본 발명은 인쇄 특성이 우수한 장식재에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 장식재는 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 방사형 미세 굴곡 구조를 갖는 잉크 수용층을 구비함으로써 잉크 수용층 상에 인쇄된 잉크의 흡수성 및/또는 고착성, 즉 인쇄 적성이 향상되어 선명성이 뛰어나므로 심미적 효과가 우수하다. 또한, 상기 잉크 수용층은 UV 경화를 통해 제조되므로 기재층 상에 직접 코팅이 가능하고, 다양한 종류의 기재층을 포함할 수 있으며; 유기 용매를 사용하지 않는 무용제 타입의 수지 조성물을 사용하여 제조되고, 수용성 잉크에 대한 흡수성 및/또는 고착성이 뛰어나므로 친환경적인 이점이 있다.

Description

인쇄 특성이 우수한 장식재 및 이의 제조방법
본 발명은 인쇄 특성이 우수한 장식재 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 상세하게는 친수성이 나타내고, 특정 표면 구조를 포함하여 표면적이 높은 잉크 수용층을 구비함으로써 고속 인쇄 시에도 인쇄 선명도 및 인쇄 적성이 우수한 장식재 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
최근 인테리어에 관한 관심이 높아지면서 우수한 디자인성을 갖춘 장식재에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 종래 벽지나 바닥재와 같은 장식재에 디자인성을 부여하기 위하여 벽지나 바닥재의 기재층 위에 원하는 디자인이 형성되도록 인쇄층을 형성하는 방법이 사용되어왔다. 이때, 높은 디자인성을 갖춘 장식재를 만들기 위해서는 인쇄층이 기재층 상에 정확하고 선명하게 형성되는 것이 중요하다.
종이는 인쇄층을 형성하기 위한 기재층으로 널리 사용되고 있고, 일반적으로 종이를 기재층으로 사용하는 경우에는 인쇄층을 기재층 상에 형성하는 데 큰 어려움이 없다. 그러나, 기재층의 종류에 따라 인쇄층을 형성하는 잉크가 기재층 상에 잘 고착되지 않을 수 있고, 이에 따라 인쇄층이 나타내는 디자인이 정확히 표현되지 않아 장식재 전체의 외관 품질이 크게 훼손될 수 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 대한민국 공개특허 제2017-0075912호는 기재층에 인쇄층을 형성하기 이전에 인쇄층의 잉크를 수용할 수 있는 잉크 수용층을 기재와 인쇄층 사이에 도입하는 기술을 개시한 바 있다.
그러나, 상기 기술은 80℃ 이상의 온도 조건에서의 열 건조 또는 열 경화를 통하여 잉크 수용층을 형성하는 방식을 가지므로 폴리염화비닐(polyvinylchloride, PVC)과 같이 열에 약한 기재층을 사용하는 경우 기재층의 휨(curl)이 발생될 수 있고, 이를 방지하기 위해서는 기재층에 잉크 수용층을 직접 형성하지 않고, 이미 제조된 잉크 수용층을 전사하는 방식을 적용하여야 하므로 공정상의 한계가 있다.
따라서, 기재층의 종류에 상관없이 잉크 수용층의 직접 형성이 가능하고, 잉크의 흡수성(absorption) 및/또는 고착성(fixation), 즉 인쇄 적성이 우수하여 선명도가 우수한 장식재의 개발이 요구되고 있다.
본 발명의 목적은 기재층의 종류에 상관없이 잉크 수용층의 직접 형성이 가능하고, 인쇄 적성이 우수하여 선명도가 우수한 장식재 및 이의 제조방법을 제공하는데 있다.
이에, 본 발명은 하나의 실시예에서,
기재층, 잉크 수용층 및 인쇄층을 포함하고;
상기 잉크 수용층은 표면에 한 점을 중심부로 하고 상기 중심부에서 주변부로 뻗어나가는 방사형 굴곡 구조인 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 아크릴 수지 조성물의 잉크 수용층을 포함하며; 및
광학 현미경으로 표면 관찰 시 단위 면적(0.1㎠)에 존재하는 잉크 액적의 평균 크기는 50㎛ 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 장식재를 제공한다.
또한, 본 발명은 하나의 실시예에서,
기재층 상에 도포된 아크릴 수지 조성물에 자외선을 조사하여, 표면에 한 점을 중심부로 하고 상기 중심부에서 주변부로 뻗어나가는 방사형 굴곡 구조인 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 잉크 수용층을 형성하는 단계; 및
형성된 잉크 수용층 상에 잉크로 인쇄층을 형성하는 단계를 포함하고,
인쇄층을 형성하는 단계는 50 m/min 내지 150 m/min의 인쇄 속도로 수행되는 장식재의 제조방법을 제공한다.
본 발명에 따른 장식재는 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 방사형 미세 굴곡 구조를 갖는 잉크 수용층을 구비함으로써 잉크 수용층 상에 인쇄된 잉크의 흡수성 및/또는 고착성, 즉 인쇄 적성이 향상되어 선명성이 뛰어나므로 심미적 효과가 우수하다.
또한, 상기 잉크 수용층은 UV 경화를 통해 제조되므로 기재층 상에 직접 코팅이 가능하고, 다양한 종류의 기재층을 포함할 수 있으며; 유기 용매를 사용하지 않는 무용제 타입의 수지 조성물을 사용하여 제조되고, 수용성 잉크에 대한 흡수성 및/또는 고착성이 뛰어나므로 친환경적인 이점이 있다.

본 발명에서, "표면 조도(surface profile)"는 표면에 존재하는 미세한 요철의 정도를 나타내는 것으로, "Rz"로 표현될 수 있다. 여기서, "Rz"은 표면의 단면 곡선으로 기준길이 L을 취하여 그 부분의 평균선에 평행으로 단면 곡선을 횡으로 자르지 않는 직선으로 굴곡 구조의 높은쪽부터 5번째까지의 봉우리와 깊은쪽에서 5번째까지의 계곡 사이의 간격을 측정하여 그 편차를 나타낸 것으로서, "10점 평균 거칠기 (ten point average roughness)"라고도 한다.
또한, 본 발명에서, 단위 "T"는, 필름, 시트 또는 적층 필름을 구성하는 층의 두께를 나타내는 단위로서, 단위 "mm"와 동일할 수 있다.
본 발명은 장식재 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
최근 인테리어에 관한 관심이 높아지면서 우수한 디자인성을 갖춘 장식재에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 종래 벽지나 바닥재와 같은 장식재에 디자인성을 부여하기 위하여 벽지나 바닥재의 기재층 위에 원하는 디자인이 형성되도록 인쇄층을 형성하는 방법이 사용되어왔다. 이때, 높은 디자인성을 갖춘 장식재를 만들기 위해서는 인쇄층이 기재층 상에 정확하고 선명하게 형성되는 것이 중요하다.
그러나, 기재층의 종류에 따라 인쇄층을 형성하는 잉크가 기재층 상에 잘 고착되지 않을 수 있고, 이에 따라 인쇄층이 나타내는 디자인이 정확히 표현되지 않아 장식재 전체의 외관 품질이 크게 훼손될 수 있다. 또한, 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 기재층과 인쇄층 사이에 잉크 수용층을 도입하는 종래 기술들은 대부분 80℃ 이상의 온도 조건에서의 열 건조 또는 열 경화를 통하여 잉크 수용층을 형성하므로 폴리염화비닐(poly vinylchloride, PVC)과 같이 열에 약한 기재층을 사용하는 경우 기재층의 휨(curl)이 발생되고, 이를 방지하기 위해서는 기재층에 잉크 수용층을 직접 형성하지 않고, 이미 제조된 잉크 수용층을 전사하는 방식을 적용하여야 하는 공정상의 한계가 있다.
이에, 본 발명은 인쇄 특성이 우수한 장식재 및 이의 제조방법을 제공한다.
본 발명에 따른 장식재는 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 방사형 미세 굴곡 구조를 갖는 잉크 수용층을 구비함으로써 잉크 수용층 상에 인쇄된 잉크의 흡수성 및/또는 고착성, 즉 인쇄 적성이 향상되어 선명성이 뛰어나므로 심미적 효과가 우수하고, 제조 시 무용제 타입의 수지 조성물과 수용성 잉크를 사용하여 제조하므로 친환경적인 이점이 있다.
이하, 본 발명을 보다 상세히 설명한다.
장식재
본 발명은 일실시예에서,
기재층; 및
표면에는 한 점을 중심부로 하고 상기 중심부에서 주변부로 뻗어나가는 방사형의 굴곡 구조인 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 잉크 수용층을 포함하는 장식재를 제공한다.
본 발명에 따른 장식재는 기재층 상에 아크릴계 올리고머를 포함하는 조성물의 잉크 수용층을 포함하고, 상기 잉크 수용층은 표면에 특정 형태를 갖는 굴곡 구조를 갖는다. 구체적으로, 상기 장식재는 표면에 미세한 굴곡 구조를 갖는 잉크 수용층을 최외각에 포함하고, 굴곡 구조는 잉크 수용층 표면에 존재하는 임의의 한 점을 중심부로 하며, 상기 중심부에서 주변부로 뻗어나가되 중심부에서 주변부로 갈수록 높이가 낮아지는 방사형의 요철이 랜덤하게 분산된 구조를 갖는다. 예를 들어, 상기 방사형 굴곡 구조는 잉크 수용층 표면의 임의의 한 점을 중심부로 하는 수지상 구조(arborescence structure)나 덴드라이트 구조(dendrite structure)가 랜덤하게 분산된 구조를 포함할 수 있다.

이와 더불어, 상기 방사형 굴곡 구조는 단위 면적에 일정한 빈도, 예컨대 일정한 개수로 형성될 수 있고, 방사형 굴곡 구조의 개수는 단위 면적에 존재하는 방사형 굴곡 구조의 중심부 개수와 동일할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 방사형 굴곡 구조는 잉크 수용층 표면의 단위 면적(1㎜ X 1㎜)당 20 내지 400개 존재할 수 있으며, 구체적으로는 단위 면적(1㎜ X 1㎜)당 20 내지 350개, 20 내지 300개, 20 내지 250개, 20 내지 200개, 20 내지 150개, 100 내지 400개, 100 내지 350개, 150 내지 350개, 250 내지 350개, 200 내지 400개, 30 내지 100개, 25 내지 180개, 25 내지 150개, 25 내지 120개, 40 내지 100개, 30 내지 80개, 20 내지 50개, 30 내지 50개, 40 내지 60개, 80 내지 120개, 140 내지 180개, 30 내지 40개, 105 내지 150개, 100 내지 120개, 150 내지 160개, 또는 70 내지 180개 존재할 수 있다.
예를 들어, 상기 잉크 수용층은 평균 직경이 60 내지 70㎛이고, 표면 조도 (Rz) 2 내지 4.5㎛인 덴드라이트 형상을 단위 면적(1㎜ X 1㎜)당 80 내지 120개일 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 장식재는 상기와 같은 형태와 빈도를 갖는 방사형 굴곡 구조를 최외각층인 잉크 수용층의 표면에 포함함으로써 잉크 수용층의 표면적이 증가하여 잉크에 대한 흡수성 및/또는 고착성, 즉, 인쇄 적성이 향상됨은 물론, 기재층과의 부착성 등을 최적화할 수 있으며, 이를 통하여 장식재의 심미적 효과나 내구성 등의 다양한 물성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
하나의 예로서, 본 발명의 장식재는 잉크 수용층의 표면 거칠기가 최적화되어 잉크 수용층의 표면적이 증가하고, 열 건조 및/또는 열 경화를 통하여 형성된 잉크 수용층과 달리 UV 경화를 통한 표면 친수화로 인하여 잉크 수용층의 잉크 고착성이 향상될 수 있다. 구체적으로, 잉크 수용층에 인쇄된 잉크는 퍼짐없이 액적의 크기가 작고 일정할수록 고착성이 우수할 수 있고, 잉크의 고착성이 높을수록 인쇄된 무늬 및/또는 패턴의 선명성이 높은 특징을 갖는다. 본 발명의 장식재는 인쇄된 장식재 표면을 광학 현미경으로 표면 관찰할 경우 단위 면적(0.1㎠)에 존재하는 잉크 액적의 평균 크기는 50㎛ 이하일 수 있고, 상세하게는 잉크 수용층의 단위 면적(0.1㎠)에 고착된 잉크 액적의 평균 크기가 0.01㎛ 내지 50㎛, 0.01㎛ 내지 45㎛, 0.01㎛ 내지 40㎛, 0.01㎛ 내지 35㎛, 0.01㎛ 내지 30㎛, 0.01㎛ 내지 25㎛, 0.01㎛ 내지 20㎛, 0.01㎛ 내지 15㎛, 0.01㎛ 내지 10㎛, 0.01㎛ 내지 5㎛, 0.05㎛ 내지 50㎛, 0.1㎛ 내지 50㎛, 0.5㎛ 내지 50㎛, 1㎛ 내지 50㎛, 5㎛ 내지 50㎛, 10㎛ 내지 50㎛, 15㎛ 내지 50㎛, 20㎛ 내지 50㎛, 25㎛ 내지 50㎛, 30㎛ 내지 50㎛, 35㎛ 내지 50㎛, 40㎛ 내지 50㎛, 45㎛ 내지 50㎛, 10㎛ 내지 45㎛, 15㎛ 내지 40㎛, 20㎛ 내지 40㎛, 15㎛ 내지 30㎛, 25㎛ 내지 45㎛, 30㎛ 내지 40㎛, 33㎛ 내지 39㎛, 35㎛ 내지 44㎛, 29㎛ 내지 38㎛, 또는 35㎛ 내지 38㎛일 수 있다.
또한, 상기 잉크 액적의 크기는 일정하므로, 액적 크기에 대한 표준 편차는 10 이하일 수 있고, 구체적으로는 0.01 내지 10, 0.05 내지 10, 1 내지 10, 2 내지 10, 0.01 내지 8, 0.01 내지 6, 0.5 내지 8, 1 내지 8, 2 내지 8, 4 내지 9, 3 내지 7, 4 내지 6 또는 4.5 내지 5.5일 수 있다.
이와 더불어, 본 발명에 따른 장식재는 기재층과의 부착성이 우수하여 JIS K 5600-5-6에 따른 크로스-컷(cross-cut) 평가 시, 잉크 수용층의 박리 또는 제거되는 면적은 전체 면적 대비 20% 이하일 수 있고, 구체적으로는 잉크 수용층의 박리 또는 제거되는 면적은 전체 면적 대비 15% 이하, 10% 이하, 5% 이하, 0.1 내지 20%, 0.1 내지 15%, 0.1 내지 10%, 0.1 내지 5% 또는 0.1 내지 2%일 수 있고, 경우에 따라서는 잉크 수용층의 박리가 전혀 발생되지 않아 손상된 면적이 0%에 가까울 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명에 따른 장식재에 구비되는 기재층은 장식재의 베이스가 되는 층으로서, 잉크 수용층과 인쇄층을 지지하고, 외부로부터 전해지는 충격을 흡수하는 역할을 수행한다. 상기 기재층은 100㎛ 내지 1,000㎛의 평균 두께를 가질 수 있고, 구체적으로는 100㎛ 내지 500㎛, 100㎛ 내지 300㎛, 또는 150㎛ 내지 250㎛의 평균 두께를 가질 수 있다.
또한, 상기 기재층으로는 폴리염화비닐(PVC) 기재, 폴리에틸렌 테레프탈레이트(PET) 기재, 글리콜 변성 폴리에틸렌 테레프탈레이트(PETG) 기재, 종이, 목질계 보드, 무기질계 보드 및 합성 수지계 보드로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상을 포함할 수 있다.
아울러, 본 발명에 따른 잉크 수용층의 평균 두께는 인쇄층의 잉크를 충분히 수용하면서 장식재 전체의 두께에는 영향을 미치지 않는 적절한 범위로 조절될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 잉크 수용층은 외부 자극에 찢어지거나 손실되지 않도록 10㎛ 이하의 평균 두께를 가질 수 있고, 보다 구체적으로는 0.1㎛ 내지 10㎛, 0.1㎛ 내지 8㎛, 0.1㎛ 내지 6㎛, 0.1㎛ 내지 4㎛, 0.1㎛ 내지 2㎛, 1㎛ 내지 10㎛, 2㎛ 내지 10㎛, 5㎛ 내지 10㎛, 4㎛ 내지 8㎛, 3㎛ 내지 6㎛, 1㎛ 내지 4㎛, 1㎛ 내지 3㎛, 2㎛ 내지 4㎛, 2.5㎛ 내지 8㎛, 0.1㎛ 내지 3.5㎛, 또는 1.5㎛ 내지 3.5㎛일 수 있다. 본 발명에서 언급되는 잉크 수용층의 평균 두께는 도 2에 나타낸 바와 같이 덴드라이트의 높이를 배제한 잉크 수용층의 평균 두께 (Taver)를 의미할 수 있고, 경우에 따라서는 덴드라이트의 높이가 배제된 잉크 수용층의 평균 두께 (Taver)와 덴드라이트의 평균 최대 높이 (Rmax)의 1/2 값을 포함하는 두께를 의미할 수 있다.

나아가, 본 발명에 따른 장식재는 인쇄층 상에 투명층을 더 포함할 수 있다. 상기 투명층은 장식재의 내스크래치성이나 내마모성 등의 표면 품질을 향상시키고, 내오염성을 개선하기 위하여 최상부에 형성될 수 있다. 상기 투명층의 평균 두께는 0.5mm 내지 5mm일 수 있다. 투명층의 두께가 0.5mm 미만인 경우 장식재의 내스크래치성, 내마모성, 내오염성의 개선이 달성되지 않을 수 있다. 또한, 투명층의 두께가 5mm를 초과하는 경우에는 투명층에 의한 가시광선의 반사 내지는 굴절에 의하여 인쇄층이 표현하고자 하는 무늬의 현출이 저하될 수 있다. 상기 투명층은 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트(PET) 필름, 폴리부틸렌테레프탈레이트(PBT) 필름, 폴리카보네이트 필름, 에틸렌 비닐 아세테이트(EVA) 필름, 폴리에틸렌 필름, 폴리프로필렌 필름, 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트(PMMA) 및 이들의 조합으로 이루어진 군에서 선택된 적어도 하나를 포함하는 조성물로 형성될 수 있다.
장식재의 제조방법
또한, 본 발명은 일실시예에서,
기재층 상에 도포된 아크릴 수지 조성물에 자외선을 조사하여, 표면에 한 점을 중심부로 하고 상기 중심부에서 주변부로 뻗어나가는 방사형 굴곡 구조인 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 잉크 수용층을 형성하는 단계; 및
형성된 잉크 수용층 상에 잉크로 인쇄층을 형성하는 단계를 포함하는 장식재의 제조방법을 제공한다.
본 발명에 따른 장식재의 제조방법은 기재층 상에 아크릴 수지 조성물을 도포하고, 도포된 아크릴 수지 조성물에 UV를 조사하여 잉크 수용층을 형성한 후, 형성된 잉크 수용층 상에 잉크로 인쇄층을 형성하는 단계를 포함한다.
여기서, 잉크 수용층을 형성하는 단계는 UV를 조사하여 수행되는데, 구체적으로는 기재층 상에 도포된 아크릴 수지 조성물에, 불활성 기체 조건 하에서 200㎚ 이하 파장의 광을 조사하여 상기 조성물을 활성화시키는 제1 광 조사 단계; 및 활성화된 조성물에, 공기(air) 조건 하에서 200㎚ 내지 400㎚ 파장의 광을 조사하여 조성물을 경화하여 잉크 수용층을 형성하는 제2 광 조사 단계를 포함하여 아크릴 수지 조성물을 서로 다른 조건 하에서 단계적으로 경화시킴으로써 수행될 수 있다.
이때, 상기 제1 광 조사 단계는 기재층 상에 도포된 아크릴 수지 조성물에 광을 조사하는 첫 번째 단계로서, 조사된 광에 의해 발생된 엑시머(excimer)가 도포된 조성물 및/또는 잉크 수용층의 표면을 수축시켜 주름을 형성함으로써 표면에 입사되는 빛의 산란율을 증가시키는 단계이다. 본 발명은 엑시머를 이용하여 아크릴 수지 조성물 및/또는 잉크 수용층의 표면을 상술된 방사형의 미세 굴곡 구조로 수축시킬 수 있다. 이를 위해 상기 제1 광 조사 단계는 고에너지를 갖는 300㎚ 미만, 구체적으로는 100 내지 200㎚ 또는 150 내지 195㎚의 파장을 광을 사용하여 산소(O2)를 소량 포함하는 질소(N2) 분위기에서 수행될 수 있다. 구체적으로, 제1 광 조사 단계에서 질소(N2)에 포함된 산소(O2)의 농도는 10 내지 3,500ppm일 수 있고, 구체적으로는 10 내지 3,000ppm, 10 내지 2,500ppm, 1,000 내지 2,000ppm, 2,000 내지 3,000ppm, 3,000 내지 3,500ppm, 1,500 내지 3,000ppm, 10 내지 2,000ppm, 10 내지 1,000ppm, 10 내지 500ppm, 100 내지 300ppm, 10 내지 200ppm, 50 내지 150ppm, 80 내지 120ppm, 700 내지 2,500 ppm, 900 내지 1,500 ppm, 100 내지 1,300 ppm 또는 800 내지 1,200ppm일 수 있다.
또한, 제1 광 조사 단계에서 조성물과 광원의 거리는 5~100㎜일 수 있고, 구체적으로는 5~80㎜, 5~60㎜, 5~40㎜, 10~70㎜, 10~50㎜, 10~30㎜, 20~80㎜, 20~60㎜, 20~50㎜, 20~30㎜, 25~75㎜, 50~80㎜, 40~60㎜ 또는 45~55㎜일 수 있다.

하나의 예로서, 상기 제1 광 조사 단계는 아크릴 수지 조성물 내에 엑시머를 형성하기 위하여 조성물에 172±2㎚ 파장을 갖는 광을 100ppm의 산소(O2)를 포함하는 질소(N2) 조건에서 62~68 mJ/㎠의 광량으로 1~2초의 매우 짧은 시간 동안 조사하여 수행될 수 있다.
본 발명은 제1 광 조사 단계 수행 시 가스 조건, 아크릴 수지 조성물과 광원의 거리, 및 광 조사량을 상기 범위로 제어함으로써 잉크 수용층의 표면에 형성되는 랜덤 방사형의 미세 굴곡 구조의 평균 직경, 높이 및/또는 빈도를 용이하게 제어할 수 있다.
나아가, 상기 제2 광 조사 단계는 표면이 수축된 조성물 및/또는 잉크 수용층에 자외선(UV) 에너지를 가하여 경화시키는 단계로서, 200 내지 400㎚의 파장, 구체적으로는 250 내지 380㎚, 280 내지 380㎚, 250 내지 350㎚, 또는 280 내지 320㎚ 파장의 광을 공기(air) 조건에서 조사하여 수행될 수 있다. 본 발명은 제2 광 조사 단계를 공기(air) 조건에서 200~400nm 파장의 광을 이용함으로써 아크릴 수지 조성물 및/또는 잉크 수용층의 경화율을 향상시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 산소 분자(O2)의 오존(O3) 전환을 통해 잉크 수용층의 표면을 세정하는 효과를 유도할 수 있다. 이때, 경화된 조성물 및/또는 잉크 수용층의 표면 온도는 20 내지 90℃, 구체적으로는 20 내지 80℃ 또는 30 내지 70℃일 수 있다.
하나의 예로서, 상기 제2 광 조사 단계는 조성물 및/또는 잉크 수용층에 300±5㎚ 파장을 갖는 광을 공기 조건에서 20~800 mJ/㎠의 광량으로 1~2초의 매우 짧은 시간 동안 조사하여 수행될 수 있고, 이때 아크릴 수지 조성물 및/또는 잉크 수용층과 광원 사이의 거리는 0.5 내지 10㎜일 수 있다.
본 발명에서 조사되는 광은 각 단계에서 요구되는 파장의 광을 조사할 수 있는 공지된 방법에 따라 조사될 수 있다. 예를 들어, UV 영역인 400㎚ 이하의 파장을 갖는 광은 수은 또는 메탈 할라이드 램프 등을 이용하여 조사될 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명에서 광이 조사되는 시간은 1~2초의 매우 짧은 시간일 수 있고, 이러한 광 조사 시간은 광 조사 시 아크릴 수지 조성물이 이동하는 속도, 예컨대 기재 상에 코팅된 아크릴 수지 조성물의 이동 속도에 의해 제어될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 아크릴 수지 조성물 및/또는 상기 조성물이 코팅된 기재의 이동 속도는 1 내지 50 m/min일 수 있고, 구체적으로는 5 내지 40 m/min, 10 내지 40 m/min, 20 내지 40 m/min, 30 내지 40 m/min, 15 내지 25 m/min, 5 내지 15 m/min, 15 내지 20 m/min, 35 내지 40 m/min 또는 18 내지 22 m/min일 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 장식재의 제조방법은 상술된 바와 같이 기재층 상에 도포된 아크릴 수지 조성물에 UV를 조사함으로써 잉크 수용층을 형성할 수 있으므로 종래 열 건조 및/또는 열 경화를 통해 잉크 수용층을 형성할 경우 기재층의 열 수축율에 따른 휨(curl)이 발생하는 것을 방지할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 기재층에 잉크 수용층을 직접 형성할 수 있으므로 공정의 단순화가 가능한 이점이 있다.
하나의 예로서, 본 발명에 따른 장식재의 제조방법을 통하여 제조된 장식재는 구조 안정성 평가 시, 22±2℃ 온도 조건에서 1T 이하의 휨(curl)을 나타낼 수 있고, 구체적으로는 0.9T 이하, 0.9T 이하, 0.8T 이하, 0.7T 이하, 0.6T 이하, 또는 0.5T 이하의 컬링 발생할 수 있으며, 경우에 따라서는 컬링이 전혀 발생하지 않아 0T의 컬링을 나타낼 수 있다.
또한, 상기 잉크 수용층은 UV 조사를 통하여 형성되므로 표면에 수산기(OH기)와 같은 친수성 관능기가 치환되고 표면 에너지가 증가하므로 수용성 잉크 및/또는 수성 잉크로 인쇄층을 형성하는 경우 수용성 잉크 및/또는 수성 잉크에 대한 고착력(fixing force)이 향상되는 효과를 나타낼 수 있다.
그 예로서, 본 발명에 따른 잉크 수용층은 친수성 관능기가 치환되어 평균 정적 물 접촉각(static water contact angle) 측정하면 5° 내지 60°일 수 있고, 구체적으로는 5° 내지 55°, 5° 내지 50°, 5° 내지 45°, 5° 내지 40°, 5° 내지 35°, 5° 내지 30°, 5° 내지 25°, 5° 내지 20°, 5° 내지 15°, 5° 내지 10°, 10° 내지 60°, 20° 내지 60°, 30° 내지 60°, 35° 내지 60°, 45° 내지 60°, 50° 내지 60°, 15° 내지 45°, 20° 내지 40°, 25° 내지 55°, 35° 내지 55°, 30° 내지 50°, 40° 내지 50°, 37° 내지 47°, 42° 내지 54°, 또는 42° 내지 48°일 수 있다.
다른 하나의 예로서, 상기 잉크 수용층은 수용성 잉크 및/또는 수성 잉크로 인쇄 후 표면을 광학 현미경으로 표면 관찰할 경우 단위 면적(0.1㎠)에 고착된 잉크 액적의 평균 크기는 50㎛ 이하이고, 액적 크기에 대한 표준 편차는 10 이하일 수 있다.
한편, 상기 아크릴 수지 조성물은 우레탄 아크릴계 올리고머, 친수성 관능기를 갖는 아크릴계 모노머, 다관능성 아크릴계 모노머 및 개시제를 포함할 수 있다.
구체적으로, 상기 우레탄 아크릴계 올리고머는 우레탄기와 함께 중합성 관능기로서 아크릴기를 포함하는 올리고머를 의미하는데, 광 개시제의 개시반응에 의한 라디칼 중합 반응이 빠르게 일어나고, 탄성 및 강인성이 우수한 도막을 제조하며, 폴리염화비닐(PVC) 등으로 구성되는 기재층과의 밀착력이 우수한 이점이 있다. 이러한 우레탄 아크릴레이트는 폴리이소시아네이트, 폴리올, 하이드록시 (hydroxy)기를 가진 아크릴레이트 화합물로 합성하는데, 이때 폴리이소시아네이트로는 5-이소시아네이트-1-(이소시아네이트메틸)-1,3,3-트리메틸씨클로헥산, 4,4-디씨클로헥실메탄디이소시아네이트, 1,6-디이소시아네이트헥산, 1,6-디이소시아네이트헥산 유도체 등을 사용할 수 있고, 폴리올로는 폴리에스테르폴리올, 폴리에테르폴리올, 폴리카보네이트폴리올 등을 사용할 수 있으며, 하이드록시기를 가진 아크릴레이트 화합물로는 2-하이드록시에틸아크릴레이트, 2-하이드록시프로필아크릴레이트 등을 사용할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 우레탄 아크릴레이트는 중합 가능한 관능기를 2 이상 포함하는 다관능성 올리고머일 수 있으며, 구체적으로는 2 관능성 올리고머, 3 관능성 올리고머, 4 관능성 올리고머 및 6 관능성 올리고머 중 1종 이상을 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 우레탄 아크릴계 올리고머의 중량평균 분자량은 100 내지 10,000일 수 있고, 보다 구체적으로는 500 내지 5,000, 1,000 내지 3,000 또는 1,500 내지 2,000일 수 있다. 본 발명은 우레탄 아크릴계 올리고머의 중량평균 분자량을 상기 범위로 조절함으로써 장식재의 내구성을 보다 향상시킬 수 있다.
또한, 친수성 관능기를 갖는 아크릴계 모노머는 친수성 관능기로서 수산기(-OH기), 카르복실기(-COOH기), 아민기(-NH2기) 등을 함유하는 아크릴계 모노머일 수 있다. 구체적으로, 친수성 관능기를 갖는 아크릴계 모노머로는 2-하이드록시에틸(메트)아크릴레이트, 하이드록시프로필(메트)아크릴레이트, 하이드록시부틸(메트)아크릴레이트, 하이드록시헥실(메트)아크릴레이트, 하이드록시옥틸(메트)아크릴레이트, 하이드록시에틸렌글리콜(메트)아크릴레이트 또는 하이드록시프로필렌글리콜(메트)아크릴레이트, 아크릴산, 메타크릴산, (메트)아크릴로일옥시아세트산, (메트)아크릴로일옥시프로필산, (메트)아크릴로일옥시부틸산, 아크릴산 이중체, 이타콘산,말레산 및 카프로락톤 변성 하이드록시아크릴레이트(caprolactone modified hydroxyl acrylate, CHA)로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 친수성 관능기를 갖는 아크릴계 모노머는 하이드록시에틸메타크릴레이트 및 하이드록시프로필아크릴레이트를 포함할 수 있다.
이와 더불어, 상기 아크릴 수지 조성물은 친수성 관능기를 갖는 아크릴계 모노머를 우레탄 아크릴계 올리고머 100 중량부에 대하여, 30 내지 90 중량부, 구체적으로는 우레탄 아크릴계 올리고머 100 중량부에 대하여, 30 내지 80 중량부, 30 내지 70 중량부, 30 내지 60 중량부, 30 내지 50 중량부, 30 내지 40 중량부, 45 내지 90 중량부, 50 내지 90 중량부, 60 내지 90 중량부, 70 내지 90 중량부, 80 내지 90 중량부, 45 내지 80 중량부, 50 내지 75 중량부, 65 내지 90 중량부, 60 내지 80 중량부, 67 내지 83 중량부, 59 내지 73 중량부, 또는 68 내지 72 중량부로 포함할 수 있다.
하나의 예로서, 상기 친수성 관능기를 갖는 아크릴계 모노머는 하이드록시에틸(메트)아크릴레이트 및 하이드록시프로필아크릴레이트를 포함하는 경우 우레탄 아크릴계 올리고머 100 중량부에 대하여 각각 30 중량부 및 40 중량부로 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 다관능성 아크릴계 모노머는 중합성 관능기를 2 이상 포함하는 모노머로서, 이러한 다관능성 아크릴계 모노머로는 1,6-헥산디올디아크릴레이트, 테트라에틸렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트, 트리프로필렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트, 트리에틸렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트, 디프로필렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트, 펜타에리트리톨 트리아크릴레이트, 트리메틸올프로판에톡시트리아크릴레이트 및 트리메틸프로판 트리아크릴레이트로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상을 들 수 있다. 예를 들어, 본 발명에 따른 아크릴 수지 조성물은 다관능성 아크릴계 모노머로서 테트라에틸렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트, 트리프로필렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트 및 트리메틸프로판 트리아크릴레이트를 포함할 수 있다.
아울러, 상기 아크릴 수지 조성물은 다관능성 아크릴계 모노머를 우레탄 아크릴계 올리고머 100 중량부에 대하여 50 내지 150 중량부를 포함할 수 있고, 구체적으로는 아크릴계 올리고머 100 중량부에 대하여 50 내지 140 중량부, 50 내지 130 중량부, 50 내지 120 중량부, 50 내지 110 중량부, 50 내지 100 중량부, 50 내지 90 중량부, 50 내지 80 중량부, 75 내지 150 중량부, 90 내지 150 중량부, 100 내지 150 중량부, 120 내지 150 중량부, 130 내지 150 중량부, 75 내지 95 중량부, 90 내지 105 중량부, 105 내지 120 중량부, 115 내지 130 중량부, 120 내지 140 중량부, 135 내지 150 중량부, 70 내지 110 중량부, 85 내지 120 중량부, 80 내지 100 중량부, 90 내지 100 중량부, 92 내지 98 중량부, 81 내지 98 중량부, 또는 92 내지 109 중량부로 다관능성 아크릴계 모노머를 포함할 수 있다.
하나의 예로서, 상기 다관능성 아크릴계 관능기를 갖는 아크릴계 모노머는 다관능성 아크릴계 모노머로서 테트라에틸렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트, 트리프로필렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트 및 트리메틸프로판 트리아크릴레이트를 포함하는 경우 우레탄 아크릴계 올리고머 100 중량부에 대하여 각각 40 중량부, 40 중량부 및 10 중량부로 포함할 수 있다.
나아가, 본 발명에 따른 아크릴 수지 조성물은 잉크 수용층 표면에 형성된 덴드라이트 형상의 씨드(seed) 역할을 수행함과 동시에 장식재의 내구성을 향상시키기 위하여 경도가 높은 필러를 더 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 필러로는 아크릴 수지 조성물의 경화 후 잉크 액적과의 고착력 및/또는 기재층과의 부착력에 영향을 미치지 않으면서 표면경도를 향상시킬 수 있는 것을 사용할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 상기 필러로서 콜로이달 실리카, 알루미나, 글래스 비드, 유기물 비드(고분자 입자 등) 등을 사용할 수 있으며, 이들의 평균 입도는 1㎛ 내지 10㎛, 또는 3㎛ 내지 7㎛일 수 있다.
또한, 상기 필러는 잉크 수용층의 인쇄 적성 및 기재층과의 부착력을 저해하지 않도록 조성물 100 중량부에 대하여 15 중량부 이하로 포함될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 필러는 조성물 100 중량부에 대하여 12 중량부 이하를 포함할 수 있고, 보다 구체적으로 상기 필러의 함량은 상한가가 12 중량부 이하, 11 중량부 이하, 10 중량부 이하, 8 중량부 이하, 6 중량부 이하 또는 5 중량부 이하일 수 있고, 하한가가 0.01 중량부 이상, 0.05 중량부 이상, 0.1 중량부 이상, 0.5 중량부 이상, 또는 1 중량부 이상일 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 필러는 0.1 내지 15 중량부, 0.1 내지 14 중량부, 0.1 내지 13 중량부, 0.1 내지 12 중량부, 0.5 내지 11 중량부, 1 내지 5 중량부, 3 내지 7 중량부, 5 내지 12 중량부, 7 내지 14 중량부, 3 중량부 내지 11 중량부, 6 내지 12 중량부, 9 내지 14 중량부, 8 내지 12 중량부, 또는 9 내지 11 중량부로 포함될 수 있다.
본 발명은 필러의 평균 입도 및 함량을 상기 범위로 제어함으로써 아크릴 수지 조성물 내의 과도한 필러로 인해 점도가 높아져 작업성이 저하되는 것을 방지할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 잉크 수용층의 크랙 발생을 방지하며, 잉크 수용층과 다른 층간의 접착력을 증가시켜 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
아울러, 본 발명에서 사용되는 아크릴 수지 조성물은 용제를 포함하지 않을 수 있고, 용제를 포함하지 않아도 조성물의 점도가 낮아 잉크 수용층 형성 시 작업성이 우수할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 상기 아크릴 수지 조성물의 점도는 25℃에서 500 cps 이하, 구체적으로는 400 cps 이하, 300 cps 이하, 250 cps 이하, 200 cps 이하, 100 내지 500 cps, 100 내지 400 cps, 100 내지 300 cps, 100 내지 250 cps, 100 내지 400 cps, 150 내지 350 cps, 200 내지 350 cps, 250 내지 350 cps 또는 280 내지 300 cps의 낮은 점도를 가질 수 있으며, 잉크 수용층의 내구성 향상을 위하여 필러를 일부 포함하여도 500 cps 이하의 낮은 점도를 나타낼 수 있다. 본 발명에 따른 아크릴 수지 조성물은 500 cps 이하의 낮은 점도를 가져 용제를 혼합하지 않고도 작업성이 용이하므로, 환경 친화적인 이점이 있다.
이와 더불어, 기재 상에 아크릴 수지 조성물을 도포하는 방법은 기술분야에서 공지된 방법에 의해 수행될 수 있으며, 예를 들어, 메이어(Mayer), 디-바(D-bar), 고무롤(rubber roll), G/V 롤(G/V roll), 에어나이프(air knife), 슬롯다이(slot die) 등을 이용하여 수행될 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명에 따른 장식재의 제조방법에 있어서, 상기 인쇄층을 형성하는 단계는 당업계에서 통상적으로 사용되는 수용성 잉크 및/또는 수성 잉크를 이용하여 잉크 수용층 상에 인쇄층을 인쇄하는 단계로서, 잉크젯 인쇄, 그라비어 인쇄, 스크린 인쇄, 오프셋 인쇄, 로터리 인쇄, 플렉소 인쇄 또는 이들을 조합한 인쇄법에 의해 수행될 수 있다.
이때, 상기 인쇄하는 단계는 잉크 수용층의 잉크 고착력이 우수하므로 스마트 공장(smart factory)에 적용되는 인쇄 공정인 고속 단일 패스 인쇄가 가능하므로 50 m/min 내지 150 m/min의 인쇄 속도로 수행될 수 있다. 구체적으로, 상기 인쇄하는 단계는 50 m/min 내지 140 m/min, 50 m/min 내지 120 m/min, 50 m/min 내지 110 m/min, 50 m/min 내지 100 m/min, 50 m/min 내지 80 m/min, 50 m/min 내지 60 m/min, 70 m/min 내지 150 m/min, 90 m/min 내지 150 m/min, 110 m/min 내지 150 m/min, 130 m/min 내지 150 m/min, 70 m/min 내지 130 m/min, 90 m/min 내지 110 m/min, 80 m/min 내지 100 m/min, 110 m/min 내지 140 m/min, 90 m/min 내지 130 m/min, 65 m/min 내지 85 m/min, 또는 95 m/min 내지 125 m/min의 인쇄 속도로 수행될 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명에 따른 장식재의 제조방법은 인쇄층을 형성하는 단계 이후에 인쇄층 상에 투명층을 형성하는 단계를 더 포함할 수 있다. 상기 투명층은 장식재의 내스크래치성이나 내마모성 등의 표면 품질을 향상시키고, 내오염성을 개선하는 효과를 장식재에 부여할 수 있다. 상기 투명층은 100~200℃의 온도 범위에서 수행되는 열 라미네이션에 의해 인쇄층 상에 형성될 수 있으나 이에 제한되는 것은 아니다.
이하, 본 발명을 실시예 및 실험예에 의해 보다 상세히 설명한다.
단, 하기 실시예 및 실험예는 본 발명을 예시하는 것일 뿐, 본 발명의 내용이 하기 실시예 및 실험예에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
실시예 1.
우레탄 메타아크릴레이트계 올리고머(분자량: 2,200) 100 중량부, 하이드록시프로필렌 아크릴레이트 30 중량부, 하이드록시에틸렌 아크릴레이트 30 중량부, 트리프로필글리콜 디아크릴레이트 40 중량부, 테트라에틸글리콜 디아크릴레이트 40 중량부 및 트리메틸프로판 트리아크릴레이트 10 중량부를 혼합하고, 광 개시제로서 이가큐어-184(IRG-184)를 7 중량부 첨가하였다. 그 후, 평균 크기가 5±0.5㎛인 실리카 10 중량부를 혼합하여 아크릴 수지 조성물을 얻었다.
폴리염화비닐(PVC)로 구성되고, 평균 두께가 0.2㎜인 카렌더링 가공된 백색 시트를 기재층으로서 준비하고, 상기 시트 상부에 앞서 제조된 아크릴 수지 조성물을 3㎛의 두께로 도포하였다. 그런 다음, 산소(O2) 가스를 1,000 ppm 함유하는 질소(N2) 가스 분위기 하에서, 조성물에 172±0.5 ㎚의 광을 65±1 mJ/㎠의 광량으로 조성물로부터 50±1㎝의 거리에서 광 조사(제1 광 조사)하였다. 그 후, 공기 조건 하에서, 조성물로부터 100±1㎝의 거리에서 1차적으로 광 조사된 조성물에 300±1 ㎚의 광을 1,200 mJ/㎠의 광량으로 광 조사(제2 광 조사)하여 평균 두께가 3㎛의 잉크 수용층을 형성하였다. 흑색, 적색, 청색, 황색 및 녹색을 나타내는 4종의 수용성 잉크를 이용하여 잉크젯 인쇄 방식으로 잉크 수용층 상에 인쇄층(평균 두께: 1㎛)을 형성함으로써 장식재를 제조하였다.
실시예 2.
인쇄층 상에 폴리에틸렌테리프탈레이트 필름(평균 두께: 30㎛)을 150±2℃에서 열 라미네이션하여 투명층을 형성하는 것을 제외하고 상기 실시예 1과 동일한 방법으로 수행하여 장식재를 제조하였다.
비교예 1.
수용성 잉크를 이용하여 잉크젯 인쇄 방식으로 일반 인쇄 종이에 인쇄층을 형성하였다.
비교예 2.
폴리염화비닐(PVC)로 구성되고, 평균 두께가 0.2㎜인 카렌더링 가공된 백색 시트를 기재층으로서 준비하고, 수용성 잉크를 이용하여 잉크젯 인쇄 방식으로 준비된 기재층에 인쇄층을 형성함으로써 장식재를 제조하였다.
비교예 3.
폴리염화비닐(PVC)로 구성되고, 평균 두께가 0.2㎜인 카렌더링 가공된 백색 시트를 기재층으로서 준비하고, 상기 시트 상부에 실시예 1에서 제조된 아크릴 수지 조성물을 3㎛의 두께로 도포하였다. 그런 다음, 공기 조건 하에서, 도포된 아크릴 수지 조성물에 300±1 ㎚의 광을 1,200 mJ/㎠의 광량으로 조성물로부터 100±1㎝의 거리에서 광 조사하여 평균 두께가 3㎛의 잉크 수용층을 형성하였다. 수용성 잉크를 이용하여 잉크젯 인쇄 방식으로 잉크 수용층 상에 인쇄층(평균 두께: 1㎛)을 형성함으로써 장식재를 제조하였다.
비교예 4.
제 1광을 조사 시 산소(O2) 가스를 4,000 ppm 함유하는 질소(N2) 가스 분위기 하에서, 조성물에 172±0.5 ㎚의 광을 45±1 mJ/㎠의 광량으로 조성물로부터 50±1㎝의 거리에서 광 조사(제1 광 조사)한 것을 제외하고는, 상기 실시예 1과 동일한 방법으로 수행하여 장식재를 제조하였다.
실험예 1
본 발명에 따른 장식재의 잉크 수용층의 표면 구조를 확인하기 위하여 실시예 1과 비교예 3 및 4에서 제조된 장식재를 대상으로 주사 전자현미경(SEM) 분석을 수행하였으며, 그 결과는 도 2 내지 4에 나타내었다.
도 2 및 3을 살펴보면, 본 발명에 따른 실시예 1의 장식재는 표면에 일정 크기와 빈도로 방사형 굴곡 구조를 포함하는 것으로 나타났으며, 상기 방사형 굴곡 구조는 중심부에서 주변부로 갈수록 높이가 낮아지는 구조를 갖는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한, 실시예 1의 장식재를 살펴보면, 방사형 굴곡 구조의 평균 크기는 50±2 ㎛이고, 중심부의 높이는 4±1 ㎛이며, 단위 면적(1㎜ X 1㎜)당 140 내지 165개의 덴드라이트 형상을 포함하는 것으로 나타났다.
이와 비교하여, 제1 광 조사 단계를 수행하지 않은 비교예 3의 장식재의 잉크 수용층은 표면에 미세 굴곡 구조를 갖지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 도 4를 살펴보면, 제1 광 조사 단계를 수행하였으나 제1 광 조사 시 질소(N2) 가스 내 산소(O2) 가스의 농도가 현저히 높고, 광량이 낮은 비교예 4의 장식재는 표면에 굴곡 구조를 포함하나 덴드라이트 크기가 불규칙한 크기를 가지므로, 미세 굴곡 구조 사이에 잉크가 고이게 되고, 이에 따라 잉크가 번지는 것을 확인하였다.
이러한 결과로부터, 200 ㎚ 미만 파장의 광을 조사하는 제1 광 조사 단계는 엑시머를 발생시키고, 발생된 엑시머는 단파장 UV를 발생시켜 조성물 및/또는 잉크 수용층의 표면 경화를 빠르게 촉진시키며, 이에 따라 조성물 및/또는 잉크 수용층의 표면에는 수축이 발생되어 덴드라이트 형상의 방사형 미세 굴곡 구조가 형성됨을 알 수 있다. 또한, 상기 제1 광 조사 단계의 수행 조건, 특히 가스 조건을 특정 조건으로 조절함으로써 미세 굴곡 구조의 형태 및 빈도를 제어할 수 있음을 알 수 있다.
실험예 2.
본 발명에 따른 장식재의 인쇄 적성, 인쇄 선명성, 기재층과의 부착력 및 휨 정도를 평가하기 위하여 실시예 1 및 2와 비교예 1 내지 4에서 제조된 장식재를 대상으로 다음과 실험을 수행하였으며, 그 결과는 하기 표 1과 도 5 및 6에 나타내었다:
가) 표면 조도 평가
실시예 1 및 2와 비교예 2 내지 4와 같이 폴리염화비닐(PVC)로 구성되는 백색 시트 상에 잉크 수용층을 각각 형성하여 시편을 준비하고, 비교예 1의 일반 인쇄 종이를 별도로 준비한 다음, 잉크 수용층이 형성된 각 시편과 일반 인쇄 종이를 대상으로, ISO 4287 기준에 따른 표면 조도(Rz)를 측정하였다.
나) 인쇄 선명성 평가
형광등 아래 밝은 장소에서 장식재를 장식재를 평가자의 눈 앞 30cm 에 위치하여 인쇄된 문양의 선명도를 육안으로 평가하였다. 이때, 평가 기준은 다음과 같다:
- ○: 인쇄된 문양의 전체 면적(100%)에 대하여, 잉크가 고착되지 않은 영역 또는 여백의 면적이 5% 이하
- △: 인쇄된 문양의 전체 면적(100%)에 대하여, 잉크가 고착되지 않은 영역 또는 여백의 면적이 5% 초과 20% 이하
- X: 인쇄된 문양의 전체 면적(100%)에 대하여, 잉크가 고착되지 않은 영역 또는 여백의 면적이 20% 초과.
다) 인쇄 적성 평가
장식재 표면을 광학 현미경으로 표면을 관찰하여 단위 면적(0.1㎠)에 존재하는 잉크 액적들 크기를 측정하였으며, 측정된 크기들의 평균값과 표준편차를 도출하였다.
라) 정적 물 접촉각 평가
접촉각 측정기(모델명: SmartDrop, 제조사: Femtofab Co. Ltd)를 이용하여 정적 물 접촉각(static water contact angle, static WCA)을 측정하였다. 이때, 각 측정은 매 측정 시마다 10㎕의 증류수 한 방울을 표면에 떨어뜨려 수행하였으며, 3회씩 반복 수행하여 그 평균값을 도출하였다.
마) 기재층과의 부착력 평가
JIS K 5600-5-6에 따라 가로 및 세로로 각각 6줄이 교차하게 컷팅(cross-cut)하고, 규정 테이프(JIS Z 1522)를 표면에 부착한 후 테이프의 한쪽을 90˚ 각도로 강하게 당겨 탈착하였으며, 탈착 후 표면을 상태를 육안으로 확인하여 기재층과의 부착력을 평가하였다. 이때, 평가 기준은 다음과 같다:
- ○: 교차 컷팅된 전체 면적(100%)에 대하여 박리되거나 일부 탈착되어 손상된 면적이 5% 미만
- △: 교차 컷팅된 전체 면적(100%)에 대하여 박리되거나 일부 탈착되어 손상된 면적이 5% 이상 15% 미만
- X: 교차 컷팅된 전체 면적(100%)에 대하여 박리되거나 일부 탈착되어 손상된 면적이 15% 이상.

상기 표 1과 도 5 및 6에 나타낸 바와 같이 본 발명에 따른 장식재는 덴드라이트 형상의 미세 굴곡 구조를 표면에 갖는 잉크 수용층을 기재층과 인쇄층 사이에 구비하여 인쇄 적성 및 선명성이 우수하고, 기재층과의 부착력이 우수한 것을 알 수 있다.
구체적으로, 표 1을 살펴보면, 표면에 덴드라이트 형상의 미세 굴곡 구조를 갖는 잉크 수용층을 구비하는 실시예 1 및 2의 장식재는 3~8㎛의 평균 표면 조도(Rz)를 갖고, 정적 물 접촉각이 평균 40~50˚인 것으로 나타났다. 이는 잉크 수용층 형성 시 서로 다른 파장 조건을 갖는 광을 단계적으로 조사함으로써 잉크 수용층 표면에 덴드라이트 형상의 미세 굴곡 구조가 유도되어 특정 범위의 표면 거칠기가 구현됨과 동시에 표면 에너지가 증가되고 친수성 관능기가 치환되어 정적 물 접촉각이 낮아짐을 의미한다.
또한, 실시예 1 및 2의 장식재는 32~38㎛의 평균 액적 크기와 4~6의 표준편차를 갖는 반면, 비교예 1~4의 장식재는 잉크 액적이 번지거나 균일 분포하지 않아 50㎛의 평균 액적 크기와 10 이상의 표준편차를 갖는 것으로 나타났으며, 이에 따른 인쇄 선명도 차이는 도 6에 나타낸 바와 같이 명확하게 나타났다.
이러한 결과로부터 조성물의 광 경화 시 특정 범위의 단파장 광을 서로 다른 조건 하에서 단계적으로 조사하여 경화하는 경우 잉크 수용층 표면에 형성되는 덴드라이트 형상의 방사형 굴곡 구조의 평균 크기, 중심부의 높이 및 단위 면적당 빈도 등이 제어되어 장식재의 물성, 예컨대, 인쇄 선명성, 기재층과의 부착력 등이 조절됨을 알 수 있다.

본 발명에 따른 장식재는 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 방사형 미세 굴곡 구조를 갖는 잉크 수용층을 구비함으로써 잉크 수용층 상에 인쇄된 잉크의 흡수성 및/또는 고착성, 즉 인쇄 적성이 향상되어 선명성이 뛰어나므로 심미적 효과가 우수하므로, 장식재로서 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

Claims (15)

  1. 기재층, 잉크 수용층 및 인쇄층을 포함하고;
    상기 잉크 수용층은 표면에 한 점을 중심부로 하고 상기 중심부에서 주변부로 뻗어나가는 방사형 굴곡 구조인 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 아크릴 수지 조성물의 잉크 수용층을 포함하며; 및
    광학 현미경으로 표면 관찰 시 단위 면적(0.1㎠)에 존재하는 잉크 액적의 평균 크기는 50㎛ 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 장식재.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 방사형 굴곡 구조는 표면의 단위 면적 (1㎜ X 1㎜)당 20 내지 400개 존재하는 장식재.
  3. 제1항에 있어서,
    방사형 굴곡 구조의 평균 직경은 5㎛ 내지 500㎛인 장식재.
  4. 제1항에 있어서,
    잉크 수용층의 표면 조도(Rz)는 평균 0.5㎛ 내지 10㎛인 장식재.
  5. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 잉크 수용층은 평균 정적 물 접촉각(static water contact angle)이 5° 내지 60°인 장식재.
  6. 제1항에 있어서,
    인쇄층 상에 투명층을 더 포함하는 장식재.
  7. 기재층 상에 도포된 아크릴 수지 조성물에 자외선을 조사하여, 표면에 한 점을 중심부로 하고 상기 중심부에서 주변부로 뻗어나가는 방사형 굴곡 구조인 덴드라이트 형상을 갖는 잉크 수용층을 형성하는 단계; 및
    형성된 잉크 수용층 상에 잉크로 인쇄층을 형성하는 단계를 포함하고,
    인쇄층을 형성하는 단계는 50 m/min 내지 150 m/min의 인쇄 속도로 수행되는 장식재의 제조방법.
  8. 제7항에 있어서,
    광 조사 단계는,
    기재층 상에 도포된 아크릴 수지 조성물에, 불활성 기체 조건 하에서 200㎚ 이하 파장의 광을 조사하여 상기 조성물을 활성화시키는 제1 광 조사 단계; 및
    활성화된 조성물에, 공기(air) 조건 하에서 200㎚ 내지 400㎚ 파장의 광을 조사하여 조성물을 경화하여 잉크 수용층을 형성하는 제2 광 조사 단계를 포함하는 장식재의 제조방법.
  9. 제8항에 있어서,
    제1 광 조사 단계는 1 mJ/㎠ 내지 150 mJ/㎠의 광 조사량으로 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 장식재의 제조방법.
  10. 제8항에 있어서,
    제1 광 단계는, 산소(O2)의 농도가 10 ppm 내지 3,500 ppm인 질소(N2) 조건 하에서 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 장식재의 제조방법.
  11. 제7항에 있어서,
    아크릴 수지 조성물은,
    우레탄(메트)아크릴계 올리고머 100 중량부;
    친수성 관능기를 갖는 아크릴계 모노머 30 내지 90 중량부; 및
    다관능성 아크릴계 모노머 50 내지 150 중량부를 포함하는 장식재의 제조방법.
  12. 제8항에 있어서,
    아크릴 수지 조성물은 실리카, 알루미나, 글래스 비드 및 유기물 비드로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상의 필러를 더 포함하는 장식재의 제조방법.
  13. 제12항에 있어서,
    필러의 함량은 아크릴 수지 조성물 100 중량부에 대하여 15 중량부 이하인 장식재의 제조방법.
  14. 제7항에 있어서,
    아크릴 수지 조성물의 점도는 500 cps 이하인 장식재의 제조방법.
  15. 제7항에 있어서,
    인쇄층을 형성하는 단계 이후에, 인쇄층 상에 투명층을 형성하는 단계를 더 포함하는 장식재의 제조방법.
