- a take-up bobbin for an optical fiber cable is a take-up bobbin for an optical fiber cable including a body member around which an optical fiber is wound, and a pair of collar members provided at both ends of the body member.
- the collar member is made of ABS resin
- the body member is made of a material having a smaller linear expansion coefficient than that of the collar member.
- optical fiber cable used herein includes not only a normal cable form in which a cable core is covered with an outer cover, but also an optical fiber tape core wire and an optical unit in which optical fiber tape core wires are twisted together.
- FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view of the winding bobbin for the optical fiber cable according to the embodiment of the present disclosure.
- FIG. 3 is a sectional view taken along line III-III shown in FIG. 1.
- the bobbin of Patent Document 1 uses ABS resin having a relatively high linear expansion coefficient among synthetic resins, it has strength, but the bobbin is in an environment where the temperature changes drastically when the optical fiber cable is wound up. If stored in, the optical fiber cable may collapse due to contraction of the bobbin.
- the bobbin of Patent Document 2 is formed of a polyamide-based resin in which a glass filler is added to both the body portion and the collar portion, and the glass filler fluffed from the polyamide-based resin may damage the optical fiber cable. Further, since it is necessary to add a glass filler to a general resin, the cost is high.
- the present disclosure has been made in view of such circumstances, and is a low-cost winding bobbin for an optical fiber cable that achieves both prevention of collapse of the optical fiber cable due to temperature change and prevention of damage to the optical fiber cable.
