint of transparency. If the internal haze of the film exceeds 35.0%, sufficient transparency of the film may not be ensured.

- the degree of polymerization of PVA is not particularly limited, but the lower limit of the degree of polymerization is preferably 200 or more from the viewpoint of film strength, more preferably 300 or more, and further preferably 500 or more.
- the upper limit of the degree of polymerization is preferably 8,000 or less, more preferably 5,000 or less, and more preferably 3,000 or less from the viewpoints of PVA productivity and PVA film productivity. Is more preferable.

- plasticizers include polyhydric alcohols, specifically, for example, polyhydric alcohols such as ethylene glycol, glycerin, diglycerin, propylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, tetraethylene glycol, trimethylolpropane, and sorbitol. And so on. These plasticizers may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Among these plasticizers, ethylene glycol or glycerin is preferable, and glycerin is more preferable, from the viewpoint that it is difficult to bleed out to the film surface.
- the crystallite size and crystallinity can be adjusted by adjusting the amount of plasticizer contained in the PVA film. Although it depends on the primary structure of the PVA molecular chain, generally, a PVA film containing a small amount of a plasticizer is more likely to be crystallized by heat treatment than a PVA film containing no plasticizer. It is presumed that this is because the PVA molecule becomes easy to move, and it becomes easier to have a more energetically stable crystal structure. On the other hand, when the PVA film contains an excessive amount of plasticizer, the progress of crystallization is inhibited on the contrary. It is presumed that this is because the amount of the plasticizer that interacts with the hydroxyl group of the PVA molecule increases and the interaction between the PVA molecules weakens.
- the plasticizer content is preferably 8 to 35 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of PVA.
- the content of the plasticizer is less than 8 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of PVA and when it exceeds 35 parts by mass, the crystallinity, the crystallite size, or both may be too small.
- the content of the plasticizer with respect to 100 parts by mass of PVA is more preferably 10 to 30 parts by mass, further preferably 15 to 25 parts by mass.
- ⁇ Starch/water-soluble polymer> For the purpose of imparting mechanical strength to the PVA film, maintaining moisture resistance when handling the film, or controlling the rate of softening due to water absorption when dissolving the film, the film of the present invention A water-soluble polymer other than starch and/or PVA may be contained.
- starch examples include natural starches such as corn starch, potato starch, sweet potato starch, wheat starch, rice starch, tapioca starch, sago starch and the like; processed starches which have been subjected to etherification, esterification, oxidation, etc.
- the modified starches are particularly preferable.
- the content of starch in the PVA film is preferably 15 parts by mass or less, and more preferably 10 parts by mass or less, based on 100 parts by mass of PVA. If the content is more than 15 parts by mass, the process passability may be deteriorated.
- water-soluble polymer other than PVA for example, dextrin, gelatin, glue, casein, shellac, gum arabic, polyacrylic acid amide, sodium polyacrylate, polyvinyl methyl ether, a copolymer of methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride
- examples thereof include copolymers of vinyl acetate and itaconic acid, polyvinylpyrrolidone, cellulose, acetyl cellulose, acetyl butyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, sodium alginate and the like.
- the content of the water-soluble polymer other than PVA in the PVA film is preferably 15 parts by mass or less, and more preferably 10 parts by mass or less with respect to 100 parts by mass of PVA. If the content is more than 15 parts by mass, the water solubility of the film may be insufficient.
- the PVA film preferably contains a surfactant from the viewpoints of handleability, improvement of releasability from a film forming apparatus when producing the PVA film, reduction of film surface abnormality, and the like.

- polypropylene glycol ether type such as polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene ether
- allyl phenyl ether type such as polyoxyalkylene allyl phenyl ether.
- the surfactants may be used alone or in combination of two or more.
- nonionic surfactants are preferable because they are excellent in the effect of reducing abnormalities on the film surface during film formation, and alkanolamide type surfactants are more preferable, and aliphatic carboxylic acids (for example, Further, dialkanolamides (eg, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acids having 8 to 30 carbon atoms) (eg, diethanolamide) are more preferable.
- the content of the surfactant in the PVA film is preferably 0.01 parts by mass or more, more preferably 0.02 parts by mass or more, and 0.05 parts by mass or more with respect to 100 parts by mass of PVA. More preferably, On the other hand, the upper limit of the content of the surfactant is preferably 10 parts by mass or less, more preferably 1 part by mass or less, further preferably 0.5 parts by mass or less, and 0.3 part by mass. It is particularly preferable that the content is not more than part. When the content is less than 0.02 parts by mass, problems such as poor peelability from the film forming apparatus when producing a PVA film or blocking between films tend to occur. On the other hand, when the content is more than 1 part by mass, problems such as bleed-out on the film surface and deterioration of the film appearance due to aggregation of the surfactant are likely to occur.

- the fillers may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Among these, at least one selected from the group consisting of talc, silica, titanium dioxide and calcium carbonate is preferable from the viewpoints of dispersibility in a PVA polymer, price, availability, film appearance, and the like.
- the content of the filler is preferably 0.1 to 8 parts by mass and more preferably 0.5 to 5 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of PVA.

- the ratio of the total mass of PVA, plasticizer, starch, water-soluble polymer other than PVA, and surfactant to the total mass of the PVA film of the present invention is in the range of 60 to 100% by mass. It is more preferably in the range of 80 to 100% by mass, further preferably in the range of 90 to 100% by mass.
- the PVA water-soluble film of the present invention preferably has a complete dissolution time of 150 seconds or less when immersed in deionized water at 10°C.
- the complete dissolution time is more preferably 90 seconds or less, further preferably 60 seconds or less, and particularly preferably 45 seconds or less.
- the lower limit of the complete dissolution time is not particularly limited, but in the case of a water-soluble film whose complete dissolution time is too short, problems such as blocking between films due to absorption of moisture in the atmosphere and deterioration of film strength tend to occur. Therefore, it is preferably 5 seconds or longer, more preferably 10 seconds or longer, further preferably 15 seconds or longer, and particularly preferably 20 seconds or longer.
- the thickness of the water-soluble film of the present invention is not particularly limited, but if the thickness is too thick, the secondary workability tends to deteriorate, so it is preferably 200 ⁇ m or less, more preferably 150 ⁇ m or less, The thickness is more preferably 100 ⁇ m or less, further preferably 50 ⁇ m or less. If the thickness is too thin, problems may occur in the mechanical strength of the water-soluble film, so that the thickness is preferably 5 ⁇ m or more, more preferably 10 ⁇ m or more, further preferably 15 ⁇ m or more, It is particularly preferable that the thickness is 20 ⁇ m or more.
- the thickness of the water-soluble film can be obtained as an average value by measuring the thicknesses at arbitrary 10 points (for example, at arbitrary 10 points on a straight line drawn in the length direction of the PVA film).
- the method for forming the water-soluble film is not particularly limited, and a casting film-forming method or a wet film-forming method using a film-forming stock solution obtained by homogenizing PVA with a solvent, an additive, etc.
- any method such as a method of forming a film by a combination or a method such as a melt extrusion film forming method or an inflation molding method in which the above-mentioned film forming stock solution is obtained by using an extruder and is extruded from a T die or the like. Can be formed into a film.
- the casting film forming method and the melt extrusion film forming method are preferable because a homogeneous film can be obtained with high productivity.
- the crystallite size when adjusting the crystallite size, it is possible to adjust the crystallite size, and thus the haze, by previously including a nucleating agent which becomes crystal nuclei in the resin stock solution.
- a nucleating agent which becomes crystal nuclei in the resin stock solution.
- As a simple control method of the content of the nucleating agent before the film-forming solution is formed into a film, in order to adjust the amount of fine particles such as PVA which can be a nucleating agent, it is necessary to adjust the pore size and the number of installed filters of the filter. It may be controlled or inorganic particles may be used as an additive.
- the casting film forming method or the melt extrusion film forming method of the water-soluble film will be described.
- a water-soluble film is formed by a casting film forming method or a melt extrusion film forming method
- the above solution for forming a film is sprinkled in a film form on a support such as a metal roll or a metal belt and heated to form a solvent.
- a support such as a metal roll or a metal belt
- the solidified film is peeled from the support, dried by a drying roll, a drying oven or the like if necessary, further heat-treated as necessary, and wound to form a roll-shaped long water-soluble film. Can be obtained.
- the PVA film drowned on the support undergoes crystallization while being heated and dried on the support and in the subsequent drying step. Crystallization of PVA does not proceed because the interaction between PVA molecules is weak while the moisture content of the PVA film is too high. On the other hand, even if the moisture content becomes too low, the mobility of the PVA molecular chain decreases. Because it does, it is difficult to proceed. Therefore, if the PVA film is heated at an appropriate water content that facilitates the crystallization of PVA, the mobility of the PVA molecular chain is increased, and the crystallization speed is increased. As a result, the crystallinity of the PVA film is increased.
- the crystallite size generally tends to increase as the crystallinity increases, but it does not depend on it alone, and as described above, depends on the number of fine particles such as microcrystals and nucleating agents generated in the initial stage of crystallization. Therefore, the crystallinity and the crystallite size can be adjusted independently.
- the concentration of volatile components (concentration of volatile components such as solvent removed by volatilization or evaporation during film formation) used for forming the PVA film of the present invention is in the range of 50 to 90% by mass. It is preferably in the range of 55 to 80% by mass, and more preferably in the range of 55 to 80% by mass.
- concentration of volatile matter is less than 50% by mass, the viscosity of the stock solution for film formation becomes high, which may make film formation difficult.
- the volatile concentration is more than 90% by mass, the viscosity becomes low and the thickness uniformity of the obtained film is likely to be impaired.
- the higher the volatile concentration and the higher the mobility of PVA molecules the crystal on the support. Since the crystallization tends to proceed, it tends to be difficult to balance the crystallinity and the crystallite size.
- the method for adjusting the stock solution for film formation there is no particular limitation on the method for adjusting the stock solution for film formation, and for example, a method of dissolving PVA and additives such as a plasticizer and a surfactant in a dissolution tank, or a method of hydration using a single-screw or twin-screw extruder
- a method of melting and kneading with a plasticizer, a surfactant, a nucleating agent and the like can be mentioned.
- the filter used to control the content of the nucleating agent serving as crystal nuclei is preferably a metal mesh or metal nonwoven fabric having an average opening of 10 to 150 ⁇ m.
- the filter When using a filter with an opening of less than 10 ⁇ m, the filter is easily clogged, making stable operation for a long time difficult, and the content of the nucleating agent becomes too low, resulting in low crystallinity and large crystallite size. There is a risk that it will be too much.
- film surface defects such as gel are likely to occur in the film, and the content of the nucleating agent becomes too high, resulting in high crystallinity and small crystallite size. There is a risk that it will be too much.
- the surface temperature of the support is preferably 50 to 110° C. when the film-forming stock solution is dripped from a T-die or the like onto a support such as a metal roll or a metal belt.
- the surface temperature is lower than 50° C., the crystallinity is high due to the slow progress of drying, the crystallite size may be too large, and the time required for drying may be long and the productivity may be reduced. .. If it exceeds 110° C., abnormalities in the film surface such as foaming tend to occur, and rapid drying may lead to excessively large amounts of amorphous components, resulting in too low crystallinity.
- the surface temperature is preferably 60 to 105°C, more preferably 65 to 100°C.
- the drying speed may be adjusted by uniformly blowing hot air with a wind speed of 1 to 10 m/sec over the entire area of the non-contact surface side of the PVA film.
- the temperature of the hot air blown to the non-contact surface side is preferably 50 to 150° C., and more preferably 70 to 120° C., from the viewpoint of drying efficiency and drying uniformity.
- the temperature of the hot air exceeds 150° C., abnormalities in the film surface such as foaming are likely to occur, and the rapid dryness causes an excessive amount of amorphous components, which may result in too low a crystallinity. is there.
- the degree of crystallinity may be high due to the slow drying, and the crystallite size may be too large, and the time required for drying may be long and the productivity may be reduced. There is a risk. Further, if the wind speed exceeds 10 m/sec, there is a possibility that a surface abnormality such as a wave pattern will occur on the surface of the film-forming stock solution. On the other hand, when the wind speed is less than 1 m/sec, a constant wind speed unevenness such as a convection vortex is generated on the surface of the stock solution for film formation, which may cause uneven drying.
- the film peeled off from the support is dried on the support preferably to a volatile content of 5 to 50% by mass, peeled off, and further dried if necessary.
- the drying method is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include a method of contacting with a drying furnace or a drying roll. In the case of drying with a plurality of drying rolls, it is preferable to alternately contact one surface and the other surface of the film with the drying roll in order to make both surfaces uniform.
- the number of drying rolls is preferably 3 or more, more preferably 4 or more, and further preferably 5 to 30.
- the temperature of the drying furnace and the drying roll is preferably 40° C. or higher and 110° C. or lower.
- the upper limit of the temperature of the drying furnace or the drying roll is more preferably 100°C or lower, more preferably 90°C or lower, and further preferably 85°C or lower. If the temperature of the drying oven or the drying roll is too high, the crystallinity is high and the crystal size may be too large.
- the lower limit of the temperature of the drying furnace and the drying roll is more preferably 45°C or higher, and further preferably 50°C or higher. If the temperature of the drying oven or the drying roll is too low, the amount of amorphous may be too much.
- the PVA film can be further heat-treated.
- the heat treatment temperature is preferably 60° C. or higher and 135° C. or lower.

Description

D(nm)=Kλ/ωcosθ

重合度Po = ([η]×104/8.29)(1/0.62)
重合度Po = ([η]×104/8.29)(1/0.62)

<可塑剤>
