[4]前記側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体の全単量体単位に対する前記式(I)で表される構成単位の含有量が0.05~10モル%である、[1]~[3]のいずれかに記載の側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体;

を提供することにより解決される。
日本電子株式会社製核磁気共鳴装置「LAMBDA 500」を用い、側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体の1H-NMRを室温で測定し、変性量(側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体中の全単量体単位に対する上記式(I)で表される繰り返し単位の含有量)を算出した。
株式会社堀場製作所製レーザー回折装置「LA-950V2」を用い、以下の実施例または比較例で得られたビニルアルコール系重合体をメタノールに分散させた状態で体積平均粒子径を測定した。
以下の実施例又は比較例で得られたビニルアルコール系重合体を、150℃の熱風乾燥機内で6時間熱処理した。その後、室温(25℃)でイオン交換水100gに対してビニルアルコール系重合体2gを添加した後、得られた混合物を撹拌(150rpm)しながら10℃/minにて100℃まで昇温させた。ビニルアルコール系重合体が完全に溶解するまで100℃で撹拌を続けた。ビニルアルコール系重合体が完全に溶解した後、加熱を停止し、室温(25℃)まで自然冷却した。このときのビニルアルコール系重合体からなる粉末を以下の基準で評価した。
A:100℃に昇温後60分以内に完全に溶解し、冷却してから1日経過後も溶解した状態が維持された。
B:100℃に昇温後120分以内に完全に溶解し、冷却してから1日経過後も溶解した状態が維持された。
C:100℃に昇温後120分経過しても完全には溶解しなかった。
以下の実施例又は比較例で得られたビニルアルコール系重合体を含む水溶液(濃度5質量%)に、光開始剤として2-ヒドロキシ-4’-(2-ヒドロキシエトキシ)-2-メチルプロピオフェノンを、導入したオレフィンの官能基量とモル等量になるように添加し溶解させ、塗工液を調製した。当該塗工液を、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルムの端を折り曲げて作製した15cm×15cmの型枠に流延し、室温大気圧下で溶媒を十分に揮発させ、厚さ約100μmのフィルムを得た。ここに120J/cm2の強度でUV光を照射し、評価用フィルムを作製した。得られた評価用フィルムを沸騰水中に1時間浸漬し、水から取り出して、40℃で12時間真空乾燥した後に質量(W1)を測定した。得られた質量(W1)と浸漬前の質量(W2)とから、以下の式に従って煮沸条件下における溶出率を算出した。そして、この溶出率を架橋後の耐水性の指標とした。なお、水中に浸漬中に評価用フィルムが溶解した場合には「測定不能」と評価した(表1中「-」と記載)。

攪拌機、還流冷却管、窒素導入管及び反応基質の添加口を備えた反応器に、市販のポリビニルアルコール(クラレアメリカインコーポレイテッド製、Elvanol(登録商標) 71-30、けん化度99.5モル%、粘度平均重合度1700)100質量部とジメチルスルホキシド400質量部を添加し、濃度20質量%の溶液を調製した。ここに3,3-ジメチルペンテン酸メチル65質量部と、触媒としてテトラメチルアンモニウムメチルカーボネート0.4質量部を添加し、窒素気流下で100℃に昇温し、130分間加熱撹拌した。その後、溶液をメタノールに滴下してポリマーを単離し、40℃で終夜真空乾燥することにより、目的の側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体を得た。得られた側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体を粉砕した後、篩(106μm~300μm)を用いて分級された粒子を得た。側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体の変性量、平均粒子径の分析結果及び物性評価結果を表1に示す。

市販のポリビニルアルコール(クラレアメリカインコーポレイテッド製、Elvanol(登録商標) 71-30、けん化度99.5モル%、粘度平均重合度1700)100質量部とジメチルスルホキシド400質量部を添加し、濃度20質量%の溶液を調製した。溶液をメタノールに滴下してポリマーを単離し、40℃で終夜真空乾燥した。このポリビニルアルコールを粉砕した後、篩(600μm~1000μm)を用いて分級された粒子を得た。ポリビニルアルコールの平均粒子径の分析結果及び物性評価結果を表1に示す。
攪拌機、還流冷却管、窒素導入管及び反応基質の添加口を備えた反応器に、市販のポリビニルアルコール(クラレアメリカインコーポレイテッド製、Elvanol(登録商標) 71-30、けん化度99.5モル%、粘度平均重合度1700)100質量部とジメチルスルホキシド400質量部を添加し、濃度20質量%の溶液を調製した。ここにメタクリル酸メチル45.6質量部と、触媒としてテトラメチルアンモニウムメチルカーボネート0.4質量部を添加し、窒素気流下で100℃に昇温し、300分間加熱撹拌した。その後、溶液をメタノールに滴下してポリマーを単離し、40℃で終夜真空乾燥することにより、目的の側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体を得た。得られた側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体を粉砕した後、篩(90μm~150μm)を用いて分級された粒子を得た。側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体の変性量、平均粒子径の分析結果及び物性評価結果を表1に示す。
攪拌機、還流冷却管、窒素導入管及び反応基質の添加口を備えた反応器に、市販のポリビニルアルコール(クラレアメリカインコーポレイテッド製、Elvanol(登録商標) 71-30、けん化度99.5モル%、粘度平均重合度1700)100質量部とジメチルスルホキシド900質量部を添加し、濃度10質量%の溶液を調製した。ここに10-ウンデセン酸メチル40質量部と、触媒としてテトラメチルアンモニウムメチルカーボネート0.4質量部を添加し、窒素気流下で100℃に昇温し、30分間加熱撹拌した。その後、溶液をメタノールに滴下してポリマーを単離し、40℃で終夜真空乾燥することにより、目的の側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体を得た。得られた側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体を粉砕した後、篩(300μm~710μm)を用いて分級された粒子を得た。側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体の変性量、平均粒子径の分析結果及び物性評価結果を表1に示す。
Claims (6)
- Xが炭素数1~5の分岐構造を有していてもよい2価の飽和炭化水素基であり、Yが水素原子または炭素数1~5の分岐構造を有していてもよい飽和炭化水素基であり、XとYの合計炭素数が9以下である、請求項1に記載の側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体。
- Yが水素原子である、請求項1または2に記載の側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体。
- 前記側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体の全単量体単位に対する前記式(I)で表される構成単位の含有量が0.05~10モル%である、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体。
- 平均粒子径が20~1000μmであり、かつ25℃の水100gに対して2g以上完全に溶解することができる、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の側鎖オレフィン含有ビニルアルコール系重合体からなる粉末またはペレット。
